Rayman

New job adverts at Ubisoft have revealed that the Mario + Rabbids developer Ubisoft Milan is taking on staff to create a new "prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand".

The successful applicant shall "be responsible for ensuring the quality and content of gameplay animation assets align with the game’s vision", a listing for a 3D gameplay animator position on the project revealed. "Ubisoft Milan is seeking a talented 3D Gameplay Animator to be involved in the production of a prestigious AAA title for the Rayman brand." The job adverts have now been removed, but were documented on Reddit and now reported on by VGC.

The advertisements follow confirmation from late last year that Ubisoft Milan was in the early stages of an "exploration phase" with the Rayman series. It appears that internal investigation was successful, as job listings ask new employees to work on a big-budget entry.

It's been more than 10 years since Rayman was last on PlayStation, with the platforming games Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends marking the character's last appearances on Sony consoles. The character hasn't been completely MIA over the past decade, though, as Rayman was the star of an expansion for Nintendo Switch game Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope in 2023.
