Playground Games won't just have Forza Horizon 6 to put out on PS5 this year: it's now confirmed it is making Fable for PS5 too, and it's launching day and date with the Xbox Series X|S and PC versions this Autumn 2026. Catch the newest gameplay teaser above.
While the first three Fable games never made their way across to PlayStation, this new entry is a "new beginning" that's "designed to capture the heart and humor that defined the original trilogy while bringing contemporary storytelling, world design, and player agency to the forefront. Fans of the classic games will recognize the series’ signature blend of choice and consequence, dry British wit, and playful moral chaos – yes, chickens included."

Here are some new screenshots to accompany the gameplay reveal:
The game will be entirely open world, and the combat in it is focused on "a new style weaving philosophy" that lets you "fluidly blend melee, ranged, and magic to create their preferred fighting identity. Classic Fable creatures make a return, alongside new threats that fit the tone of a world balancing fairytale charm with modern action RPG depth."
It will be out on PS5 day and date with other platforms this Autumn 2026. Are you happy to have Fable on PS5? Let us know in the comments below.

Love to see it.
Xbox exclusives are now well and truly dead. If it wasn't obvious already.
No better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Xbox than by bringing all the flagship exclusive franchises to PlayStation
Not interested but calling it now… be delayed into 2027
Honestly, this looks fantastic, so glad they have kept the heart of what made Fable Fable in the first place, looking like a day 1 purchase
Edit: I will say the combat looked a lot like Witcher 3, I'll leave that up to you if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Looks alright. I don't know why this took over 6 years to make, but it has potential.
The Xbox game i was most excited for. And while i liked the ideas, i’m not quite that excited anymore. Never played a Fable game before, so i thought this might be it. I mean, it’s alright, but it just didn’t really appeal that much to me unfortunately, but will still keep an eye on it.
Also, was it me or was the traversal/combat slow and jittery?
Fable looked fantastic, glad they kept true to the originals with alot of the features like buying houses, consequences and kicking chickens.
They nailed the art style and the tech looks incredible
designed to capture the heart and humor that defined the original trilogy while bringing contemporary storytelling, world design, and player agency to the forefront.
Such as companions in your ear every 10 seconds telling you how to finish the puzzle, yellow paint in case you get lost, a map full of icons and busywork, and generative AI because its Microsoft.
And for true player agency, when the game inevitably doesn't meet expectations and they need more AI money, you'll get free player agency in playing something else as they shut the studio.
Never in doubt… well, that it would come to ps5 that is. Though I did doubt whether it would release in 2026 when all the rumours circulated in late 2025.
Looks like it could be my cup of tea… might make it my fourth Xbox game this year to celebrate their anniversary. Yeah, Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable feels right.
It looks cool, but also like many other games in its genre. Honestly, not much stood out for me. I’m still interested, and I’ll more than likely play it, but unfortunately this trailer didn’t do much to get me hyped. Also, out of a personal preference, I kind of like the more cartoony look of the original games.
@Questionable_Duck I mean everything is an Xbox now.
Honestly would love to see the original fable get a port, use to play that on the og xbox
I'm looking forward to it, but I really need to see a gameplay showcase, also with the change of the morality system, I hope they keep the devil and angel transformations somehow.
Man I haven't played a Fable game since 3 released wayyyy back in 2010. Super cool that it's back and releasing this year.
Fable looks great, and I hope it hits its Autumn 2026 date.
I truly hope this game won't get delayed. It looked so good. I only played the original Fable game in the past, but now I feel like I'll have to play the two others to catch up.
Also, BEAST OF REINCARNATION. ***** AM I HYPED FOR THAT GAME.
Playground Games single-handedly holding up the Xbox brand.
Got my eye on this one. Didn’t understand the hate the character reveal initially received; people come in all different shapes, sizes and colors. If she’s written well and likeable, I don’t care what she looks like. I’m more concerned with whether this will recapture the quirky nature of the original Fable, or if it’ll be more like the lackluster sequels that kind of dropped the ball. Hoping it’ll be good!
@Balaam_ Because if the women don't look like Eve or Lara Croft the X thing must be woke....
@Questionable_Duck stop complaining, get your wallet. Fable suddenly after this presentation became one of strongest contestants for GOTY 26, not to mention its sales on each platform will be massive. It looks awesome, gameplay looks awesome and all the features explained sound awesome. Yay!
@Haruki_NLI What generative AI? Where do you people come up with this stuff?
@Leinad7 It does look really good actually I agree.
@Leinad7
That’s certainly an opinion, and a very premature one.
Personally, i found it a bit underwhelming, but to each their own
Please don't be crap...please don't be crap
Got to make their money back after so long in development - so sell it EVERYWHERE day/date as PC/Xbox customers may well Subscribe to Game Pass to get to play it cheaper.
Glad to see its looking very faithful to the OG Fable Trilogy despite a new Development team - I had concerns they would lose 'something' with a new Developer (Halo and Gears did) but it seems they really do understand what made Fable the games they were, inc the world, the humour, the game-play loop etc...
@Oram77 True...
@LogicStrikesAgain It’s premature, we haven’t play the game yet, but if they deliver what they shared, it is very possible.
I played the original Fables for the first time within last 4 years and must say they are awesome.
And if we speak of „underwhelming” that is the feeling I got after cartoony Wolverine presentation, that everyone argued with me looks so mature and violent, yet colourful like a damn cartoon.
Looking really great! Fable is certainly among my favorite Xbox games and this looks like it's capturing that spirit beautifully. I'm 100% looking forward to this!
@RBMango made a lot of video games have you? 😉
Tempting, tempting........ tempting.
Another one of those "please prove me wrong" games like Crimson Desert.
Want it to be good, but I have serious concerns.
I'm pretty tolerant and e.g. turned into a big fanboy of Avowed. But this one has more red flags for me than that ever had.
@Leinad7 Lol, dont know what Wolverine has to do with it, but fair enough thanks for sharing
Me and the kids might do our wicks on this one!
@LogicStrikesAgain Because they couldn't possibly give Sony any sort of credit otherwise it's make them feel unclean or something ...
@LogicStrikesAgain We just exchanged our personal, subjective definitions of being underwhelmed by something. Nothing more, relax
I thought it looked okay. I didn't really get a sense that you can be truly evil in what was shown, and I found the screen shake during combat very jarring, but I loved the overall aesthetic of it.
Say want you want about them, fanboy all you want about Sony. Yet there is no denying Xbox put together far better showcases than Sony has in a generation.
This game looks very promising.
@Leinad7 can we get some nintendo games on playstation?
Removed - off-topic
@nomither6 I would love to. Nintendo has awesome games. Always had. Best childhood memories are related with Nintendo games. The old ones, new ones age great but the classics the older ones <3
Removed - off-topic
@KundaliniRising333 As a Series X (and soon to be PS5 Pro owner), Xbox always delivers the best 1st and 3rd party showcases that everyone can enjoy. The only PS game I am interested in for the next few years on the PS side is Wolverine, and I can watch a State of Play for that nearer the launch date.
I knew it was coming but it's still really nice to have it confirmed. Bring on the quirky!
@KundaliniRising333 Showcases aren’t important in the grand scheme of gaming things.
There are certain ''things'' that have no place in a heroic fantasy game.
I'm remaining cautiously optimistic for this one. I love the orignal trilogy, despite it really peaking with the first game/parts of the second, but you never know what you're going to get with a Fable title (the whole second act in the third game for example!)...plus we have a new studio developing this title, so everything has a question mark over it.
With that said, it's looking rather nice, and it's great news to see that a) it's not fallen fowl to being cancelled, and b) it's coming to Playstation day and date. If it's Pro enhanced it should be the best place to play too (outside of having a top PC).
@Leinad7 Whatever you say 😎
Ugh. Can we stop using the awful phrase, "day and date." Just say it's coming out on the same day. 🤮
Awwwwwwwww yis
looks good to me. the casting choices so far give me confidence that there are a lot of other British comedy icons to be revealed between now and release date.
and as somebody who hates souls like games, dodge parry, etc, the combat being a bit like Witcher 3 is not a negative for me
looking forward to this a lot.
This made my day. Day one buy for me now! 😁
If we were told this was a “life sim” set in the world of the Witcher and made by CDPR would we have any reason not to believe it? 🤷🏻♂️
Not sure about this one, a bit too brown for my liking, but I’ve been following the Fable series and curious about it for years so it’s at least nice I’ll have the option to play it if I so decide.
That short trailer showed me nothing besides brown though. But I’m guessing there will be plenty more to see between now and release. No rush to decide.
@ButterySmooth30FPS sadly so many games announced on recent xbox showcases have been cancelled!
Wonderful news, was really hoping for this. The game looks fantastic! I hope they bring back the property purchasing, with more personalisation and depth possibly.
Also werewolves. Dear gods are we lacking in werewolves in videogames, don’t let us down Chicken Chaser!
@Cambrius It's the same when Americans say fall rather than Autumn lol.
@Hyena_socks property purchasing was announced in the direct.
one decision you make can result in a dead giant carcass on the ground, which is said to impact property prices!
@darylb24 my company (UK) IT system just updated and dates in outlook are in the American format now. I feel sick haha
@Dimey thanks! I just saw it in the trailer watching it a second time too. Hopefully it’ll be developed nicely, loved how it was implemented in 3
When I borrowed a friends 360 many years ago the Fable games were the only ones I truly enjoyed of the ones I tried. So this looks very promising to me.
Still much to learn so I will wait for reviews but this is the first Xbox game I'm interested in.
Cool. Looks like you create your own character. Hoping we get the OG trilogy as well.
@Dimey DD/MM/YYYY for life!
Sure, if this manages to get a physical release where the whole game is actually on the disc, sign me up.
The probability is low….
@RBMango A lot of back end studio stuff... Playground Games has only ever made racing games. They didn't have the talent to develop something like this... They had to basically open a whole other studio and hire staff. Not to mention they are using the ForzaTech engine for this game. So who even knows the amount of work they went through to modify the engine to support a non racing game... Especially if you want it to support system like in game marriage, child, housing, combat... etc. It the same problem Bioware had with using Frostbite. But at least that engine has probably support for human animation... etc
EDIT: It why studio are ditching internal engines, and going UE5. Cut down development time
Best gaming news I've heard all day👍
Ubisoft, take notes! That's how you bring back a franchise, not by toiling at it for years only to give it up in the end...
@AverageGamer “
They didn’t have the talent”
That’s why Playground has been hiring senior RPG talent from 2017 devs from Rockstar, CDPR, BioWare, Lionhead (original Fable devs), Guerrilla, etc. Talent ≠ past genre.
“Only ever made racing games”
Studios aren’t people with one skillset. Teams change. Naughty Dog went from Crash Bandicoot to The Last of Us. Guerrilla went from Killzone to Horizon. Same deal.
ForzaTech ≠ Frostbite problem
This is a bad comparison: Frostbite was forced across EA studios with poor tooling and support. ForzaTech is Playground’s own engine, built in-house, by engineers who can change it freely. It already supported open worlds, NPCs, weather, physics, animation blending not just “cars go vroom”.
it's 2026 nobody cares where you play your games
More extensive gameplay showcase would have been better to see for a game that has been in development for this long. Quick clips make me nervous compared to us seeing 10 mins of continuous gameplay.
Shocked they couldn't put together a vertical slice for this showcase.
@Americansamurai1
Fable Anniversary-Fable 3 would be a great collection them to release on PS at some point.
Fable 2 is my personal favourite “The time is very late!”
I know nothing about fable but this looks great.
N.i.c.e fable looks really good.ps5 is getting all the x box games and more to come.the gameplay looks much better.i like the magic alsoand the graphics looks good also.word up son
Looks really good and il be there day one, same for Beast of Reincarnation. What a year for PS5 2026 is going to be.
And yes news just in… it is snowing in hell
@UltimateOtaku91 I don't know how I feel about Beast of Reincarnation, it looked a little generic (?) but I did get massive Nier vibes from it, I think I just need to see more of it I guess.
@Styledvinny79
I think it will Gears E day that gets delayed now.
@Cambrius Dude, your Fear and Loathing Winnie the Pooh profile pic is excellent.
@Dragoon1994 I've only played the first, but really enjoyed it. Never had a 360 so never played the others, although I heard 2 was great and 3 was a let down.
@Americansamurai1
Oh I see.
I absolutely loved the Anniversary Edition of the First Fable and Fable 2 even more.
Fable 3 was good but didn’t appeal to everyone.
I enjoyed the OG version of the first Fable as well but the Anniversary Edition is a much better version and the remaster includes the dlc content as well
@Dragoon1994 here's hoping for a port.
This is so getting delayed into 2027
Looks okay but I'm hoping it's not as sterile as the interface makes it appear. Fable released when RPGs were undergoing a slow modernising process. It felt nascent and original.
This looks like it could potentially be derivative. I hope that's not the case.
Just watched the gameplay overview and this is honestly better than I was expecting. I’ll be keeping an eye on this. Still hope one day they release a remaster of the original trilogy because I enjoyed them so much.
@Arthur_Morgan “ They didn’t have the talent”
That’s why Playground has been hiring senior RPG talent from 2017 devs from Rockstar, CDPR, BioWare, Lionhead (original Fable devs), Guerrilla, etc. Talent ≠ past genre.”
They open a massive hiring drive back in 2020 for Fable. If you been following the game. They was still hiring for major positions well into up two years ago.
“ Studios aren’t people with one skillset. Teams change. Naughty Dog went from Crash Bandicoot to The Last of Us. Guerrilla went from Killzone to Horizon. Same deal@
Yes. Team change people who are great at specific thing get hired…
“ This is a bad comparison: Frostbite was forced across EA studios with poor tooling and support. ForzaTech is Playground’s own engine, built in-house, by engineers who can change it freely. It already supported open worlds, NPCs, weather, physics, animation blending not just “cars go vroom”.”
The engine is actually Turn10 game engine who are responsible for that. The level of NPCs we see in Forza is not the same level that they advertising in this game. And no, EA never forced BioWare to use the Frostbite engine… That already been debunked.
It wasn’t just about tooling and support that BioWare complained about.
@darylb24 same. Will be playing some of these bangers in pc gamepass for sure.
@Oram77 It looks OK from what I've seen so far, I'm also quite interested in what the team behind Pokémon can actually do when they have a bigger budget and no time restraints.
I saw a few POCs, internet gon' lose it!
@Questionable_Duck My PC, PS5, and Switch 2 are the coolest Xboxes I’ve ever owned.
Those visuals are clean af. So long as I don't need to engage in the life sim stuff, I am sold. Let's hope the launch is smoother.
(I do not think the launch will be smoothe)
@EvilBear My car has become an XBOX, and crashed into another car what is now an XBOX. I go to call the police, my phone has become an XBOX. I panic, and turn to hold my wife...she is an XBOX...
I’ll get it just to kick chickens.
i hope microsoft can fart out the pc versions of fable 2 and 3 on steam and gog before 4 release. playing them on the series s/x is a little to rough these days.
@Balaam_ @Oram77 I agree. I actually welcome character models that are less generically attractive. Let’s have some more interesting faces to look at. Give them imperfections, y’know, like actual people have.
Time to eat some baby chicks, go evil and do very bad things like kicking chickens, people, mud.
@Questionable_Duck i feel like people are gonna use that as the current buzz word of something they hate for no reason , it was live service , now its generative ai.
Did you see Fable finally got announced for PS5 with an Autumn 2026 release window?
@Questionable_Duck they don’t care. They are a business and from their previous titles going multi-platform, they are making the money. People forget , Microsoft are a ‘software’ company, and they are generating a lot of money from this . Good on them. This whole exclusive thing is pure nonsense in today’s world. PlayStation has not ported to Xbox but they port to pc , and they also profit from this. Those who want to have those exclusive restrictions would not be very good business partner/owners.
@Metonymy Hello there. I was just wondering if you were planning to pick this one up? I've played and beaten the first two original games in the trilogy on Xbox and am very excited for this. Planning to do a Sekiro-style build if Uchigatanas are included in the game, apparently they were included in the previous games, but I only learned of that after I had beaten them and had discovered my love for the Far East.
@meredith There’s a lot of hype, but that much time before launch always adds uncertainty.
@sakurayuri Exactly, backing a game this early is like gambling on future odds instead of what’s in front of you now.
Loved Fable, and this looks like a true successor. Instantly near the top of my most anticipated list.
I'm not really a Fable fan at all but I do like the look of the tycoon and life sim elements in this.
Looks really good. I'm looking forward to seeing some more in-depth gameplay footage, but for now I'm definitely intrigued. And I have to say I'm impressed by how this studio seems to be juggling two major projects like Forza Horizon 6 and this one, so let's hope they stick the landing on both.
Looks great. Can't wait to play it on my Series X
Loved the first two games and this seems to have nailed the tone and feel of those, so I'm in. Very exciting!
@Arthur_Morgan @AverageGamer is right.
Yeah people have transferrable skills but there are several points here. Firstly they made Forza 6 and Fable at the same time, of course they didn't have the talent to cover both projects and needed to staff up. They have 3 offices in Leamington Spa now. Also if you have a bunch of car / racing enthusiasts and you're still making the top car / racing game you don't want to move them off their passion unless they want moving, you're better off hiring new talent with a passion for fantasy RPGs.
I would also say, whilst you're right studios change, Playground IS still making Forza 6. So it's not the same as going from Crash Bandicoot to moving on completely to The Last of Us via Uncharted. They haven't ditched Forza, they're simultaneously making two very different game with different skillsets required (as well as a bunch overlapping of course), they've less changed so much as expanded.
And yeah the engine of course needed updating to do Fable. Game engines can't just do anything off the bat, they need to be built to do those things. You point out they have engineers to adjust it freely, but you neglect the time that can take, again especially whilst still supporting Forza 6 at the same time.
All this takes time, plus this is a huge game that was always going to take some time to build anyway.
And on the Unreal thing though, it's not the magic engine gamers seem to think it is. It does some stuff really well, others less well and is costs a lot to licence. It's much more preferable to have you own in-house engine, it's just a heavy front-loaded cost and time sink that not everyone can/wants to afford, it's usually a decision not made by devs and engineers but by the people in charge of the budget.
@Dimey 2
I've been wanting to say day one buy for so long, this definitely is one of them. Hopefully physical too, there's a lot they can do with a special edition. One of the last ones came with a really nice custom deck of cards. There are so many Fable books too for anyone who wants to dip into the lore and world before the game releases. Some of the novels came with DLC codes too, I haven't seen any other franchise do that. Blood Ties is one of the best in the series.
I loved the fable games back in the day so I'm really happy this is being launched day and date at the same time, can't wait to kick some chickens and scare some kids with an evil emote haha.
Fable was the only game of the showcase that held any interest, but I not completely sold on it until I see more, as I felt they were very light on showing real detail.
It looks mostly positive, I just need to know more before I jump in and get excited.
@RBMango I mean, they had to form a new team to make it. But most AAA games take 6 years to make now, that's actually the average development time.
@LogicStrikesAgain Indeed it was but it has 6-8 months of ironing out performance issues before its released. And then on top of that we know a lot of these games still need a further patch or two after release unfortunately. But I expect it to be significantly smoother on release than what was shown here.
@RBMango I mean i don't know much about game development but it's an open world game from scratch for starters. It's not a sequel for them its their first time dealing with the IP, so combat, to character models, to open world designs etc were conceived from nothing.
On top of that they said the town in which they showcased had 1000 npc's and you culd interact with them all individually and they would respond in varying ways considering your actions to each of them. I'm sure thats time consuming. Most games have numerous npc's but only a handful you can interact with.
@Balaam_ Well people are happy now because she was just a character model. You can create your own.
@Leinad7 I mean considering he started out in comic books and is a violent mature character, sounds like the trailer hit the nail on the head!
I know what you mean though, as much as i loved it, something did feel off. I haven't watched it in a while so can't remember what it was.
@kailun And Sony for a large portion are a 'hardware' company who benefit from exclusives helping to sell their hardware. Same with Nintendo. Exclusives aren't entirely dead for all parties by any means, it just benefits Microsoft to share their exclusives as Xbox have the smallest player base of the three systems above.
@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN Nice! I’ve never played enough of Fable to have given it a fair shake but it certainly looks interesting. Hopefully you can make your signature build when it releases!
this looks lazy af
@AinsleyE Yeah… They said that they dumping that cause there no such thing as objectivity good and objectivity evil. So it impossible to add the morphing feature
@Th3solution What do you make of the new Fable? (I can't remember if you have any experience with the older games, but...)
I think it kind of looks a bit like Hogwarts Legacy in presentation and gameplay and it also has this 'normal life sim' element that I think was one of your hopes for a fantasy game, right? When I saw the presentation I thought 'Sol' so it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on it, if you watched this preview
@kailun MS didn’t become no 1. richest company with biggest profits in the world by making stupid decisions. They know what they are doing pretty well.
On the other hand we now hear about Sony giving their TV and Audio division to Chinese TCL.. brilliant decision.
@Ravix I don’t have any experience with this series, as I haven’t ever played on the Xbox or PC, but it’s one of the few Xbox exclusives that has always interested me. The fantasy setting is one reason but as you say, the way I’ve heard it described as having an evolving world which changes based on choices and with sim elements all sounds very interesting, indeed. It looks great too and I can see what you mean with the Hogwarts Legacy vibes in the presentation. Definitely on my radar.
@Leinad7 To be fair, plenty of succesful companies make stupid decisions. (MS Zune, Google Stadia) The fact that they’re the richest doesnt mean they cant make stupid decisions. It’s just that they have so much money that those bad decisions wont always have large consequences.
Also, Sony is not “giving away” their tv business. They created a new joint venture and still retain a 49% stake, so they still have significant influence. They are just realizing that there isnt much growth in it for them, and too much risk with all these competitors willing to take very low profit margins.
This way they can leverage TCL’s scale, supply chain and distribution, which TCL is verys strong in, and reduce Sony exposure to risk. Business wise, it seems like a pretty well thought out strategy if you ask me.
But could you elaborate on why you think the joint venture with TCL is a bad decision by Sony?
Would you say Sony would be better off to keep competing alone in a that low profit margin business?
@LogicStrikesAgain
This joint venture means for their TVs they will be run by Chinese, mark my words it will reflect in quality and further drop in sales. Nowadays there are two main players in TV market: Samsung selling for masses and LG selling for picture quality (they are leaders in OLEDs).
If you could buy TCL, Samsung or LG you wouldn’t even consider TCL. They make cheap quality products.
Sony would be better to keep TV and Audio division but they need to invest more to fight back. In the past Sony logo on TV meant premium top quality product. They could get this back, but it requires investments and some work to fight back. Cooperating with TCL will make things worse not better.
@Leinad7
I dont think you realize how big TCL is. TCL has a larger market share than LG. They’re the 2nd largest tv brand, even in the premium tv segment. So no, its definitely not just two main players in the tv market. And this joint venture with Sony will make their market share even larger
@LogicStrikesAgain TCL sells cheap products for someone who cannot afford LG or Samsung. Cheap means its built quality is obviously worse, picture quality as well. It’s like comparing Hyundai and Porsche. Of course anyone who can would choose 911 over Elantra.
@Leinad7
What about people who can’t afford luxury items? There’s obviously a market for affordable tv’s. That’s where TCL comes in, and now with Sony they can tackle both the budget and the premium segment.
Sure, but what does that have to do with business succes? They’re just catering to different segment. In fact Hyundai has a current market cap of $91B and Porsche is valued at $45B.
Hyundai had a revenue of $122B and net profits of $9B, Porsche had a revenue of $26B and net profits of only $40M. So even though it’s cheaper it sells better, because not everyone can afford luxury items.
That’s also why TCL has such a large market share in tv’s, and they’re closing the gap with samsung and LG, and in the end that’s what counts in business. Like Hyundai might be cheaper, but if it sells more, it’s a more succesful business. TCL is doing way better than Sony ever did, so working with them might actually be the better business strategy.
@LogicStrikesAgain
I really do not try to argue, just don’t agree with this „That’s where TCL comes in”. If someone cannot afford LG OLED, just goes to buy Samsung LED or QLED. Not TCL.
I understand TCL targets cheap TV segment but it also means cheap quality. People know that. It’s better to just buy Samsung and have it for few years instead of TCL that will die in 3 yrs.
I mean, if they really had to go for joint venture or any cooperation they could choose Panasonic, Philips or any brand that isn’t synonym of poor quality. That’s what I meant. They could even go to cooperate with Samsung or LG, they buy their OLED panels anyway so why not.
Going for TCL seems like Tesla would ask Daewoo to control their car business. It will affect how the brand is seen by customers.
Your arguments seem to explain that making Sony branded TVs cheap quality like TCL is good for Sony because they will make money. What about brand positioning? Decades of building brand as luxury and high end only to become cheap product brand now? I find it to be a huge mistake by the Sony management. I want Bravia to be high end and top quality, not TCL quality.
@Leinad7 You migh not agree with it, but those are the numbers. Lot’s of people buy TCL, thats why they even sold more units than LG as of late, i believe.
You compare TCL with Daewoo as if Daewoo a dominant brand in the car industry. TCL is the #2 brand in tv market share. That’s totally different.
I get what you’re saying about brand prestige, but this is more about competing in sales. Even Sony’s prestige tv brand isn’t cutting it anymore in the tv business, because Samsung is just too dominant.
And i think a joint venture with TCL might be more fruitful, because honestly those other brands you named like Philips and Panasonic arent doing so well either, tv hardware is just too low profit margin for them all to succeed in.
Sony might only have a 5% market share or something, with very thin profits. Doing this joint venture doesnt mean Sony is going to produce cheap tv’s, it means Sony is going to use TCL’s far superior scale of production and sales.
TCL isnt necessarily that bad in build quality either btw, sure its no Samsung or LG, but that doesnt meant its very bad. A Hyundai is not a Porsche, but doesnt mean a Hyundai is automatically a bad quality car. Again, just different segments
@LogicStrikesAgain They sell cheap budget TV products. This is how they are positioned. And that will affect positioning of Sony TVs in a result. Selling more TVs doesn’t always mean making bigger profits than someone selling less but higher price.
Listen, when you will buy PS6 and need to buy new TV and could afford LG OLED, Samsung QLED and TCL - will you buy TCL ..?! Be serious
@Leinad7 I dont understand your point tbh. Yes, i would buy a Samsung, but many people buy TCL because not everyone can afford the premium segment
I actually dug out my old 360, just to play Fable 2 and The Witcher 2, which I owned for years but never played. It looks surprisingly good on my smart TV, and once I went on the internet to figure out the component hook up, everything shockinglystill works. As for the new Fable, please don't @#$% this up. Not a lot of modern games interest me, but this one actually would.
@LogicStrikesAgain if they cannot afford premium Samsung or LG models, many just go for budget Samsung models. TCL is the worst choice.
@Leinad7 And many also buy TCL, that’s why they have the 2nd largest tv market share. How about we give this topic a rest for now 😉
@LogicStrikesAgain Agreed, we started to just spam the section Take care.
