Given the game is very likely CPU bottle-necked any upgrade would likely come with PSSR up-scaling. Hopefully with an upgrade to FSR 3.1 for base consoles in tow, anything to bring us up from that untouched 1080p resolution.

Don't know if it's a time of day thing, but I prefer the more dramatic sunset colors used in the OG. The new lightning is getting awfully close to that "Unreal engine Ocarina of Time fan-remake" vibe, where yeah it's objectively more realistic lighting, but it loses personality.
Overall higher density of everything is impressive, and a much more notable upgrade over the better textures and lighting, as the old ones still hold up very well. It's how much fuller and alive everything looks that really makes it stand out as an upgrade, the people, animals, plants, fog, clouds, how far out everything renders.

Insomniac is already very good at optimizing and giving you options for playing whoever you want. I played R&C in performance RT mode and it looked amazing, but there's also performance no-RT, Quality, Quality 40fps, Performance 120fps. And they're all well optimized so none of them look like a blurry mess from normal viewing distances.

the season also features the lamest character added yet: a gen-Z Deadshot variant. It's not exactly the season to bring some life into the game

I still like the idea of Yasuke as a co-protagonist, as an unbiased and fresh point of view entry into Japanese culture & politics of the time. The Nobunaga period was not a simple time so I think they have their heads in the right place.

IMO Pre-Order periods should never actually sell out. After the main batch for release date goes through it should just clearly mention you're getting it after release.

Dead or Alive Xtreme series is where Team Ninja is allowed to flex, test, train and upgrade their engine and their biggest goal for it: maximize efficiency for jiggle physics.

There's a huge pile of Japan Studio games that could use remasters or remakes to more modern engines, some of them with BIG potential for becoming solid hits like Soul Sacrifice or Siren. There's other games languishing in the Vita graveyard that could be saved.
Heck, the Ratchet & Clank Future cycle could also get revived from the PS3 graveyard if Sony only wants to focus on currently living franchises.

I remember having fun with it on PSP. Going by this article I'm guessing it doesn't hold up.

I would prefer a new Lego Harry Potter game that adds Fantastic Beasts movies on top of the OG 8. Would also help to expand the castle, rework the combat system, and keep the whole content in 1 instance, rather than having to choose between 1-4 then 5-7.

There's no revenue for them if they go F2P, I think the devs would run into the same problem Splitgate faced when it became a hit. The game just wasn't built to be monetized effectively so they abandoned it in favor of Splitgate 2 built with the required backend for it.

EDIT: I did enjoy the beta and I think there's a very solid and good looking game in there. It was pretty stable too! Shooters just aren't really my thing this days, I do think it had all the makings of a modest hit if marketed better or releasing into a less crowded field.

The GaaS shooter well is tapped out mostly by Microsoft & EA, there's just not much space for more shooters like this outside the PS crowd.

Frame Generation, specially FSR isn't really ready for 30fps to 60fps uplifts, AMD is clear on that & they recommend having 60fps baseline before using it. From personal experience using FSR Frame Gen, you can go around 45ish fps and still get solid results, at least on lower resolutions.

12 hours?! This looked more like a 4-5 hour game.
I'm still gonna play it through game pass, might also buy it down the line to support the dev.

They're also working on Little Nightmares 3. 3 Big games due to launch soon and losing almost a third of the workforce can't possibly be good.
