Dark Souls 3 PS4

FromSoftware already has the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods slated for 2026, but what if it had one more game up its sleeve for next year, likely carrying a PS5 version?

A new reports suggests as much, with an MP1ST article stating a project with the codename "FMC" is in the "advanced stages of production" and "could release next year". According to the outlet, past FromSoftware codenames carrying the letter "F" have been related to the Dark Souls and Armored Core franchises.

Based on this, the website speculates this new project might be a new Armored Core entry or the rumoured remaster of Dark Souls 3. An updated re-release of Dark Souls 3 was suggested to be a thing late last year.

Based on how FromSoftware has handled the Armored Core series in the past, there's just as good a chance this new project is another Armored Core title. A few years after a mainline entry, the Japanese developer has generally put out a spin-off based on that numbered instalment. As it's been almost two years since Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon launched, we could be looking at a new game in the mech series.

For now, FromSoftware officially has The Duskbloods releasing in 2026 for Switch 2. There's a chance it'll come to PS5 after release as FromSoftware owns the copyright to the release, but there'll be Elden Ring Nightreign DLC to tide you over until that potentially happens.

What do you want to see from FromSoftware next? Another Souls game, an Armored Core title, or something entirely new? Let us know in the comments below.
