Ghost of Yotei must have made Sony a pretty penny, because the PS5 exclusive ended up being the third best-selling title of 2025 on PS5 in the US.
As per Circana's data (thanks as always Mat Piscatella), the first-party exclusive was the only single player release in the entire top ten, with every other spot being taken up by the usual live service suspects.
To be clear, these charts only take new releases into account, so it doesn't factor in the dollar sales of existing juggernauts like Fortnite and the like. Still, this is a big win for PlayStation Studios, especially given the competition.

Yotei was topped only by Battlefield 6 — the best-selling title across all platforms for 2025 — and annual sports colossus NBA 2K26.
Here's the full top ten:
- Battlefield 6
- NBA 2K26
- Ghost of Yotei
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
- Madden NFL 26
- EA Sports College Football 26
- MLB: The Show 26
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- EA Sports FC 26
- Forza Horizon 5
Sucker Punch's samurai epic also put in a fairly strong performance on the PS Store download charts for the year, which we covered earlier this month.
The open world title did better in North America than in Europe, so when you combine those results with this Circana chart, it becomes clear that Yotei's been a big hit over in the States.
Of course, Ghost of Yotei won't technically be considered a single player game much longer, as its Legends multiplayer mode is still set to launch at some point in 2026. We'd expect to hear about that free DLC in the near future.
