So. Many. Zombies. Games, movies, TV. Sucks for me b/c I'm not a fan. ð Even the movie "Sinners", which was a decent remake of "From Dusk til Dawn", basically turned it's vampires into zombies. That's from both my wife and kid as soon as we finished watching it.
Elden Ring was great. I mean I wish it had an easier mode so I could have fought the bosses myself rather than just summoning in other people and watching them do it, but the 100 hours I spent grinding to get to the point where I could start playing the game were great. The best horse travel there ever was or ever will be. But not every game needs to look like it. I don't do souls likes.
I think it's partly Chinese games, partly Unreal Engine 5, and partly the zeitgeist. It will pass. Or at least diminish enough that 40 minute State of Plays don't look like 1 long game. We need more color. PS2 had it all, seemingly constantly. Now we wait for an Astrobot or Dragon Quest once every few years.
PS5 is now officially over 5 years old. Price drop is nice, should pick up a few more sales for Sony, but if you've waited this long to purchase a PS5 you might as well wait for a PS6. At least to find out if there is going to be a proper handheld variant. If it's just going to be another home console then maybe pick up a PS5 during a sale.

Saturday of Thanksgiving day weekend is a crummy time to do it though, lot of kids who play this will probably be traveling, pestering their parents no end. They could have easily kept the Simpsons going for another week - it's a really short season - and done this on Dec 6th.
Unless Epic isn't a US company and doesn't care about T-day? Gonna have to go look that up. I'll be there, wife permitting. Simpsons lead in was mostly a 12 minute non -interactive cutscene but it was a fun watch. This one looks to be playable.
Edit: Epic is in North Carolina, who knew, would have guessed California or Washington. They really should have waited. Probably means their employees have to put in more time over that weekend as well. Guess Epic selling Band camp 5 months after it unionized was a coincidence.ð
My favorite widget is the controller battery life but hours played is nice too. Now if the PS5 would stop asking me to sync up my controller with a wire to the PS5. As long as it's working fine I'm not going to go find a cable to do that. Maybe this update is the reason?
My wife and I didn't like season 2 as much as season 1, Death and the bug lady were both kinda lame, but we've never played the games so maybe that's why.
We would have been OK if it ended after season 2 but we'll watch season 3. We like Stu and the new girl. And as weird as it got w/ Stu in space and coming back home like Goku arriving on Namek I'm expecting they go all in on the zany in season 3. Which will be an improvement over the sister story line. Not a fan of fridging.
Also looking forward to meeting the Clowns dad, some potential there.

I didn't know it either, my wife pointed it out to me, but I did just go look it up to confirm.

My wife and I watched a video on YT a few nights ago, think it was from the SoP. There was so much going on we had no idea what even type of game it was. Farming, fighting, role playing. It seemed to be a bit all over the place.
I would download it but Infinity Nikki finally updates to 2.0 next week and I think that is going to be taking up a whole lot of our time. If Nikki goes off the rail I'll try this out. Maybe another week or two of patches will get this sorted out.

Hopefully season 2 of Fallout doesn't let me down like Rwisted Metal did. It was OK, but lacked tye coherent consistency of the 1st season.
We like Silo, all 17 seasons of it that we feel like we've watched w/ those 2 waiting for something to happen, but "almost every way"? Action? Comedy? Music? Color? It's a better character focused story driven drama, but that's about the only way I think Silo is better than Fallout. 1 way.

Not bad looking for a mobile game. Reminds me of some of the modes in Splatoon, not the main one, but that's really but only frame of reference for team games, my 1,000 hours in Fortnite are all solo.

If Wolverine does actually release in Fall 2026, I mean it could happen, won't matter if GTA 6 gets delayed until Spring 2027, which could also happen.
One thing I feel like can't happen, both of these games releasing in Fall 2026. I'm mean sure they could, 9/9/26 looks like a nice date for Wolverine, it's the same in every country so no one gets confused, but I certainly wouldn't bet on any big AAA video fame making a release date a year out. Or even 6 months out.

Do you know that dlc stands for 'down load content"? Any extra content whether for free, micro transactions, or a season pass is going to be dlc b/c it wasn't in there when the game was released. @carlos82 We went to Islands if Adventures 1 year in January b/c we were downn there for a wedding. Despite it being Florida it does still get cold in January. My wife bought gloves at the gift shop, we were I'll prepared for 40' F. But we did gave the park basically to ourselves, several rides on the Hulk Coaster, 3D Spiderman ride and the fueling dragons. The new place thry just opened up looks 5, 5 Worlds of Imagination or whatever. Also on the list, but Nintendo 1st. I should really start planning all these trips.ðą

So while I like the setting and the look it's a little more like Reload now, or OG, I forget which is which. Itf it's like this next season I may be done. Assigning serial numbers means absolutely nothing to me. Maybe they skipped some. Maybe they assigned 158 million and he's just rounding up? Sony must have a sales record somewhere of the number sold. How else do they do book keeping. And I bet they haven't "sold" 160m. Well maybe Sony sold the to distributors, who had to eat the cost of any lost or damaged merchandise, but surely Sony would have that shipped number written down somewhere. We wouldn't have had the number jump from 155 to 160 if they had.

@Fluberuper Last season, and for a few before that, I was winning 33% of my matches, usually top 10 w/ the occasional 99th b/c the game is fun like that.ð But this season it's been 15, 25, 17 etc. I think I came in 2nd twice. But they also feel fast. I haven't checked the times but my matches are always 22-24 minutes, these have felt short and b/c of the losing I haven't checked.ðĐ I've tried playing Reload or whatever it's called a few times, always felt they were trash. I've been playing Fortnite for 4 years, spent $8 in store credit I had when I began, I currently have about 50 saved sets, and 3,000 V-bux. It's crazy to me how much people spend on stuff that does nothing when $8, maybe it's $10 now, can set you up for years.
I also get the complaining, it's what people do, and those prices are crazy, and the 1 change per pet is obviously forced and stupid as we can change everything else infinitely. So don't buy them, they're worse than useless. Worse. Just burn your money, at least it will be pretty and give off heat. ðĨ
Anything electronic can be made smaller, for and at a price. I think there's some laws about that.
I don't like the look of the PS5, gate balancing it on that stupid little stand horizontally, but I don't need it to look like an Xbox or genetic PC either.

How is Valve even funding this? PS doesn't have mandatory paid online and Steam doesn't have a Gamepass option like Netflix last I checked. Though with how many PC games there are in the world I don't know why iy doesn't. Even Apple has Arcade for like $10/m and it only haslikev52 games.
Do I have to use that awful controller or can I use 1 of my 5 PS5 controllers?
Is it plug and play like a console or do I still need to fiddle w/ settings for every game?
Will it run currently way too expensive Gamepass games should I get a trial fora month?
Does it plug into a socket like a console or PC or one of those specific bricjsor dongles?
If it works like a console, but a PC on my TV for all Steam games, for $499, I might pick it up. After a year or so to see if they're still supporting it. I'm not paying for an Ouya doorstop.

Did you watch Man in High Castle? My wife and I watched it b/c of all the great reviews but we found it pretty slow and boring for the most part. I do like Silo better than that. But I'll always take action comedy over straight drama. Real life is dramatic enough.ðĐ
Hopefully season 2 of Fallout doesn't let me down like Rwisted Metal did. It was OK, but lacked tye coherent consistency of the 1st season.

Not sure how we'll do it yet. Last time we paid for Prime I actually only signed up for video to save a few bucks. My actually free shipping, not paid in advance shipping, comes in a few days. We are looking forward to it, maybe even get my college kids to watch season 1 as an excuse to re-watch it. But we'll see.

Not bad looking for a mobile game. Reminds me of some of the modes in Splatoon, not the main one, but that's really but only frame of reference for team games, my 1,000 hours in Fortnite are all solo.
If it released on console I might try it out but I really don't have a lot of interest in team fames or playing on mobile.

I've been waiting impatiently for Wolverine news but I just don't think it will be that big. I should probably look into Intergalactic more but the title and the trailer put me off.
No one has mentioned Spiderman 3 yet, so it could be that, dual release w/ PS6 maybe. Last of Us 3 could be big b/c of the show.
Which reminds me, I don't think any new IP these days can is likely to be that big, which is also why I don't have high hopes for Intergalactic.

That's about a 20-25% price cut, maybe 3e% depending on how yoh feel like doing the math, so not bad. I like 55,000 over 72,980 that's for sure. I mean, it can't hurt. Make only a couple of million, hope they sell, then charge for PS+. And it let's them meet the Nintendo home console offer, so they were kind of nixed into a corner.

Unless Sony really changes things up by making the PS6 into a Switch like hybrid handheld device then it's really just going to be another continuation of the PS4 anyway.
If the PS6 releases in 2027 there may still be games coming to 3 console generations 4/5/6. Unless I'm wrong and nothing releases on PS4 anymore? I bought Sea of Stars on a PS4 disc for Christmas but that might gave already been years old.

My Switch 2 never leaves the dock and I don't sub to online services so I was probably good no matter how I thought about it but your point still stands.

Witcher 4 game should be much better than Witcher season 4 judging by the 1 minute clip I saw online.
They do have a problem competing w/ TW3 though, not sure they can top that. And the 2 dlc. People should probably go in w/ lowered expectations.

I think I'd be down for this, just enough there to hit up for 20 minutes a day like I was doing w/ AC and Hello Kitty. Only on PS5 though. I've tried and I just can't play games on mobile screens. Though PS5 controller support and Apple Air to my TV does help if that's available.

If Wolverine does actually release in Fall 2026, I mean it could happen, won't matter if GTA 6 gets delayed until Spring 2027, which could also happen.
One thing I feel like can't happen, both of these games releasing in Fall 2026. I'm mean sure they could, 9/9/26 looks like a nice date for Wolverine, it's the same in every country so no one gets confused, but I certainly wouldn't bet on any big AAA video fame making a release date a year out. Or even 6 months out.
Maybe if they both haves dates at next year's Not E3 w/ GK. Maybe.

Do you know that dlc stands for 'down load content"? Any extra content whether for free, micro transactions, or a season pass is going to be dlc b/c it wasn't in there when the game was released. Patches that fuc stuff don't count b/c thry are just fixing whatever is in the game, but all of the challenges and extra characters that weren't in there at all originally are dlc. I mean you say it yourself, "bonus CONTENT". How can it be both a bonus but not dlc?ðĪ·ââïļ

@carlos82 We went to Islands if Adventures 1 year in January b/c we were downn there for a wedding. Despite it being Florida it does still get cold in January. My wife bought gloves at the gift shop, we were I'll prepared for 40' F. But we did gave the park basically to ourselves, several rides on the Hulk Coaster, 3D Spiderman ride and the fueling dragons. The new place thry just opened up looks 5, 5 Worlds of Imagination or whatever. Also on the list, but Nintendo 1st. I should really start planning all these trips.ðą

@sanderson72 Had I seen the 157-8 million figure the 160 probably wouldn't have surprised me as much,but as someone who has been looking at numbers for like 20 years the 155 is what's in my head, and pretty much has always been in my head since it was announced.

@get2sammyb @Fluberuper So I just checked my times, and placing 2nd a couple of times and 3rd my play times were 16, 17, 18 minutes, which is certainly a few less than 22 minutes. Island is shrunk.
I'm 0-10. I've never gone that long w/o winning a match before, even early on I was winning 1 out iof every 6 or 7. So while I like the setting and the look it's a little more like Reload now, or OG, I forget which is which. Itf it's like this next season I may be done. I'll keep going this season, what's 3 more weeks, and I already spent my V-bux. Who knows, maybe I'll win a few next week. I'm going to go play the Nikoderiko demo now for a nice change of pace. Piece.ð

Assigning serial numbers means absolutely nothing to me. Maybe they skipped some. Maybe they assigned 158 million and he's just rounding up? Maybe a whole batch of 150 of them had to trashed b/c the machine was cutting a big gash in the side. Maybe a container fell off a ship w/ 5,000 in it. Maybe a lorry got stolen w/ 250 and they were given away, not sold. Maybe Toys R Us had a pallet they threw out when they went bankrupt.
Sony must have a sales record somewhere of the number sold. How else do they do book keeping. And I bet they haven't "sold" 160m. Well maybe Sony sold the to distributors, who had to eat the cost of any lost or damaged merchandise, but surely Sony would have that shipped number written down somewhere. We wouldn't have had the number jump from 155 to 160 if they had.
Produced? Maybe produced. Has any manufacturing plant ever produced 160,000,000 of anything w/o some of them having to be trashed b/c of either cosmetic imperfections or malfunction? Even if the failure rate was only 1%, just one percent, that would still be 1.6mil they couldn't sell. So only 158.4m that they potentially could. Potentially. ðĪ·ââïļ

@Fluberuper Last season, and for a few before that, I was winning 33% of my matches, usually top 10 w/ the occasional 99th b/c the game is fun like that.ð But this season it's been 15, 25, 17 etc. I think I came in 2nd twice. But they also feel fast. I haven't checked the times but my matches are always 22-24 minutes, these have felt short and b/c of the losing I haven't checked.ðĐ I've tried playing Reload or whatever it's called a few times, always felt they were trash. This isn't that bad, but I can't get into my usual game flow rhythm. Congrats on doing better ð

I know my placings have dropped precipitously from top 3 to 5-15 b/c the players came back, but it feels like more than that. I don't know if it's smaller or emptier or flatter or what but it almost feels more like those Reloaded levels than the main battle Royale matches I've been playing the past few years. IDK maybe the cell shading is throwing me off but it just doesn't feel quite the same. ðĪ·ââïļ

As @Stevemalkpus just said, they give you a free one to start, so, don't buy them, they do nothing.
I've been playing Fortnite for 4 years, spent $8 in store credit I had when I began, I currently have about 50 saved sets, and 3,000 V-bux. It's crazy to me how much people spend on stuff that does nothing when $8, maybe it's $10 now, can set you up for years.
I also get the complaining, it's what people do, and those prices are crazy, and the 1 change per pet is obviously forced and stupid as we can change everything else infinitely. So don't buy them, they're worse than useless. Worse. Just burn your money, at least it will be pretty and give off heat. ðĨ
