I don’t play enough of these games b/c I really can’t tell what this is. I want to say it’s Monster Hunter, but it really doesn’t feel like that. I see they borrowed the storm from Fortnite but I have played enough Fortnite, recently just sorta stopped, to know this isn’t that either. Maybe if I played it then it would click, but not sure I want too. Maybe.
Does anyone know how this works? Free to play? $40 game w/ a season pass? PS+ required for online? I’m guessing it’s not just a straight up $70 game.
My kid just finished Hollow Knight like last week. That's some bad timing right there. Too difficult for me regardless. A man's got to know his limitations.
I don't really like the 2D-HD look but the rest of this game looked good enough I might eb willing to overlook it. Another game like MHS3 that I'm surprised is coming to PS5 day 1, it looks so Switch. And by that I mean it looks like a 3DS game. Did I mention I don't like 2D-HD? 😂
This certainly feels like a game that could use a demo with that weird shoiting-hacking gameplay mechanic. Looks like somebody dropped the Zenless Zone Zero boards onto the Vanquish world.
Will probably try it out on both PS5 and Switch 2 just to see how well Switch 2 can keep up. It looked kinda rough in the showcase.
@ShogunRok Another link from sister site NL. They should pay you per link.😉 Your review sold me on Granbkue but think I'll be skipping Digimon after reading this. I've already watched my kid play FF7:REBIRTH so I don't need to come back for that one.😁
@ShogunRok Thanks. Guess you can disregard my previous comment. Glad I missed it 4 years ago, may even pay the full $60 this summer and not wait, seems worth it.
@ShogunRok Found my way back here from the Granbkue Fantasy Relink Switch port news, NL posted links in the article. Never did get around to this one though I did finally play GoW:R and Spiderman 2. Baby steps,
You think PS5 will get the Switch version w/ the 2 extra characters? It's like every game needs to be DQ11 w/ multiple ports and titles changing things up every gen. I'd still rather play on PS5 than Switch 2, my hands have been molded tonDualshocks after nearly 30 years. And don't even get me started on the Accept + Cancel buttons being opposite.😩
Just so I’m clear, a game that released in 2022 as OW2 is now going to be called simply OW and it’s having it’s “Season 1”, one, now after all these years?
I think I’m glad I never started playing OW. The original OW, not OW 2 renamed as OW. 😝
Didn't some FF head honcho already confirm this about a month ago when talking about a simultaneous release of part 3 on Switch 2? I'll go find a link BRB...
Edit: So while I couldn't find a definitive confirmation of a simultaneous release I did find this quote from way back in October of last year, which I read as implying it.
"But obviously, before then, people who haven't played Final Fantasy VII Remake yet, this is such a good opportunity to do so now that it's coming out on the Switch 2. The whole series is coming to the Switch 2, so if you want to play it, have a go with the first one, you won't regret it, and then we can all play the third game together and it enjoy it together in real time."
Well maybe when you finish galavanting you'll have time.😉
You know if Sony does make some sort of Portal PS6 hybrid and they keep getting all of these mobile Gatcha (that's how my phone spell checks gacha and I don't know how to undo it) games they could give Switch 2 a run for it's money in Asia as Nintendo seems allergic to Hoyoverse and the like. Then maybe you'll be able to retire here after all. Place wouldn't be the same w/o you anyway. 😁
Wow you guys covered Speedstorm? That's a surprise.
Lightning will almost certainly be paid and we'll get some racer no one has heard of too unlock. Though I'd be happy with the old guy b/c I'm an old guy.
What's probably going to be more interesting for players is the track, Rafiator Springs looks pretty good.
Not a fan of the look or really most of the other stuff so thankfully a pass for me as I wait for 7 Deadly Sins which kind of looks like Breath of the Windwaker.
Did MKW sell 10 million copies are does that include those bundled w/ the consol? I know it was an extra $50 but still.
If Sega expected Sonic to do Mario numbers they're delerious.
Selling a $60 game w/ a $30 season pass should hurt game sales just on principle. They'll sell the complete game for the price of the dlc in a year.
I'm still playing Disney Speedstorm for free. It looks and controls much better than Sonic on PS5. I can't recommend it now though, too pay to play, basically a trial or demo, but since I started free from the beginning it's all I need. I own MKW and don't even play it, which makes me sad after waiting a decade after 8 on Wii U. (We never double dipped on Switch)
@ShogunRok Thanks for the review, was waiting on this one. I think you talked me out of playing it though as I was on the fence anyway. Time travel, backtracking, different stories, all just not my thing.
You ever brainstorm w/ Ant about making a mobile free to play Gatcha game website similar to Damo's pet Time Extension? Not to question your Sony loyalty but I think the writing is on the wall for consoles and Gatcha games seem to be getting bigger all the time. (Not to be confused w/ failing all the time multi-player games.) I mean you still seem to be there, and nobody here knows this stuff better than you. 20 years is a pretty good run. You're still young, got your future to think of. And I think the future is mobile, sad to say.
@get2sammyb You may have talked me into 7 Deadly Sins when it releases, seems better than starting Genshin now. No Infinity Nikki seems weird but I think it does show you don't need a million characters to sell items. Unless the game is dying then never mind. 🤑
I'm currently rewatching subtitled Mobile Fighter G Gundam, only had seen the dubbed before now, and it's probably as bad as people say but I still like it a lot. I suppose Rain 98 is a different Rain though.😂
@BearsEatBeets I'm assuming it's like 80% game 1 w/ 20% new material back story for Thor, his wife, their daughter, Odin, and self-righteous her face guy. Mostly talking about how Kratos killed their 2 sons and how he's coming for the rest of them to fulfill the prophecy. Can't make a TV show about Ragnarok w/o a lot of prophecy talk.
"Myself, my team and our project Beyond Good and Evil 2 are unaffected by the recent changes."
They were probably unaffected b/c the people in charge of making all of these decisions probably weren't aware this game and this team were still an ongoing thing.
@Aventurier You're welcome. I only play co-op w/ my wife and kids at home, not online, so I always come into these articles excited then leave disappointed. Last year was particularly bad as I wanted to play Funko Pop w/ my wife but somehow that game has no couch co-op even though it looks like most games that do. And I was hoping Mario & Luigi Brothership would have it, but no. And Lego Horizon reviewed as 1 of the worst Lego games, so it didn't seem worth the money. We'll play it someday.
@ATaco I think half of the 15 games in the article don't have couch co-op either so I don't feel all that bad about it. I mean I'm pretty sure neither of those Star Wars games have co-op of any kind, which, to you're point, is why AI sucks, but it got the point across well enough I think. Or maybe not.
@BearsEatBeets I noticed that as well, getting actors for characters who weren't even in the first game, which makes me happy, b/c it should be better this way, and flow better as 1 long running TV show than as 2 sepeeate games. I think Last of Us should have done the same, I suspect people won't be happy with only Abbey in season 3. If it ever comes out. Going to go check now if they started filming it yet.
The dislike Thor has for Odin, and and that gatekeeper jerk, could use some back story screen time.
@Quintumply Did this really need to be 3 pages? You really couldnt get it to function on 1? (feel free to throw Ant or grandpa under the bus for that one 😝)
As someone who is always looking for co-op games to play w/ my wife, and by co-op I mean the traditional meaning of 2 people playing on 1 screen on 1 couch, this list kinda sucks. I mean sure its technically co-op but besides It Takes Two I’m really not feeling it.
But don’t worry, I’m not here just to be critical, I’m here to help. For those looking to pay to rent games in a service o play w/ others the PS5 also has access to EA (um something) for $5.99 per month. We currently have it, paid for my kid to pay Jedi Surivior, and y wife and I will be playing Unraveled Two and possibly The Way Out or whatever that prison break game is called.
You know, since we;re talking about paying to rent coop games on the PS5 might as well list them all. I believe It Takes Two is also on there for those who don’t have PS+.
Edit: AI summary of games:
Other top EA Play co-op titles on PS5 include:
Unravel Two – A charming, physics-based platformer where two yarn creatures navigate imaginative environments.
A Way Out – A narrative-driven co-op adventure with a cinematic story, best experienced with a friend.
FIFA 23 – The final installment in the FIFA series, featuring easy couch co-op and online multiplayer for soccer fans.
The Sims 4 – A life simulation game with deep customization, supporting local co-op for up to four players.
Need for Speed Heat – A high-octane racing game with day/night cycles and police chases, playable in split-screen.
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 – A fun, fast-paced team-based FPS with unique characters and cooperative objectives.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – A single-player action-adventure game, but its companion title Jedi: Survivor is also available on EA Play and offers similar co-op-like pacing in a shared universe.
Pretty cool. Don't know why the loud music rather than talking it up but I guess that's how videos are made these days.
Switch 2 is basically PS4 power in a smaller box so Sony could do it if they wanted too. Getting a PS5 in a handheld is going to take some doing though.
I still wish Nintendo would do the opposite and make a Switch 2 w/o the screen, battery, dock or magnetic rails. Has to be a decent $ savings for a brick w/ tv out for old folk who just want to game on their tvs. Maybe enough to make it worth while. Switch Lite didn't switch or have TV out, they sold that.
@Gamer83 @Optimus Jdge is great, like Men in Black alien great, but I don't think he needed another cover just 8 years after the first. I might feel different if he helped them win the WS, or, ya know, get them there. But alas. Maybe marketing found he sells. Not like the game isn't digital anyway. At least it's a better selection than Sanders in the Pro Bowl. 🤪
@IronCrow86 Judging by the comments Canada may have cared if they got a deserving Blue Jay. 😁
Did we really need that last Met standing picture to go with a Yankee announcement. My team has been enough of an embarrassment as it is. Though I suppose last week was an improvement but still.😝
Not sure why Judge again, should have given someone on Toronto a shot after making it to the WS, like Springer or Vlad Jr. Bo Bichette would have been funny but I doubt they have that much of a sense of humor.😂
I’m probably never getting a PS6 so I don’t are but if i was planning on getting one it would be after I got a 8k TV, which I’m also never planning on getting b/c 4k tv is fine by me. And most of what I watch on it isn’t even in 4k anyway, still 1080p.
How much better do we need video game graphics to look that it’s worth hundreds of dollars?
I’m not saying things need to stand still, we got a Switch 2 b/c the Switch graphics were really falling behind on my 4k tv, especially compared to all of the PS5 games I was playing. But Switch 2 is basically fine for me, I don’t need a Switch 3 either.
If you need PS6 graphics that bad to enjoy video games you should perhaps watch a movie instead. I think they’ve reached photorealistic enough for me. Clair Obscur was all I need, and that was a smaller indie team. Though to be fair I prefer color like Astrobot, Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest over the dull brown of most photorealistic games.
Not saying they shouldn’t make a new console, it’s their business, but no rush until we et 8k TVs as a standard. If e ever do. Maybe Sony should just focus on making cheaper PS5 Slim instead so more people can buy the games they make. Like how Japan got a cheaper PS5.
Only games I’m really looking forward to are Wolverine, FF7 part 3 and DQ 12. And a couple on Switch 2 that won’t be in this. So I’m finding it difficult to get excited about anything game related these days. I know there are a ton of games coming out but what I like is limited to basically JRPG and 3D platformers. I’ll play other games, but these game shows haven’t had me excited in years. Maybe a decade even.
Still too busy playing Infinity Nikki for anything else. So much so I stopped playing Fortnite after 3 years b/c I’ve run out of free time.
Nikki had a similar big 2.0 last year followed by 2.1 which was all about raising a behemoth which looked great in the trailer but it’s just awful monotonous bust work I’m struggling to get through. But 2.2 this week has fireworks and mahjong, so hopefully an improvement.
But if the Niki update is lame again I might try out Where Winds Meet as its new, 3.0 seems a little late.
I don’t see how or why Microsoft makes another next gen home console. If they want to make a handheld w/ tv out, preferably wireless like airplay, that’s fine, I don’t think the market has settled on a handheld winner yet, it’s still a developing market segment, but no new big $500 box, it’s over.
For 2 reasons. Squenix likes overly long stupid names, see Kingdom Hearts Chapter 2.8 Prologue or whatever it’s called. And they need to reconcile the original with the remake as so far they’ve just been moving them further and further apart.
Bonus reason, I hate it, so seems like something Squenix would do.
It was great in rebirth, including its storyline, which probably could have stood as an indie game all by itself, but I would prefer in part 3 if they just kept it as a card game without all of the lore and focused on the lore of the main storyline instead. They’re really going to have their hands full trying to tie this all up.
So have an optional tournament in each town, maybe even a global one, but no important story beats, just treat it like triple triad in FF8.
If we were told this was a “life sim” set in the world of the Witcher and made by CDPR would we have any reason not to believe it? 🤷🏻♂️
Not sure about this one, a bit too brown for my liking, but I’ve been following the Fable series and curious about it for years so it’s at least nice I’ll have the option to play it if I so decide.
That short trailer showed me nothing besides brown though. But I’m guessing there will be plenty more to see between now and release. No rush to decide.
Admittedly I don’t know how these things work exactly but spinning off their tv business into a “joint venture” w/ TCL that Sony will still own 49% of the new company doesn’t sound like Sony is completely out of the tv game to me, especially with Sony and Brava still being printed on the TVs themselves.
I’m guessing Sony is more of a marketing partner at this point than a manufacturer or innovator but they’ll still be getting paid so it still sounds like they’re in the tv business to me.
I read everything these days as tax advantage business transactions, great for a few company owners, bad for the employees and customers.
You all read about Saks et al? Shell games and ponzu schemes.🤑
I don’t follow any of the online multiplayer games all that much. Is there any chance this game can take off on PC but fail on PS5? I feel like these games are made for PC where you don’t have to pay extra to play online. And Sony doesn’t kill the game in 2 weeks after release.
Having Bungie attached to it should help on PC, maybe evenXbox, I just feel like the PS5 gaming community is so anti-online right now.
@Judal27 The blades in XC2 were certainly a form of gatcha. My kids and I tried forever to get KOSMOS but we never did. There were a couple of other good ones as well, but KOSMOS is is KOSMOS.
Hopefully Monolithsoft never goes that route. I don’t mind gatcha games but there aren’t as many JRPG games I like as much as theirs. I hope their next game is Xeno related, but not Blade, 4 games is enough for a trilogy. I’ll make time for their next game, whatever it is.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Story Will Continue in New HBO TV Show
A TV show that rakes place AFTER a game that probably most tv viewers haven't played is a choice.
Think I'll stick to Vox Machina and Mighty Nein for ny D&D tv.
Re: Morrowind-Inspired Open World RPG Dread Delusion Adventures to PS5 This Spring
I think I got this game included with my Voodoo graphics card.

Wait, this is coming to PS5 day 1? Kinda shocked to find this out but I guess everyone else already knew.
Always a busy day on Pushsquare when Nintendo has a 3rd party Direct. Who needs States of Play? 😎

"gallivanting"
The act of spending so many hours playing so many Gatcha games you die from sleep depravation and lack of eating.

Still not over Judge being back on the cover. Will be checking the news every day for his season ending injury. 😎

Re: MLB The Show 26 PS5 Release Date, Cover Star Officially Revealed
@Gamer83 @Optimus Jdge is great, like Men in Black alien great, but I don't think he needed another cover just 8 years after the first. I might feel different if he helped them win the WS, or, ya know, get them there. But alas. Maybe marketing found he sells. Not like the game isn't digital anyway. At least it's a better selection than Sanders in the Pro Bowl. 🤪
@IronCrow86 Judging by the comments Canada may have cared if they got a deserving Blue Jay. 😁
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Dev Explains Why It's Not Upgrading to Unreal Engine 5 for Third Chapter
They likely would have added years to the dev cycle if they had switched engines for part 3 so thank goodness they didn’t.
And benefit to them, they can now move to UE5 for the inevitable PS6 trilogy and not worry about porting it to Switch 2. Maybe Switch 3 later.
Re: MLB The Show 26 Release Date, Cover Star Leaked Early
Did we really need that last Met standing picture to go with a Yankee announcement. My team has been enough of an embarrassment as it is. Though I suppose last week was an improvement but still.😝
Not sure why Judge again, should have given someone on Toronto a shot after making it to the WS, like Springer or Vlad Jr. Bo Bichette would have been funny but I doubt they have that much of a sense of humor.😂
Re: Sony Set to Delay PS6 Release Date, Claims Financial Report
Re: PlayStation State of Play Is Locked in for February, It's Claimed
Only games I’m really looking forward to are Wolverine, FF7 part 3 and DQ 12. And a couple on Switch 2 that won’t be in this. So I’m finding it difficult to get excited about anything game related these days. I know there are a ton of games coming out but what I like is limited to basically JRPG and 3D platformers. I’ll play other games, but these game shows haven’t had me excited in years. Maybe a decade even.
Re: In a Sea of PS5 Gacha Games, Wuthering Waves Brings Another Big Update Next Month
Re: Xbox Will Try to Deliver PS5 Ports on Launch Day More Consistently
I don’t see how or why Microsoft makes another next gen home console. If they want to make a handheld w/ tv out, preferably wireless like airplay, that’s fine, I don’t think the market has settled on a handheld winner yet, it’s still a developing market segment, but no new big $500 box, it’s over.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Has an Official Name at Square Enix
Only b/c I haven’t seen anyone say it yet
Final Fantasy 7 Reconciliation
For 2 reasons. Squenix likes overly long stupid names, see Kingdom Hearts Chapter 2.8 Prologue or whatever it’s called. And they need to reconcile the original with the remake as so far they’ve just been moving them further and further apart.
Bonus reason, I hate it, so seems like something Squenix would do.
Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Has an Official Name at Square Enix
Final Fantasy 7 Finally Finished
Re: Queen's Blood will Return 'Enhanced' in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3
It was great in rebirth, including its storyline, which probably could have stood as an indie game all by itself, but I would prefer in part 3 if they just kept it as a card game without all of the lore and focused on the lore of the main storyline instead. They’re really going to have their hands full trying to tie this all up.
So have an optional tournament in each town, maybe even a global one, but no important story beats, just treat it like triple triad in FF8.
Re: Amid Many Delays and Cancellations, Beyond Good and Evil 2 Is Still Alive at Ubisoft
Knack 3 will release before BG&E 2.
This game is my favorite long running joke on PS.
Edit: Also on Nintendo Life since 2016 as well.

Re: Gacha Arknights: Endfield Launched with Arguably the Worst Bug in Video Game History
It’s not a bug it’s a feature of gacha games.
Re: In a Sea of Live Service, Ghost of Yotei Was the Third Best-Selling PS5 Game of 2025 in the US
This reminds me… whoever I was discussing multiplayer vs single player games on Sony consoles w/ well it looks like you were right. Kudos 👍
Re: Fable Announced for PS5, Releases in Autumn 2026
If we were told this was a “life sim” set in the world of the Witcher and made by CDPR would we have any reason not to believe it? 🤷🏻♂️
Not sure about this one, a bit too brown for my liking, but I’ve been following the Fable series and curious about it for years so it’s at least nice I’ll have the option to play it if I so decide.
That short trailer showed me nothing besides brown though. But I’m guessing there will be plenty more to see between now and release. No rush to decide.
Re: Prince of Persia Series Isn't Dead Yet Despite Remake Cancellation
Maybe someone will make a new PoP game, but I’m beginning to doubt it will be Ubi at this point.
Cancel the games
Fire everyone
Sell the company to PIF or Tencent
Profit (if you’re high enough up for a golden parachute)
Ubi feels not well.

Re: Amazon Adds Yet Another Cast Member to Its God of War TV Series
A little more Fandriel the Dashing than Heimdal but I can see it.
Re: The End of an Era: Sony Spins Off Iconic Television Business

Re: Marathon PS5 Officially Dated for 5th March, Up for Pre-Order at $40
I don’t follow any of the online multiplayer games all that much.
Re: Yes, RPG Arknights: Endfield Is Absolutely Looking Like PS5's Next Big Gacha Hit
