Update #2 []: Patch 2.3 is available to download now on PS5 and other platforms. It weighs in at a hefty 9.2GB, so we'd recommend grabbing it sooner rather than later!
The full patch notes have already been released, and you can read through them in the updated article below.
Just to quickly recap, this patch is mostly about vehicle additions and enhancements, with some quality of life and performance improvements thrown in.
Update #1 []: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 will release on the 17th July, and as promised, it's similar in scope to the previous update, version 2.2.
Here's a quick rundown of what's being added:
- New quests that unlock new vehicles
- More paint options for vehicles
- Auto drive added to all of your vehicles, with an optional 'cinematic camera'
- Taxi service added
- Expanded photo mode options
- Quality of life improvements
- Improved HDR settings
- VRR support on PS5
And here are the full patch notes:
Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.3 Patch Notes
Vehicles
Added 4 new vehicles, including several Side Jobs tied to acquiring them:
- Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru
Reward from a new side job (to unlock, complete The Hunt and The Beast In Me).
An additional side job unlocks the CrystalCoat™ feature for it.
- Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred"
Reward from a new side job (to unlock, complete The Beast in Me: Badlands, The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Transmission, and Search and Destroy).
- Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa
Reward from a new side job (to unlock, purchase 1 Yaiba vehicle, purchase at least 3 vehicles through AUTOFIXER, and complete Reported Crime: You Play with Fire...).
If you fail the side job, the vehicle can later be purchased through AUTOFIXER.
- Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila
Available for purchase on AUTOFIXER.
- Introducing AutoDrive! This cutting-edge, autonomous driving feature will take you to your chosen destination (i.e. job objective or placed pin on the map). If you have no set destination, it will take you on a leisurely ride through the streets of Night City. Simply hop in any of your vehicles, make sure you're on a road, and hold H (PC) / Left Stick (consoles) to activate. This feature is disabled when you enter combat or when your vehicle is heavily damaged.
- Implemented Cinematic Camera for AutoDrive. Hold Q (PC) / D-Pad Right (consoles) to activate. Sit back and enjoy cinematic views of Night City as you cruise toward your destination.
- Self-driving Delamain cabs are now available on demand! Simply open the menu to call vehicles, then select "Delamain Cab" from the list to request a ride. This feature unlocks after completing the job Don't Lose Your Mind (regardless of outcome) and receiving a message from Delamain.
- Rayfield's CrystalCoat™ is now available for vehicles from partner brands, including motorcycles. Additionally, the infamous hacker known as Cosmetic_Troll exploited a vulnerability and created a cracked version of Rayfield's CrystalCoat™ technology for lower-end vehicles. Please note, however, that some models do not support the technology, such as heavily modded nomad vehicles and job-related vehicles.
- Fixed an issue where unique color schemes did not work properly on the Mizutani Shion MZ1 and MZ2.
- Fixed an issue where unique color scheme could not be applied properly to the Villefort Deleon "Vindicator".
Photo Mode
- Added 27 new NPCs that can be spawned in Photo Mode, including Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, fixers, Dum Dum, the iguana, Brendan, and more.
- You can now switch between alternative outfits for NPCs spawned in Photo Mode.
- You can now switch between V's saved Wardrobe outfits in Photo Mode.
- Added a confirmation pop-up when exiting Photo Mode to prevent accidental exits after setting up the perfect shot.
- Added more customization options to the Look-At Camera feature, including an option for only the character's eyes to turn toward the camera instead of their entire body.
- Added multiple new stickers and frames, including iconic quotes and stylish overlays that let you turn your screenshots into Night City postcards – perfect for sharing memories from the City of Dreams.
- Improved Depth of Field and moved it to the Camera tab.
- Added a new Color Balance tab, allowing you to create your own custom filters.
- Weather: includes rain, acid rain, fog, sandstorm, pollution, and sunny.
- Time of Day: changes the time of day within Photo Mode.
- Frame Forward: advances through an unlimited number of frames to capture the perfect shot.
- Game Speed: allows in-game time to progress while in Photo Mode.
Quality of Life & Accessibility
- The game will now detect if the player is using inverted mouse button settings and automatically adjusts in-game button prompts accordingly.
- Added an option to toggle aiming down sights in Settings → Controls.
Jobs & Open World
- Cyberpsycho Sighting: Bloody Ritual - the "Crack the ritualist's shard" objective now properly disappears from the Journal after completing the objective.
- Sex on Wheels - now properly appears in the Journal after receiving the message from Jake Estevez.
- Shot by Both Sides - fixed an issue where selecting a specific dialogue option in the conversation with Bree created a nameless, iconless item in the player's Inventory.
- Shot by Both Sides - fixed an issue where the button to go to the lower level didn't appear on the elevator panel.
Gameplay
- Fixed an issue where, when using a controller in Trauma Drama, the controllable character would default to shooting upwards instead of forward.
- Players can now drop more Cyberware Capacity Shards if some within the intended drop limit were previously missed.
- Fixed an issue causing automatic weapons to fire slower than intended.
- Fixed an issue where the Official BARGHEST Tac Vest didn't drop from the scripted Airdrop as intended.
- The level 60 Engineer perk no longer activates the EMP blast outside of combat or after entering a vehicle.
- Added an option to replay the gameplay tutorial at any time via Settings → Controls.
Miscellaneous
- Added an option to tell Johnny to go away after you look at him for a short while when he appears in the passenger seat. He takes the hint and disappears as a passenger for a couple days.
- Fixed an issue where the sound of V's Radioport could be randomly interrupted by the Radioports of nearby NPCs.
- Fixed an issue where History by Gazelle Twin and Trash Generation played too loudly compared to other songs on the radio.
- Improved the HDR Setting screen: fixed the HDR calibration preview so it correctly reflects the chosen settings, and clarified the description of the "Tone-Mapping Midpoint" setting.
- Updated the End User Licence Agreement. You will be asked to accept it again when you load the game after updating.
- Fixed several visual issues with missing, clipping, or floating textures.
- Fixed several localization issues in various languages.
Console-specific
- Added VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Fixed an issue where foliage was not properly affected by weather conditions on PlayStation 5.
Original Story: CD Projekt Red will showcase Patch 2.3 for Cyberpunk 2077 tomorrow (the 16th July), via a dedicated livestream. It starts at 4pm BST / 5pm CEST.
Fans of the RPG have been waiting for this one. Patch 2.3 was originally meant to release last month, on the 26th June, but it was delayed to ensure its quality.
We would bet on the update launching this week, as the developer usually details these patches just ahead of dropping them. Sometimes, they've released on the same day as the stream — although this Thursday seems a more likely scenario, given that the game's also launching on Mac.
Patch 2.3 is supposedly of a similar scope to Patch 2.2, which added vehicle customisation, loads of new character appearance options, and big photo mode improvements.
Going by the cheeky wording of this announcement (how many car puns can you fit into one social media post?), it looks like players can expect new vehicle features.
We will, of course, cover all of the relevant information right here on Push Square — so be sure to come back tomorrow.
Have you been waiting to play Cyberpunk 2077 again? Go tell Johnny the good news in the comments section below.

Been playing non stop on the switch 2 be nice to go back to the pro and see if anything is new
I thought after 2.0 they were gonna stop updating this game since they dropped support for the red engine and needed to focus on there other in development products 🤔
@Drago201 The primary development of these latest updates is being done by Virtuos, a third-party company (the company behind Oblivion Remastered and the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake).
So CDPR itself isn't doing much heavy lifting.
Pro enhancements pretty please (massive cope)
I am one of the lucky few that despite really looking forward to the original release of the game, I avoided playing it knowing that it would be improved for a long time to come. I'll be able to play it in the best state possible, now the only decision to make is whether to play it on my PS5 Pro, Series X or mid-tier gaming laptop (i7 with a 3070ti - mobile version obviously).
@Oram77 If that happened, I think I'd play it on the Pro. Interested to know how the game plays on a console vs the PC with regards to the controls and how well CDPR mapped the functionality over from PC to a controller.
@Ellie-Moo I played the game for the time this year on my Pro and thought the game looked incredible, I can only imagine how good it would look with Pro enhancements.
@ShogunRok I did not know that thanks for the info 😀
I’ll make sure I have my bucket of popcorn ready for that sweet showcase!
Only played around 3 hours before, kinda glad I'll be starting from scratch with all these improvements!
All I really care about is cosmetics. Sweet new haircuts, etc.
Surely a PRO update… surely
New side quests/missions/activities please 🙏
We're getting an announcement of an announcement tomorrow about getting an update going from 2.2 to 2.3?
Gaming is a joke.🙄
Come on CDPR give us that Pro update.
I have to manage expectations. This update will amount to no more than a boring new skin for a slightly undercooked vehicle gameplay system.
It isn't quests of quality or improvements to Pro performance. I wouldn't be able to tell it was updated if they didn't triumphantly announce a 'reveal' with a single exec.
@rjejr They're just announcing that tomorrow will see the new update that adds new features, they're announcing the lifestream because they always do a lifestream with a new update. Why so negative?
@Drago201 CDPR can't help themselves. They "ended support" for TW3 years ago but its still getting updates with a new one that adds console mod support coming later this year.
@DennisReynolds the witcher is still getting supports goddamn and we still can't get a performance patch for ff16 this is crazy
I’ve always given CDPR the ***** they deserved for the state they released cp77 in. And I will continue to do so.
However funnily enough last week the ultimate collection was on offer at £28 on prime day so I bought it. Along with an LG C4 which arrives tomorrow, so cp77 is my game to test out the tv. So the update is welcome!
Tbh I really think it‘s the pro patch. Why should they showcase it they didn‘t do that for the last couple patches
@DennisReynolds You don't think it's ridiculous to announce a live stream for an update of a 5 year old game? Why does this have to be live, and why does it need to be announced? OK in hindsight it does probably have to be announced if it's live, I just don't see why it needs to be live. Just update the game and drop a trailer on YT and mention it on social media.
Man, if a 5yr old game is getting announcements for live trailers for an update from 2.2 to 2.3 I can only imagine what we're going to get next year for the GTA 6 release. Actual live human virgins sacrificed by being thrown into a volcano, 1 a day for the week leading up to the game?🌋
My prediction - a co-op mode
@rjejr They have done this for every notable update. I don't find it ridiculous because CDPR have been doing it for the game since before the game was even released
I’m hoping for new game plus. Specifically so I can get the ten out of ten trophy without buying Phantom Liberty or spending ages roaming the map looking for random groups of enemies to shoot.
@rjejr Just consider the live stream a trailer of sorts and there’s nothing to complain about
I'm currently playing through the game and I don't see what the hype is all about. I have friends that keep going back to do more playthroughs but as I'm playing I'm feeling the experience kinda...meh. Like, I love the aesthetic but then you see like the same 6 NPCs with their weird ass walk cycles and then even the immersion breaks. I don't really enjoy the combat, I don't enjoy the stealth, I don't enjoy the driving and while I do think the characters are at least passable, this game really doesn't do anything special in any regard. I really wanted to like this game but I'm kinda happy that I held out until it was released on Extra.
This game need new game plus and i have this glitch that you only can finish one side quest and they stop talking to you, between pam or lucy i think
Their dedication to this game and the world of Night City is commendable, this many years after release. I'll be happy with whatever they showcase tomorrow, it's all icing on the cake at this point, but my theoretical wishlist would be for an FOV slider (I can dream, right?)
This looks great on the Series X. I imagine it looks better on my PS5 pro though.
Hey, can I just ask, Why don't you embed BlueSky posts instead of X posts?
https://bsky.app/profile/cyberpunk.net/post/3ltz66jkqxk2s
As 95%+ of CP2077 owners do not have a PS5 Pro, even if there is an update, it won't take up much of the runtime and will probably just beef up RT and resolution. Like a lot of the other pro upgrades, the GPU stuff will see a bit of a boost.
Edit - based on what CDPR staff are hinting it looks like its just going to be a car related update lol.
@Ellie-Moo @Oram77 It already gets built in update on PS5 Pro by running at a higher Dynamic resolution and smoother frame-rate.
A proper PS5 patch would be nice though... as long as there are toggles and we don't get stuck with worse frame-rates chasing graphical fidelity. But I think it's unlikely. Still fingers crossed.
All this added character cusomisation seems rather pointless seeing as its a first person game. I've played it a bit and sort of like it, but I'm not a first person type of guy really. If they added a third person mode (I know, they won't) then I'd be all over it! As it is, it will probably stay unplayed largely.
@Drago201 I don't see it as a bad thing. They really turned Cyberpunk around and continue to support it is really good to see.
@SJR oh its definitely not bad I'm just shocked it's still ongoing
I told you it was going to be car based haha, No FSR update again for consoles.
The update gave everything PS5 players did not ask for and nothing that PS5 players actually wanted like NG + or PS5 Pro mode or some kinds of DLC.
@Kiefer-Sutherland I'm not complaining about the trailer, I'm complaining about the announcement of a trailer.😁
Announcements of announcements is a pet peeve of mind. If you have something to announce, just announce it, you don't need to announce an announcement. It's like having a commercial for an upcoming commercial.
OK so in this case it's half that, my pet peeve, and also a 2.2 to 2.3 upgrade needing a live stream. Live streams should be for big new reveals, not this minor update. I think the company making this game has already moved onto the next one so I'm not expecting anything ground breaking stop the presses in this.🤷♂️
I just read the update at the top of the page, not impressed. Though I can't even tell if the livesteam has happened yet or not so...
@DennisReynolds "CDPR have been doing it for the game since before the game was even released"
Maybe that's why the game had to be recalled and refunded on PS4, spending too much time on live streams when they should have been focusing on making the game functional. 😂
I feel like this is all No Man's Sky fault.
I can't say there's anything that's going to make me return, especially with RoboCop and Donkey Kong tomorrow. I really enjoyed the game but some car paints and a taxi service aren't that interesting and a shame we still don't have a Pro mode
I've played Cyberpunk 4 times, with my last play-through about 4 months ago. If 2.3 update had NG+ i'd jump right back in, but it doesn't sound like we are getting NG+.
PC keeps getting FSR, DLSS and XESS updates to the latest versions and consoles are still stuck on FSR2. I pray that it's just something they overlooked and we actually get updated to 3.1 too.
Hype for this update was probably a bit too big when we see how it turns out now.
Nevertheless nice to see some improvements. VRR could mean it’s a bit smoother and we might have an unlocked framerate especially on the pro? Thought a VRR in general was already active in that game…
An FSR update in consoles would have been nice but I guess we won’t see this for an 5 almost 5 year old game at this point.
@Reeneman the dev said it wasn't proper vrr on consoles , whatever that means
VRR and better HDR support. I'm stoked
@lazarus11 ah okay. Still Strange. 5 years or more than 3 years after the current gen release and we have better HDR settings and proper VRR xD
Alright.
I picked a good time to start playing this game. Started it last night. Only played two hours but it's good so far
@Gremio108 yeah for sure. Game is already „completely“ patched. These new additions in 2.3 are nice to have but by far not impressive. Perfect start to begin the game with version 2.2.
Nice. I only just purchased the DLC so even more for me to enjoy.
It's almost as if the best time to buy a CDPR game is 5-10 years after release...
It really needs a FOV slider on console.
VRR is a nice add! I may just grab the dlc and finally play this game already, though I wonder if there are any viable guides out there given the game has changed so much.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare definitely. An update to FSR 3 or PSSR would help with the image quality. A 40 fps mode for the quality mode should also work at least for the ps5 pro. But I guess we’re too late in lifecycle of this game to see these features added.
Still having a glimpse of hope that the improved VRR support unlocks the framerate.
For all those wanting a PS5 pro upgrade be careful what you wish for; they could mess it up bit like Blooper did with Silent Hill 2.
With VRR activated the game now seems to run with an unlocked framerate.
Performance mode usually between 60-80 fps on the pro.
Quality mode seems to run around 40 fps, which could make the mode much more attractive for many gamers.
@Reeneman You are making me want to fire it back up on my Pro!
Whenever it's raining in Night City, I'm switching to auto drive, tuning in to Pacific Dreams radio and then just staring out of the window for maximum vibes.
Still no pro support is a disgrace.
@ZeroSum not almost, but that's how it is. Both Witcher 3 and xuperbunk 2077, and I'm pretty sure Witcher 4 will suffer from their incompetence
@Bamila it’s no Pro support as we would expect with a better upscaler like PSSR or an enhanced fidelity mode. Nevertheless it runs a bit better on the pro with a higher dynamic resolution. So in some way you benefit from the pro also for this game but it could be more for sure.
I don’t see any new options in the HDR settings….. Am i missing something?
@Hypoman there are no new options. They overhauled the preview screens a little bit. That’s all. Really not a huge change.
@Reeneman thanks for replying. So it isn’t a big change in settings either. 👍
@Reeneman Bummer. Was excited when I saw they updated it. No matter what I do, the HDR has always been more washed out than the non HDR. They have no clue what they are doing on this front.
