FromSoftware already has the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods slated for 2026, but what if it had one more game up its sleeve for next year, likely carrying a PS5 version?
A new reports suggests as much, with an MP1ST article stating a project with the codename "FMC" is in the "advanced stages of production" and "could release next year". According to the outlet, past FromSoftware codenames carrying the letter "F" have been related to the Dark Souls and Armored Core franchises.
Based on this, the website speculates this new project might be a new Armored Core entry or the rumoured remaster of Dark Souls 3. An updated re-release of Dark Souls 3 was suggested to be a thing late last year.
Based on how FromSoftware has handled the Armored Core series in the past, there's just as good a chance this new project is another Armored Core title. A few years after a mainline entry, the Japanese developer has generally put out a spin-off based on that numbered instalment. As it's been almost two years since Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon launched, we could be looking at a new game in the mech series.
For now, FromSoftware officially has The Duskbloods releasing in 2026 for Switch 2. There's a chance it'll come to PS5 after release as FromSoftware owns the copyright to the release, but there'll be Elden Ring Nightreign DLC to tide you over until that potentially happens.
What do you want to see from FromSoftware next? Another Souls game, an Armored Core title, or something entirely new? Let us know in the comments below.

Whatever it is, best not have BR or multiplayer elements in there.
Edit: Never heard of that DS3 remaster rumour, but honestly it doesn't need one
Re-edit: Another Armored Core game would go hard, but am I the only one, who wants another Sekiro style game?
@Frmknst You're right I prefer my games to have 72% combat in them...
FromSoft already confirmed multiplayer-focused entries aren't replacing traditional solo-focused games, yet people are still quick to moan. Yes, they have traditional games in their pipeline, even if these two games aren't your cup of tea 😉 Maybe DS3 can be the new Last of Us, where we get a Remaster then a Remake 🤣
@Frmknst what uhh...what games do you even like man?
Really curious to see what else From has up their sleeve
A remaster of Dark Souls 3 is what we need, because the existing version is perfectly fine on PS5.
Ah yes the letter F has been used for both Dark Souls and Armoured Core.
So what we know is it is in fact a game they are working on in one of their two franchises.
After the highly impressive job bluepoint did remastering/remaking Demon Souls, it might be interesting to see what FS could do with a remaster of Dark Souls 3, though im not sure they are on the same level of technical prowess as bluepoint.
Every FromSoftware game is basically identical. Josh Strife Hayes on YouTube did a review of their early PS1 stuff and the hallmarks of their style were visible even back then.
@Rich33 Expect a similar level to what we got with the Dark Soul 1 and 2 remaster/enhanced version.
@Rich33 the demon's souls remaster is a crime against humanity
@Ta424 they want to put it on the switch 2.
I think a remaster of ds3 would be dope
C'mon, it's a Bloodborne re-master and we all know it.
@Hylian-Likely It's close but not quite correct. It's actually FloodMorne Kos, although some see to say Kosm. They just accidentally put the wrong consonant.
A new Tenchu or Shinobido please....
@Oram77 Sekiro was the only Soulsborne game (if it is considered such) I never finished. Got to the last boss and damn that was crazy difficult. Cracking game but damn that last battle. At least with the Dark Souls trilogy, Elden Ring, Bloodborne you can level up and grind but Sekiro was all about skills I clearly didn't have.
The "canonical" final of Sekiro suggests/screams for a sequel.
Please FromSoftware, Sekiro 2 please!!!
@Hapless me too. My excitement fell through the floor when I heard the duskbloods was MP.
How is it possible to churn out so many games? They aren't small games, and quite polished compared to most AAA games. If only they could figure out how to include a pause function and rudimentary quest journal.
@MJF
OK. Personally I think it's a technical masterclass, which even though it released with the PS5 has relatively rarely been bettered on that front, and probably one of the best remasters/remakes of all time, at least until you start including remakes which have made significant gamplay improvements (eg Capcom with RE Remakes), which Bluepoint weren't allowed to do I believe.
@AverageGamer
You are very likely right. I will hope for more (if the rumours are true), but you are probably right.
@Jammer Yeah, Isshin is absolutely brutal, hell even Lady Butterfly is hard as most people run into her by accident. I just loved the combat loop of this game, that's why I want it to be used again.
@LifeGirl I only played two of their games - Elden Ring and DS Remake - yet and they’re far from identical in approach and setting. They’re within the same genre, that’s all. It’s the same as saying every race game is identical because they make you race.
@Rhaoulos
Don't mention a pause function! (or a quest log either). Its only a small step away from a difficulty selection which From Software seem overly resistant to.
Though First Berserker and Lies of P have recently added difficulty settings, and Lies of P has a sort of rudimentary quest log in that icons appear helpfully on the stargazer (bonfire) fast travel selection,; so maybe?
@LifeGirl Yeah, yeah and every open world game, and FPS is the same as well.
Hope it's a new title and not a sequel tbh. I always enjoy their interesting teasers
Better not be bloodborne, I think I am either halfway or over through it and don't want a superior version now. I held out long enough for a remaster or patch.
I would absolutely love another Armored Core game! Armored Core VI was one of the most underrated games of that year in my humble opinion (and man was that soundtrack a killer!)
Was my first entry to Armored Core, and definitely left me wanting more!
Whatever it is, to echo others, I really hope this is a more single player oriented game. Other than leaving absolutely hilarious messages on the ground*, I like my from software games solo.
*I am yet to actually leave a message deemed hilarious.
Hope it’s a new IP!
We DO NOT need a remaster of Dark Souls 3 (performs beautifully on PS5).
A new Armored Core would be cool, but honestly I would love them to switch up the formula a bit. I loved the new one when I first got it, and it is fantastic, but I fell off because the mission-based formula just felt a bit dated and repetitive to me… I would honestly love to see them bring more exploration and an open world to Armored Core—there is SO much that could be done with it!
@ear_wig I agree with you on DS3 on PS5. I just started playing it a week ago for the first time and it looks great!
@MJF Huh?!? Your comment is a crime against humanity.
Bloodborne 2 10000% now with all seriousness i hope is ds4 or something new
Elden Ring was their worst game, but this is good because it means they have nowhere to go but up now.
Since Duskbloods is already a new IP, I think it would be something more certain to balance that risk. Could revive an old franchise, like King's Field or Echo Night, remaster some old games, or something Armored Core related, as said in the article.
@Hylian-Likely FMC=Full Moon Chapel. Bloodborne 2 (or remaster) confirmed!!!!! GRANT US EYES!!!! GRANT US EYES!!!!!
@8thDoctor omg a new Kings Field would be interesting
Hopefully not a DS3 remaster, that’d seem wasteful given the plethora of other titles of theirs that could use it more.
Has been about a decade since the last mainline Dark Souls entry. A true DS4 would be a nice surprise.
@Rich33 every single change they made to the design of the game was bad
they ruined the atmosphere, the hud looks worse, there are some quality of life changes that improves the experience, but generally I would much prefer the original game with that stuff just put in.
I'm amazed by ppl. You know its exactly the same game since Demon Soul's,From software is the most boring and uninspired game dev team atm.
@Oram77 Hello there friend.
No, you are not the only one that would love to see a Sekiro sequel, especialy since the "secret ending" alludes to something more. It could be very interesting if they went that route.
But I´m gonna be honest, the grind for exp to aquire all the skills was very anoying. Actualy decided to do two new game plus, just to speed up the whole process.
Other than that, great game all around.
And as for you @Jammer, my friend, sometimes all you have to do in these games, is take some time off and then go back to it. Of course, if you take to long, you have to re-learn everything about the games mechanics and controls, as well as the timing and rythm and flow of the combat system.
With some time and patience, you´ll eventually "get good" to be able to beat any enemy in your path. You can do it. We all did.
Cheers and all the best for you both
@Hylian-Likely LMAO! I like it!
@Max_the_German Dark Souls 3 l with Demon's Souls Ramake graphics wooluld go so hard!
