The thing with gacha games is that the fun truly never ends, and so after its milestone v3.0 update on Christmas Day, the excellent Wuthering Waves is back with another update, due out on 5th February.

For You Who Walk in Snow, as v3.1 is named, will continue Rover’s main quest on Lahai-Roi, this time taking the protagonist to the Frostlands Surface as part of the main story.

In addition to two new Resonators – Aemeath and Luuk Herssen – as well as their signature weapons, you can anticipate various events, including one where Rover will be doing a spot of bartending as part of a minigame similar to the one in Honkai: Star Rail.

There’ll also be an arcade-style minigame featuring the new motorbike added in the previous update, alongside new bosses, enemies, and various gameplay optimisations.

To dig into the nature of some of these improvements, Kuro has updated staircase animations so that Rover’s feet now actually touch every step. While a very minor thing, previously characters walked up stairs as though they were simple slopes.

The dev’s also made some adjustments to the aforementioned motorbike, enabling it to now traverse water, thus making open world navigation much more streamlined.

All in all, while this doesn’t have the shock and awe of the previous update – which was undoubtedly bursting with content – there’s still a ton to engage with here.

How we’re supposed to keep up with this as well as the likes of Arknights: Endfield and Zenless Zone Zero, though, we’ll never know.
