If you've been wondering what the folks at Drinkbox Studios have been up to, here it is: Blighted, a new action Metroidvania game.
Set within a "psychedelic Western nightmare", this is the developer's first foray into 3D, albeit from an isometric viewpoint.
It features a dynamic difficulty system, which will constantly adapt to the player, throwing different enemies and changing the environment as you progress.
A reality-altering disease is spreading throughout the world of Blighted, and your mission is, of course, to put a stop to it.
The player character is afflicted with this condition too, and you'll be able to harness it and use the knowledge and memories of enemies against them.
The game can be played solo or with another player in co-op.
Drinkbox has some great games under its belt, so we're confident this will be another fun action title when it arrives. There's no date yet beyond 2026, but we do know it's coming to PC and consoles.

Ohhh I am IN! This looks great.
Giving me Severed vibes with the aesthetic, that's all I need. Drinkbox are great devs!
Wish it was 2D metroidvania rather than isometric one like this.
I'm interested in anything Drinkbox do!
Day one for sure. Severed is one of my favorite games - a really fun platinum too, and the Guacamole games are sublime. I didn’t care too much for Nobody Saves The World, but that’s only because it didn’t seem too single player focused, and incentivized cooperative play, which I don’t do. It was fun, however. I’ll eagerly pick this new title up.
Metroidvania has to be the most incorrectly used video game term of all time. The term has become absolutely meaningless when an isometric action rpg or action adventure game is called one.
