The Adventures of Elliot might be closely linked to Nintendo Direct livestreams, but it's still a multi-platform release with a PS5 version on the way. Therefore, as a result of today's showcase, we know the HD-2D action title will launch on 18th June 2026. Catch the latest trailer above.
The summer release brings with it an action focus in the HD-2D art style, with main character Elliot having to set off on a continent-spanning journey to rid the world of details. Today's slice of footage suggests the game is split into pieces: The Age of Safekeeping, The Age of Reconstruction, The Age of Magic, and The Age of Budding.

Hell yeah! Looks like some HD-2D retro style fun to me.
The switch 2 demo was fun to play. Going to pick this up sometime.
Looks like YS i like it :3
Yes!!! Love the gameplay
“with main character Elliot having to set off on a continent-spanning journey to rid the world of details”
Is that really what the plot is about? Him ridding the world of… details?
The demo for this game was super cute and fun, gave me the feeling of old school zelda games.
People keep making the Zelda comparison but I see more shades of Star Ocean 2. Looks like a great time, might preorder it closer to June.
I don't really like the 2D-HD look but the rest of this game looked good enough I might eb willing to overlook it. Another game like MHS3 that I'm surprised is coming to PS5 day 1, it looks so Switch. And by that I mean it looks like a 3DS game. Did I mention I don't like 2D-HD? 😂
@Fluberuper
Lol. I noticed this too and was curious. Also, the part where it states the 4 Ages and the last one is "Budding" and I can't tell if that is intentional or supposed to be "Building."
Watching the Nintendo Direct video now and it is indeed the Age of Budding.
I wish the demo would come out on PS
Looks kind of cool imho, if a bit anonymous.
Square releasing this kind of side-project titles anywhere has significantly reduced my need for a Nintendo console.
i would like to try the demo, put it on ps5 square
