Update []: An update to the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds website has provided more information about the game, its post-launch content plan, and more.

The SEGA-owned guest characters (and their vehicles) revealed in the above trailer will be coming to the kart racer as free DLC, while appearances from outside franchises, like Minecraft, will be premium add-ons.

A Season Pass (included with the Digital Deluxe version of the game) will give you access to these extra content packs.

Minecraft is the first of these, bringing a trio of drivers — Steve, Alex, and Creeper — as well as a Minecraft course to race around and a minecart vehicle.

It will be one of six DLC packs, each one presumably bringing a third-party IP to the crossover kart racer.

If you pre-order the standard or Digital Deluxe edition of CrossWorlds, you'll also gain access to the Werehog as a new character.

Once the game has received all its free and paid DLC, the character roster will number over 50.

Original Story: SEGA has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming racing title Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, announcing several special guest characters from various franchises.

The video shows off appearances from Like a Dragon's Ichiban Kasuga, Joker from Persona 5, Hatsune Miku, and even characters from Minecraft.

It seems that subtitle means more than just hopping between dimensions mid-race — it's also referring to the character roster.

We also now have a release date; the game is launching on 25th September, 2025, so it's not too far down the road.
