First Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay Revealed in Dev Deep Dive

Bruh.... from like the 7 seconds of game play we saw, the RE engine is truly cooking, the lighting and hair look god tier.

Edit: don't believe his lies when he says Leon won't be in the game, Capcom are trolling so hard at the moment.

By that Logic, no OG Resi Character will be good in future games. I dont by it though, Leon for sure is gona show up

@Oram77 Same, why would they even make a point to bring up Leon out of nowhere? They are on some trolling thing with this game. I am trying not to get my hopes up. Will enjoy the game either way.

@SuperSilverback What he clearly means is making him the main character for a horror game. Like yes it will be difficult to make the game scary because he is experienced in this and especially after 6. It's a big possibility though that Leon will be playable because of 3 reasons, he brought him up out of nowhere, he states people can play in 3rd person for those who enjoy action, and 3 it's set in a nuked Raccoon city.

As much as i enjoyed playing Leon or any RE veterans, i hope this game stick with Grace from start to finish. No change to Leon, Chris, Jill, Claire etc who showed up half way or in the end to clean up the mess.

Like, why bother to put Grace in this game as a main protag and showed her fear of facing BOW that she never see in her life unlike her mother. But then change into one of RE veterans like Leon who roundhouse kick, doing acrobats, or John Wick BOW's like it's just another monday for him.

But eh, i guess it will happen since Capcom doesn't want to dissapoint the fans who keeps asking for RE veterans.

Get the feeling they’re planning to move on from the RE OG’s in future games

I'm just going wait for it to be 50% or more off, I got too many other games & RE games in my backlog to care before then.

@BusyOlf The RE og's are too OP for these monsters. So i think Capcom will move on if they want RE to stick with horror elements.

Leon would be around 51 in 2028, if Raccon City was bombed in 1998, so he'll probably be selling fruit down the market in this game.

Looks great, still want that Claire and Leon reunion. This was the best game for it since they return to raccoon city

Its an absolutely fair point and it makes sense they dont make Leon or Chris for example the main character because they're so hardended to this stuff and it definitely removes an element of the horror if the character isn't afraid at all. Also if they're able to fly kick dudes.

I was worried with Village, while I really enjoyed it, it definitely felt like the slipping of Resi 5 back into more action which resulted in Resi 6. So I'm glad they seem to be making an active effort to pivot back.

But make no mistake, this does not mean old faces won't show up, we will definitely be seeing Leon and probably others, this is the end of a trilogy of new games, they will definitely want a bang to end on.

Much more fun to play with the characters we love and represent us.

Also, stop making time pass in paralel with the real world. That's dumb. Like a Dragon makes the same mistake.

Imagine if time passed as the real world in street fighter... nonsense. We like the characters for who they are. No one needs their 60 yo rackity selves. It's a game, not the real world.
If you want to make first person horror games, stop calling them resident evil and stop calling back to the classics.

Leon will definitely be in this one way or another, no other reason to talk about him, and not any other characters, I mean Chris would be fairly stable also, jill valentine too, she's been through a few stories,

It's going to be another 7-Village case where Chris was playable for a little bit, but with Leon. Hope all the Racoon City leads gets a little spotlight and not just Leon.
The series kinda taking place in real time does mean that the old guard is quickly aging out of lead roles, need to build up a new class of characters to carry the next couple of decades, right now that's Grace and Rose. I guess they have the weird thing going on with Jill's aging to keep her as an open option going forward.

@PuppetMaster Same, Looking forward to this...but the moment Leon was mentioned, my interest faltered a bit. Roundhouse kicking zombies and wrestling moves does not give me the feeling of horror.

I'll never forget the Resi Evil 6 gameplay trailer way back, the guy saying "for the old school horror fans, Leon's campaign has you covered"...and then next thing you know, Leon's going streets of rage on the zombies...

I really hope they just stick with Grace, and actually focus on outright horror for a change instead of Leon Balboa and Chris "The Boulder" Redfield...but deep down I know Leon will be in it, here's hoping the game turns out good at least.

While we're at it Capcom, you should go back and remake Resi Evil 3 properly instead of whatever that half baked mess was before (and a new Powerstone)

@Oram77 To be fair he didn't say he wouldn't be in it, just that he isn't the lead character. They also seemed to hint ABIT at other OG characters showing up.

@PrettyPawsome Yeah. I hope Leon or some RE veteran only limited in cutscene or got their own playable section as DLC. Similar to RE 7 main campaign where Chris only showed up in cutscene but playable in the "Not a Hero" DLC.

@illegalmonkey I wouldn't be so quick to brand Grace like that. We've seen the video that she uses a gun, and obviously must be skilled enough to become a FBI agent.

It looks rubbish. I cannot get into the resident evil games the last 2 were awful however resident evil 4 is my favourite game of all time. I don't consider it a resident evil game. It's it's own thing.
