Now, I could see maybe getting another subscription service, but it would have to be a really good value. Maybe for like a month here or there, equivalent to a rental. Plucky Squire was very much worth the $ I paid for a month of Extra compared to it's full MSRP. But just to ongoing subscribe. It has to be a game by game basis.

Kinda glad my kids, who grew up with every Nintendo and Sony console, are moving over to PC. HDMI out and controllers work just fine. Sucks about the RAM but hopefully AI dies soon. Before it kills us all first.😝

I mean they have to be showing off DQ12 soon. I mean maybe they're waiting to get FF7 PT3 out of the way but that's a whole different thing so they really shouldn't wait. June should be hoping.

While announcing a SoP 2 weeks in advance may seem weird, this is also their June show, aka the formerly E3 time period, aka the Geoff Keighly NOT E3 show, so just think of it as announcing THAT show 2 weeks early, b/c E3 show times were always given out far in advance.

So don't think of it as a SoP, think of it as an early jump on Summer Game Fest. It's June, it's what gaming companies do. Though Nintendo will just drop their summer show on their new app w/o warning. 😂

Looking forward to the update. PS App says I have 45 hours and 50%. I think I'm up to the last main story quest, level 24 requirement, and I have to do the band side quest. I'm not really into most of the side stuff - got fishing to level 2, did the Pink Paws Bank Heist and serving in the Cafe exactly one each - but I have really enjoyed the story and character missions, pretty much anything with voice acting. Oh and I beat the first race against Sunday, I really should use my million fonts to buy a new car before getting a 3rd apartment. Buy I'm not racing any more,the controls suck, and there's nothing to it. I hated the required race with that woman trying to sell me her car,took me 3 or 4 attempts.😝

But I'm still looking forward to more. ZZZ really seemed to open up as time went on, though I stopped playing it so I'm not sure to what extent, and I'm hoping this story goes somewhere at some point. I mean I have amnesia and I'm a special gufted appraiser for a reason, right? 🤷‍♂️

I don't like 2D-HD so have never played a game in that style. I did get through very pixelated Sea of Stars w/ my wife and kid so if this has or gets couch co-op I'll give it a try.

Edit: Watched the trailer, forgot how good this looks. I really hate multiple time periods and characters etc but maybe it turns out OK? There does seem to be some weird 2nd player assist character but that's not co-op, not really. We'll give the demo a try but that sprite is a little too Nintendo nagging for my liking. But maybe.

So the 1 single player game they put out every year won't be ported to PC? Whatever will PC gamers do without them?

It does make sense for Sony to keep those limited games to themselves though, if they expect people to pay $999 for a PS6 to be playing mostly the same games we'll still be playing on PS5 for a few years after launch.

Jak and Daxter is my all time favorite game, and my only platinum to prove it. Though I suppose a caveat is in order as my all time favorite platformer. Uncharted 2 is my all time favorite interactive movie and Xenoblade Chronicles is my all time favorite JRPG.

That said, only the 1st game. 2 sucked as it's a mission based GTA wannabe that can't get anything right, 3 is slightly better b/c they get it right, and who cares about Jak X. I mean they called the game Jak X so obviously even they didn't care about it.

So I've been waiting 20 years for a proper sequel and oh man would it be so great to get one.

I've been excited a few times but I always get let down playing other games. Yooka Laylee had some potential during the first world and a half, but then it just falls off a cliff. A Hat in Time was really good but not quite the same vibe. Splatoon Raiders looks like it has potential but they'll probably make it a rogue something which I don't like. Donkey Kong Bananza was pretty good.

Who knows, it's probably impossible for old man me to like anything that much again, but could happen.

Nothing could be as bad as Hereos on the Move though. They took their best 3 Playstation mascots and made a game without a jump button?!?! Who approved that!?!? 🤬

I'd really like to know what state this game was in 2 years ago when someone said - "Yeah, we'll have it ready to release in 6 months." Like, does the person who said that still have a job? You'd think missing your mark by 1 1/2 years really shows you suck at your job of determining how long it takes to make your game. 😝

What have they been doing in the past year and a half? Making it look better? Run better? Adding a story? Adding online? I mean it's a year and a half beyond the due date, what have they been doing all this time? 🤷‍♂️

If the Special Edition upgrade is basically the same price as buying the entire game new I won't feel so bad if I buy the entire game new. 😂

Trying to think of a worse way to organize these than Alphabetical and I can't think of any. Even Random would be more fun.😂 Though I suppose if there's a game or 2 you're looking for by name. I usually just put those on my PS Wishlist and wait for the notification to pop up. 😁

I think gaming has a future, and it probably is bright. As TVs get smarter and more powerful, and phones get more powerful, and wireless streaming everywhere gets faster, we'll all be able to play whatever we want wherever we want without needing to buy consoles or anything physical.

But that's in general for the masses, as in the lowest common denominator. The industry is going to collapse like the horse and buggy, 100,000 people are going to lose their jobs, and the people who always say they'll stop gaming when physical goes away will have to stop gaming. Not this year or next but 20 years out. Almost the entire planet will be gaming all the time everywhere, but they'll all be playing Flappy Bird clones made by AI on their Roku accounts.

Gaming as we currently know it will crash and burn once again.😩

I wasn't buying it anyway, but I'm not even going to bother to borrow it from the library to read comics for 10 hours. I mean how does that even work? How hard would it have been to break up the 10 hour read with fights?

I played through Injustice just for the story mode, it was a fun few hours.

Funny, that's what I've been saying about the PS6 recently. Has anyone seen a game they can't wait for a PS6 for? How much better are we expecting games to get beyond the PS5 on our 4K HDR tvs? At this point I think I'd rather spend my money on a top of the line OLED TV than a new console. My 75" lcd is 4k w/ HDR but it's more bottom of the line than top. 😝

Whether the PS6 comes out next year, the year after, or the year after that, how many more years after that until the industry drops PS5 support? How long has the PS4 been supported that we keep hearing about games dropping it now?

I need to see 2 or 3 very impressive PS6 exclusives before I consider dropping the money on one, and I really don't expect that to happen any time soon. PS6 is just a plastic box if it doesn't have exclusive content.🤷‍♂️

I feel like the problem with reveals at TGS is the calendar, all the major game devs show off their new games over the summer so there's nothing left new to announce by September. September is when people start buying the big new holiday games and playing them, not worrying about new announcements at yet more shows. If they held it in May maybe they could get bigger.

I think this is the only GTA game I've ever played. I didn't like the look of the earlier ones and I always had something else to play since. I'm not much of a city setting guy, or brown. This 1 was fun, and seriously impressive for what it was, but I all time favorite game is also on the PS2, Jak and Daxter, which kinf od shows what I prefer. 😁

Wow, so they're actually making this huh, definitely thought they were going to bail and be done with it. Guess it makes sense they're finishing it, a lot people may tune in just to see how bad it is, and how it ends. Also may get some people to watch season 2 who missed it.

I think we'll watch it eventually but I'm not sure any of us are looking forward to it. I am genuinely curious how they end the show, after the theater scene where season 2 ended or at the end of the game? Everything after the theater just seemed unnecessary to me.

Not my type of game, couldn't get into the Life is Strange demo way back when, but so called "gamers" always seem to go off when these visual novel type games score well. They seem personally offended.

You don't need to add minors when talking about kissing like you're reporting a crime. 5 years should be long enough to make enough progress on DQ12 to show us something. And I'd play DQ8 again if they remade it. But only as 1 game, I'm not buying part 1 of anything ever again.

There are nearly 100mil PS5 sold, so I'm not sure how much GTA or any game can do pushing hardware sales up. GTA 6 also releases, if it makes it's date, 2 months after Wolverine, which may drive sales of it's own.

GTA 6 may push some Pro sales this holiday if it releases on time but honestly I'm not expecting a big POP. 100 million is already quite a large install base for a 5 year old console. And with the recent PS5 price increase wouldn't people have just bought it now before it went into effect??

If you get a message from Sony about GTA6 and buy a PS5 now, and then GTA6 gets delayed yet again, this time into 2027, will Sony let you return your PS5 for a full refund?

I've never played GTA V, wonder of I'll get a message to "try out something new". I already have a PS5 but they could also try to talk me into purchasing a Pro, where I'm sure they'll promote it as "playing best". Like it's some kind of remarkable miracle it plays best on a $900 console.

They're doing it backwards. People don't buy new hardware b/c we like spending money on plastic, we do it to play games. So the time to release new video game hardware is when you have software that your current hardware can't run. And considering the overlap with PS4 and PS5 games, the time to launch new PS6 hardware is probably about 3 years later than they think it is, b/c we'll be able to play all of our games on PS5.

So, show me the PS6 only games, then start talking to me about hardware. Is anyone out there waiting on a next gen game they know their PS5 won't be able to handle? Elder scrolls 6 maybe? I don't follow the PC gaming scene that much so there are probably a couple.

So until there are a few PS6 exclusives I really want to play, then I don't need a PS6, not on any date, at any price. I game for the games, I'm weird like that. 🤪

@nhSnork That starter car is not cut out for racing.😂 I'm still working on my time math but I think I did that 200 second race in 3:20.023 or some such. Which makes me think I missed it by literally a fraction of a second. Though I could be wrong. I only race Kart games, I need a drift button. 😁 It is much better for getting around than the scooter over long distances. I still mostly just run, finding birds and anomalies along the way.

I had 2 notifications on my phone and iPad yesterday for games on my Wishlist on sale, Sea of Stars (or something similarly titled) that I ignored b/c I already played it, and Tides of Annilation on ale fir $40 from $60 that said it ended 5/7 so today. I clicked on that 1 b/c my kid wants to play it.

So maybe they were clearing everything out today before a big new sale starts tomorrow? Sales starting on Friday for the payday working folk would be a nice weekly update.

Edit: Just checked and it was Sea of Solitude and List Soul Aside on sale, not whatever I said earlier. And currently not a single game on my very long Wishlist is on sale, and I don't think that has ever happened before. So yeah, I'm guessing BIG SALE to be announced imminently, they're just clearing out all the old sales first. Games WILL be on sale again. I mean have you heard of Ubisoft?

While I appreciate the PS2/PS3 vibe I don't feel like it's going to come together very well. Like, I could see a group of guys sitting around, enjoying a few adult beverages, and being like "Hey, remember that game War of the Monsters? Wouldn't it be cool if you could be those little people and drive those little cars around. And maybe you could be a person that becomes one of the monsters like in Rampage?"

And then they decided to make a game like that. But they never stopped to think if they should.

Sort of on topic but your 2035 come to has me thinking, you old enough to remember the PS2 era, when like every month a good action game or JRPG game released? Like there were always too many games to play, constantly releasing. I kind of miss that, as I wait for 5+ years for DQ12. DQ8 was 1 of my favorite PS2 games in a sea of JRPGs. Over 20 years ago. 20 years to get from 8 to 12. It's over for me.

I find it more interesting that MS is taking it off of Xbox One after all these years. I don't have any numbers in front of me but I'm assuming MS has sold more X1 than Series X/S. Then they bought CoD. To take it off X1. And take it off Gamepass.

Oh well, maybe they'll finally start that 10 years of Switch support.😝

Sure, they include some stuff not found in the Switch versions of the games, but if the game is $80 and you can't buy it any cheaper than $80 then it's still $80.

And Donkey Kong Bananza was a $70 game a/ a $20 dlc about a month later. All of the seasonal activities in the game since then have been dlc dependent .

I still haven't played GTAV so I don't care how they price it but the $80 cat is out of the bag. 🤑

@get2sammyb I think the quest @PneumaPilot was talking about was the scam anomaly boxes at all the different shops. At the end you had to sit down and answer a series of questions. It was fairly long to do it all, and not exactly "fun".

I had the 1 scene driving Yinyuan's car, 150 much better than the scooters 40. I mostly just run and fast travel now. Just finished day 1 of Tagedo main story. Can see why you didn't like that one. I'm all about the character interactions myself. Tagedo is the new Bangoo, which was my favorite part of ZZZ. 😁

I liked both HZD and HFW and would gladly play a 3rd, but I'm not even sure what this is. Seems like it's made for the Fortnite crowd, not us, and there are a lot more of them than us, so I think we should wait and see how this 1 does before writing it off.

I think I read recently kids are starting to leave Roblox, so maybe some of them will come to this.

Surprised to see 3/4 on PS5 & PC, really thought this was a mobile kind of thing.

So what are people spending all their money on? I've only put a few hours in but don't forsee the pay to win aspect any time soon. Maybe in a couple of years when they lock some type of end game boss. I have over 500 hours in Infinity Nikki and I can't imagine spending any money on that either. Though if you're into collecting digital clothes I suppose I could see it.

Well glad to see it's doing well, I could see me playing it long term. And they do really need to watch out fir ANANTA, which looks just like NTE but w/ the Venom symbiote on your characters. I could certainly see that siphoning off some players.

20 hours sounds good. Long enough to feel fulfilled by the end, short enough to borrow it from the library.
