Anyway, I think it releases in May. If not, people should be fired.
Having to grind the characters w/ the daily gift limit sounds out of place in a full priced game. I played on Apple Arcade w/ a free month and never got to finish b/c time ran out, don't think I could go through all of that again.
Is the game currently up to date? Switch released with a few of the later sections missing and they got added in later.
Skipped not E3, may watch a little of not E3 but in German while I eat my lunch since it's my lunch time, but I'm not expecting much.

@Haruki_NLI @8thDoctor That was sort of my reaction as well. Sony may be on their PS1-PS2 era in anime but worldwide it feels a bit past that to me. I know Manga had a huge growth spurt during COVID - print is not dead - and gas slowed down while still growing, I'm assuming anime has a similar trajectory. Still growing, but the Crunchy roll explosion is probably more linear than exponential now. Though Sony owns it so I guess they know better. Still feels later than earlier though but I suppose Sony has money to make yet.
@themightyant If people just want to play Fortnite, CoD or sports games they can buy a PC or an Xbox. But it seems to me a lot of people choose PS over PC and Xbox b/c they want the exclusives available only on PS.
Now this doesn't mean you only play those games. I'm a PS and Nintendo gamer, no PC or Xbox, and I buy that hardware b/c of the single player exclusives, but like 90% of my time is spent playing Fortnite and other free games. Not b/c I like them more, but b/c I'm still waiting for Wolverine to release. I mean get a release date, I mean show a trailer.ð Nintendo I only play 1st party games on b/c I'm pretty sure that's why that hardware exists. ð
So yes, most hours and dollars (euros, pounds, etc) spent on PS gaming are on sports games, CoD and GTAV b/c that's what people do in between the 1 short game a year Sony releases - GoW, HZd/FW, Spiderman, Uncharted, Ghost. But if Sony didn't have that 1 game a year more people would probably play on Xbox or PC, and I'd just play whatever on Nintendo. Or Apple Arcade if need be.
I mean sure, some people are buying Sony hardware only for Destiny 2, or Minecraft, or FF14, but I still think the 1st party exclusives are a big draw. The problem is there aren't enough of those any more b/c of the 5 year dev cycle, so Sony went all in on live service, failed miserably, Helldivers as the big exception, and are now trying to figure it out.
How many big single player games has Sony canceled the past 5 years? Is there a big list like this chronicling it? Sony knows they can cancel all of these live service games b/c they know people are buying their hardware for the other games, not these. When they start canceling all their single player exclusives and fully commit to live service then yes, it's all about that. But they might as well give up their hardware then as well, PC, and Nintendo, win.
@TrollOfWar A car can be a thing you drive yourself around in as an adult, but it's also a thing your parents drive you around in as a kid.
I think sports games have live service attributes but I still think people can buy them and play them single player or maybe just with a friend. Live service still seems to be a thing unto itself. All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares and such.
@sanderson72 PS2 will continue to sell as long as need be.ð
Don't know about the extra million PS4, but I do feel like Sony, "the company that knows generations", showed off PS5 w/ several games like GoW and HFW that sort of seemed like they were pushing next gen exclusivity, b/c they know generations, when they weren't. So, I'm guessing PS6 maybe off to a slow start while the cheaper PS5 keeps selling to play all the same games. Sony knows money, not generations.
PS6 is going to be the PS4 Pro Pro Pro Pro (I just need 1 PS4 game to release after it launches ðĪĢ)
New $70 sports games come out every year though, does less than a year of support qualify as a long period of time?
Not saying a game needs to be free to start, the $40 games are fine, but it's really about the timeline for me. Fortnite, PUBG, Overwatch, Destiny. These games launched and the devs said "you'll be playing these FOR YEARS". Games like AC, Tomb Raider, Witcher 3, to me they're built for day 1 base game, story fragments later.
Maybe I need to update my perspective but I'm not ready to call every game that has a 1 time $20 dlc live service or GaaS. Do people even say free-to-play or free-to-start anymore? I've been trying to get "$60-to-start" to be a thing for years just for CoD but sadly it hasn't caught on. ð DLC, microtransactions, season passes, it's fluid.
Mario Kart 8 DX on Switch started as the Deluxe complete edition of a Wii U game. Like 5 years after it released they added a 2 year long season pass. It released as a complete game, years later it became live service. Fluid.
And therein lies the rub. ð I think we agree on most things, probably even this. I'm always up for being proven wrong, being so negative all of the time is such a drag, and I'm just going to add a couple of more things.
First, and sort of on topic, the 5 year dev cycle you mentioned is killing me. Or at least my joy in gaming.ðĐ Had an hour long dinner conversation with my kids last night about the good old days of gaming, the PS2 years. I'm a graphics first guy so my glory days rarely go back earlier than that though my gaming goes back to Pong. We were talking mostly about Jak & Daxter and Ratchet and Clank. PS2 had like 3 each of those games. PS3 had several R&C. PS4 had a movie reboot. PS5 1 game. That's all we really get the past 2 gens, 1 game every gen coupled w/ some dual ports.
I'm very graphic focused, I don't like pixels or HD-2D, but Dreamcast, GameCube and PS2 were good enough. I'd settle for those if I could get a new game every 2-3 years. FF7,8,9 released 3yrs in a row.ð
Second and more on topic. Variety is good. But it should be natural growth. It really feels like Sony put some of these devs on the path to life service. Games are art, they shouldn't be dictated by management. Also management shouldn't have purchased so many live service games knowing their core audience is single player focused. Make those games, collect your 30% from the others. But no, they had to get greedy, and even including Helldivers I'm betting it cost them. I'd say they lost this generation but w/ MS doing MS things, well, they're still OK.
@Jey887 After reading the comments and the article again, and yant's reply, looks like I was probably wrong, that's 1st party revenue. A lot of it maybe from Helldivers and MLB The Show. Somebody wondered if that includes PS+ subs but surely that has to be a separate category. But who knows, it's all corporate speak and statistics, 2 things that should never go together.ð
@ZeroSum Thanks, that my viewpoint as well. Sports games are really the antithesis of "live service" as they get a new full priced game every year where live service games run 3 or 5 or more. I feel like Minecraft is either or, no seasons but the dlc is constant. And despite several spinoff and new engines it's basically been just Minecraft. Even Destiny is on 2.
@themightyant If 40% of Sony's first party revenue "for the quarter" was microtransactiins maybe that's in part due to them not having any new1st party games that quarter? That's half joking, half serious. I'm sure they had some new game sales but I feel like digital transactions are the way to make money. But in established games, not new live service. Though I suppose eventually they'll get their Fortnite or Genshin Impact. But at what cost?
@themightyant Tried to find the best I can PS4 sales after PS5 launched. Looks like PS4 had 113m in Nov 2020 and finished at 117 so you are correct, only about 4mil PS4 sold after PS5 launched.
I think w/ the price PS6 will be, and I think Sony will do a lot less creative marketing w/ PS6 like they did w/ OS5 when it looked like a lot of games would be PS5 exclusively before the PS4 versions were officially announced, I think another 5 mil could be doable. So we'll have to see where PS5 is when PS6 launches. Having just waited 8 years or Switch 2 who knows when that will be. Does look like an uphill climb w/o a big price cut though. Which isn't happening in current world economics
@themightyant I'll grant you Helldivers, but are MLB the Show and Gran Turismo really considered to be live service games? In my head they are both single player games that have multi-player components. I consider live service to be really online only w/ maybe some tutorial single player. Or maybe my brain just sees sports games as their own thing.
Could you tell reading any of this if that 40% was actually from their own games? I assumed it was from games like Fortnite and the Gatcha games and all the other games they get a cut from like GTA online. You know, the money they would still be making from live service even if they never made one themselves. If 40% of their revenue is from their own games like Helldivers and the Show more power to them.
I still have to think they've lost more money on their live service push w/ all the money they've spent acquiring games and companies then they've made on Helldivers. I'm still not considering sports fame w/ micro transactions as live service, though maybe in the future I will. In the future where every game is a free trial to start before the floodgates open. Disney Speedstorm is insane. ðĪ
So I watched the entire 8 minute trailer and I saw what seemed to be turn based game play around the 4 minute mark, for a few seconds, which is when I lost interest in playing the game.
The fan fiction aspect of mixing G Gundam and Godzilla Singular Point is enticing, just have a feeling playing it would bore me. If it was an action fighting game I think I'd be in.
G Gundam needs a DragonBall type fighting game to cover the series. Probably exists somewhere in Japan. Or maybe not since no one seems to like it but me. At least the main characters show up in several of the mosou games. Too bad this isn't 1 of those.
@sanderson72 @PuppetMaster "The question is will PS5 reach or surpass PS4 117 million units before PS6 release?"
I think the question isn't "before" PS6 releases, it's well after PS6 releases, you can probably almost say before PS7 releases. With PS5 costing what it does, $400 give or take, and the Pro costing $700, the PS6 won't be cheap. And looking at dual PS4-PS5 releases, I'm guessing most PS6 fames will also be on PS5. So if PS6 is +$500, and Sony drops PS5 to $300, they may still get a few million more PS5 sales after PS6 launches.
Unless $500 PS6 dual drops w/ $400 PS6 Portable and everyone buys that instead of a cheap PS5.
I still think 120 mil is doable. Price and the PS6 launch date will factor in.
Wow, November 1st, that seems really long, but I suppose the calendar is flying by. This past season for the first time in years I didn't reach level 100, maxed out at 92, mostly b/c gold was nearly impossible to find.ðĪ
Looking forward to the bugs, MMPR, and Halo. 3,700 vbux ready to go. ð
Is it just me or do several upcoming games have the same "look"? This, Tides of Annilation, the recent Clair Obscur, the Lies of P dlc (not sure if it released yet) that Elden Ring game.
I know the games themselves look different, Clair Obscur had some color, but the marketing stills all have the same gray Unreal engine look to me. Oh and Stellar Blade. Not sure if it's a Chinese game thing or a PS5 4k game thing, or my eyes are just going bad thing but my brain is reading it as a trend.
Not all games obviously, Astrobot exists unto itself, GTA has its own look, just a bunch of them. That remind me of 1886 The Order.ðĪ·ââïļ
@AverageGamer That does add a wrinkle to my thinking, thanks. I've only ever spent $8 on Fortnite once years ago to buy the self refilling pass, I had PSN store credit, haven't spent any money on the numerous other free to start games I've played, so I suppose I never examined the differences that closely.
So I may actually be on to something that Nintendo doesn't like Gatcha games. Well at least until they figure out how to make money from it themselves.ðĪ
@Dyomun Thanks. I am aware it's following on from 1, at least that's what I've read, but I haven't seen anything about whether it ends the story or not. The entire game could just be setup for a grand finale fame in another 5 years or so after this one releases.
If the story doesn't end when this game does I'm not playing it.
"We certainly wouldn't say that this is a Cyberpunk 2077 situation, but that's the kind of positive turnaround that Bethesda could be aiming for."
Comparing it to Cyberpunk? If only there was another grand ambitions space faring game that didn't live up to expectations at launch that spent the next few years improving itself to the point where people actually like it now. Oh well, what are the odds of there being another game like that? ð
I suppose no Switch 2 version then. Would look weird if they started supporting it now on Switch 2 after saying PS4 simply can't run it. Though maybe no PS4 means they have more resources to devote to Switch 2? Would still be a bad look though.
I still feel like Nintendo has something against Hoyoverse. And it's not just the Gatcha as Switch 2 has Fortnite and Disney Speedstorm. But no Hoyoverse after all these years, after THRY said GI was coming to Switch way back in 2020, makes me put on my tinfoil hat.
Bummer for the PS4 players. I hate when stuff gets dropped like that, but I suppose it was going to happen sooner or later. Maybe Sony will have some decent holiday sales on PS5.
Power Rangers is a nice change up, feels like we've been stuck in a Star Wars superhero loop for awhile now. I know MMPR are just more superheros but at least it feels a little different. Waiting until mid-September for that Megazord is going to feel like forever.
I might be interested in this enough to try it out on Switch 2, which I think is still rocking the PS4 graphics. Might get me through a weekend in a hotel though dropping the kid back off at college. I just couldn't om the Switch, it was unplayable for me.
As much as I'm not a fan of the narrators voice I do think his description in the Direct helps a little in explaining this game. It starts at 16:23 in case I didn't copy it right. Don't think I'd play it solo but I'll give it a go w/ the missus.
Edit: Yup, forgot to click the box again. Maybe now.
Infinity Nikki had a better season this time w/ 1.8, I'm hoping 2.0 in a couple of months is the next big 100 JRPG game segment. That's enough. Switch 2 & MKW should be here in 3 1/2 hours. DKB tomorrow.ð
Maybe in couch co-op the 2nd player only controls the horse? That would still be a lot more co-op then Nintendo offers in a lot of their 2 player couch co-op games.ð
It could still be single player based story w/ the 2nd player just following. I know we aren't supposed to talk about Knack but both games had couch co-op, the 2nd game more than the first. See also about half a dozen Skylanders games.
I'm more curious if they are going to finish the story from the first game. Haven't played it in a decade but I recall it ending sort of on a cliffhanger to set up the 2nd game. I'll play it, solo or co-op, if the story ends. Otherwise I won't.
@Kiefer-Sutherland Thanks. Maybe if this 1 looks good I'll go back and play them all. If I can find them. Not sure what system I have them on. My brain is telling me Wii U but I doubt that's right. If it's PS3, well my console isn't hooked up and we don't have a single fully functioning controller. Possibly PS+ but I think that was 3. Maybe I won't.ð
Really enjoyed tye first game, it was great. Only played the first half of 2nd when it became more of a shooter. Didn't p,ay tye 3rd at all b/c Soulslikes. Played a little of the spinoff games but barely recall any of it.
If they could somehow make a sequel to the first game, similar to the first game, that would be great. But I'm not holding my breath.
If they make a handheld that plays discs that would be amazing. ð
I'm probably done w/ new consoles after my Switch 2 arrives on Monday, so I'm all for PS5 getting dual releases the next few years. There really is hardly any reason for new hardware unless you need all your games to be photo realistic.
Past gen consoles served a purpose.
PS-PS2 gave us 3D from 2D, the last great leap PS2-PS3 gave us HD TV PS3-PS4 gave us FauxK PS4-PS5 gave us 4K Does PS6 need 8K?
How many 8k tvs are out there? There's hardly any 4K streaming content out there. Cable is dead. OTA is HD. I'm not sure how much noticeable difference there even is on a TV sized screen. A portable does not need to do 8k.
My wife and I enjoyed season 1. Looking forward to season 2 but not expecting it to be as good.
Interesting release schedule. Andor did 3a week, don't think I've ever seen 3, 2, 2, 2, 3 before. We usually wait until a season is over but weekly might be the way to go for this. Still need to watch Pokerface. Then cancel Peacock until something else comes along worth watching. Currently on a $1.99 offer so don't have to worry about the recent spike price increase.ðĪ
@Haruki_NLI Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment is coming to other than Nintendo consoles or are you not counting it as exclusive b/c it's also on Switch? I can't imagine that game being fun to play on Switch,
Does Nintendo usually show Switch exclusives in their own proper Direct or are the big 3rd party exclusives always in the Partner Directs? Not that there are a lot of big 3rd party exclusives but I feel like there were a couple last gen.
I thought the Direct got off to a goid start but ending it w/ two of those HD-2D looking games rather than something that looks next (this) gen was a stupid thing to do. MH Stories 3 could have been swapped w/ either of the last 2. Don't care which 1, looked the same to me. Hence my issue with it.
I was surprised no MS games. They're in year 3 of the 10 year CoD on Nintendo legal contract. Starting to wonder if MS is just waiting for the 10 years to be up and see if anyone remembers.ð Was kindling hoping for South of Midnight. Not sure Switch 2 can run Indy. Or any of the other recent PS5 ports.
That Avatar game would have been nice. Still waiting on DQ12 news. And of course Silksong.
It had a good first half before we all started thinking - what was the point of this again? 2month old console deserved better.
I put a full year into AC NH (thanks COVID) and a month into Hello Kitty (thanks Apple Arcade free trial) and I liked Hello Kitty better b/c of the story. I didn't get to finish it though b/c my free trial ran out.
People should check if PS5 is getting the full game at launch, Switch was missing a couple of the new areas at release though I do think it's caught up now.
@TrollOfWar That's about what I thought, thanks. My kid didn't want to play it so I didn't push. They're trying to finish XCX before heading back to college in a month so time is an issue as well. But I'll play it some day. Looks and sounds good.
So yes, you CAN BUY the PS5 version of HFW base game w/o the dlc, you have a choice w/ or without. You CAN NOT buy a Switch 2 version of Mario Party Jamboree w/o the dlc. Yes the Switch 2 plays Switch 1 games, that backwards compatibility, an entirely different issue. We're talking about Switch 2, not Switch, Switch 2 versions of games w/o the dlc. Like HFW you keep bringing up, even though all it does is prove you wrong.
Backwards compatibility w/ Switch 1 games is not the same as a Switch 2 box w/ the base game that you can buy w/o the dlc. Like you can on PS5 with HFW. Nintendo is forcing people who want the Switch 2 box on their shelf to buy the dlc w/ the base game. At which point it isn't even really dlc, it's part of the game.
"Politicians hide themselves away They only started the war Why should they go out to fight? They leave that all to the poor, yeah Time will tell on their power minds Making war just for fun Treating people just like pawns in chess Wait till their judgment day comes, yeah"
I was kinda surprised South of Midnight wasn't on PS already. Seems like more a PS fan base game than an Xbox fan base game. I asked my kid to play it when they finished Clair Obscur on PC Gamepass but they said no,not their thing. It is my thing though so I would play it on PS5.
@Bramble "Glad I tried a gatcha, but I actually think I got my fill, IN is a great platformer game for free, but I rather put my little gaming time in other games"
That reminds me. I bought Farmagia awhile back. Not free to start but it looks like a big time waste sink. May be time to crack that open since I already spent money on it. Though our Switch 2 and Mario Kart World is on it's way, so maybe I'll just waste time on that.ð
@RoomWithaMoose I read in the review on Nintendo Life that the Switch 1 base game was the same base game on Switch 2, no difference.
"Jumping into the base game, nothing has changed, right down to â it seems â the crispness of the textures and resolution, as this older mode is slightly blurrier and not as slick as the newer addition."
I looked in the Nintendo eshop and there is no Switch 2 version of Mario Party Jamboree for $60. There is a $60 Switch version, an $80 Switch 2 version, and a $20 upgrade. I'm pretty sure you can buy the base Horizon FW game on PS5 stand alone w/ the dlc.
You are correct about Nintendo doing the same thing w/ the 2 Zelda games on Switch, BotW and TotK, you can only buy them bundled with the dlc. I'm not a fan of that either, but I suppose it's good Nintendo is consistent in forcing dlc onto their paying customers whether they like it or not. $70 for BotW in 2025 is insane, it's a Wii U game, it's almost 10 years old. ðĪ
If Mario Party Jamboree can be $80 ($79.99US) on Switch 2 then really any game can be $80.
And if you want to make the argument it's $60 + $20 dlc I'm willing to listen, but you need to show me the Switch 2 version in store or online for $60 w/ the dlc sold separately, b/c I think it's only available in an $80 one size fits all bundle. In which case it isn't a $60 game + $20 dlc, it's an $80 game. You can buy the Switch version and upgrade, but there's no $60 Switch 2 version. So it's an $80 Switch 2 game.
And this is made even worse b/c the base game on Switch 2 is still the base game on Switch, they didn't update the graphics or anything, so you are paying $80 for a plain old Switch game + a non-optional $20 Switch 2 dlc. ðĪ
I've been using Turn Off rather than Rest Mode since I read an article about the power usage difference on here a month or so ago. So, maybe this is just more to do with that? Maybe it's just so the current Portal can turn it on if it's off?
Not sure why we need 3 "turn off" modes but Windows has had sleep, hibernate, and off for decades so why not.
I'm a TV gamer only, my Switch 2 will never leave the dock so that nice 1080p VRR screen is completely going to waste. Not at all interested in a portable PS6, unless it's a Switch like device w/ TV out. But normal TV out over usb-c not this dock nonsense. Adds too much to the cost. ðĪ
@Bramble I haven't spent any money on a free start game since a season pass in Fortnite about 4 yrs ago, just keep rolling over the v-bux, currently have about 3,000.
I have enough outfits and whimsicality outfits in Nikki to last me a lifetime. It has been fairly lame for awhile now but I keep checking in almost daily in hopes that some say there will be a real part 2 in a new region that lasts 100 hours like the first part. If I stop for too long I'll never come back.
The house is supposed to arrive in 1.9 but I haven't seen 1.8 mentioned yet. I get all my info from here and Instagram, where they post almost daily. Hoping after that 2.0 gives us the next chapter, will be about 9 months. I think I read some where they originally said - once upon a time - big updates every 6 months. Which always seemed wishful thinking to me.
Are the numbers listed in the article a total of both physical and digital? Is this worldwide?
I spent way too much time yesterday on an article about DK Bananza sales that only included physical in the UK, which is probably a very small % of its overall total sales.
I think 3mil is still a great number for a years old game, just want to be sure I know what I'm looking at.
Not a fan of single player but I can see it working for this. I expect Soulslikes amounts of death so they can torture you in different ways starting with hooks flying toward your face.
Was a big fan of the early movies, the later ones got kinda lame, can't be bothered w/ the current or recent shows.
Have they made a Tremors vs Cenobites movie yet? Kevin Bacon vs Pinhead has potential.ð

Re: PS5 Console Sales Surpass 80 Million Milestone, Closing in on PS3

Re: Sony Admits PS5 Live Service Push Is Not Going Smoothly
@TrollOfWar " over a certain long period of time"
New $70 sports games come out every year though, does less than a year of support qualify as a long period of time?
Fluid.
Re: Sony Admits PS5 Live Service Push Is Not Going Smoothly
@themightyant " once established "
Re: Sony Admits PS5 Live Service Push Is Not Going Smoothly
Re: PS5 Console Sales Surpass 80 Million Milestone, Closing in on PS3
Re: Sony Admits PS5 Live Service Push Is Not Going Smoothly
Disney Speedstorm is insane. ðĪ
Thanks, gave me something to think about.ð

I think "not entirely going smoothly" was general Custer's assessment of the Battle at Little Big Horn. ð
Re: Anime Crossover RPG Super Robot Wars Y Snags PS5 Demo, Progress Carries to Full Game
Re: PS5 Console Sales Surpass 80 Million Milestone, Closing in on PS3

Re: Halo, Power Rangers Headline Helldivers 2 Tinged Fortnite Season on PS5, PS4
3,700 vbux ready to go. ð
Re: Lost Soul Aside Shouldn't Be Delayed Anymore, PS5 Game Goes Gold
Re: Free-to-Play Juggernaut Genshin Impact Is Delisting and Shutting Down PS4 Version
Re: PS5 Sequel Darksiders 4 Has Online and Split-Screen Co-Op, By the Way
@Dyomun Thanks. I am aware it's following on from 1, at least that's what I've read, but I haven't seen anything about whether it ends the story or not. The entire game could just be setup for a grand finale fame in another 5 years or so after this one releases.
If the story doesn't end when this game does I'm not playing it.
Re: Rumour: Xbox Exclusive Starfield Is Getting Some Hefty Gameplay Reworks for Its PS5 Release
Oh well, what are the odds of there being another game like that? ð
Re: Free-to-Play Juggernaut Genshin Impact Is Delisting and Shutting Down PS4 Version
Re: Power Rangers Are Coming to Fortnite, And You Absolutely Must Watch the Reveal Trailer

Maybe now.

Re: Got Time in Your Life for Another PS5 Gacha? Here's How Arknights: Endfield Looks
Short answer no.
Long answer no.
Infinity Nikki had a better season this time w/ 1.8, I'm hoping 2.0 in a couple of months is the next big 100 JRPG game segment. That's enough. Switch 2 & MKW should be here in 3 1/2 hours. DKB tomorrow.ð
Re: PS5 Sequel Darksiders 4 Has Online and Split-Screen Co-Op, By the Way
Maybe in couch co-op the 2nd player only controls the horse? That would still be a lot more co-op then Nintendo offers in a lot of their 2 player couch co-op games.ð
It could still be single player based story w/ the 2nd player just following. I know we aren't supposed to talk about Knack but both games had couch co-op, the 2nd game more than the first. See also about half a dozen Skylanders games.
I'm more curious if they are going to finish the story from the first game. Haven't played it in a decade but I recall it ending sort of on a cliffhanger to set up the 2nd game. I'll play it, solo or co-op, if the story ends. Otherwise I won't.
Re: Darksiders 4 May Finally Be PS5's Answer to Classic Zelda
@Kiefer-Sutherland Thanks. Maybe if this 1 looks good I'll go back and play them all. If I can find them. Not sure what system I have them on. My brain is telling me Wii U but I doubt that's right. If it's PS3, well my console isn't hooked up and we don't have a single fully functioning controller. Possibly PS+ but I think that was 3. Maybe I won't.ð

Re: Darksiders 4 May Finally Be PS5's Answer to Classic Zelda
Really enjoyed tye first game, it was great. Only played the first half of 2nd when it became more of a shooter. Didn't p,ay tye 3rd at all b/c Soulslikes. Played a little of the spinoff games but barely recall any of it.
If they could somehow make a sequel to the first game, similar to the first game, that would be great. But I'm not holding my breath.
Re: Rumour: Leaked PS6 Specs Reveal Affordable, Power Efficient Next-Gen Console
"Backwards compatible with PS5 and PS4"
If they make a handheld that plays discs that would be amazing. ð
I'm probably done w/ new consoles after my Switch 2 arrives on Monday, so I'm all for PS5 getting dual releases the next few years. There really is hardly any reason for new hardware unless you need all your games to be photo realistic.
Past gen consoles served a purpose.
PS-PS2 gave us 3D from 2D, the last great leap
PS2-PS3 gave us HD TV
PS3-PS4 gave us FauxK
PS4-PS5 gave us 4K
Does PS6 need 8K?
How many 8k tvs are out there? There's hardly any 4K streaming content out there. Cable is dead. OTA is HD. I'm not sure how much noticeable difference there even is on a TV sized screen. A portable does not need to do 8k.
So I'm good.

Interesting release schedule. Andor did 3a week, don't think I've ever seen 3, 2, 2, 2, 3 before. We usually wait until a season is over but weekly might be the way to go for this.

Re: Xbox Backtracks on $80 Price Tag for The Outer Worlds 2 Following Public Outcry
@RoomWithaMoose Are you just being wrong on purpose to be annoying or do you really not understand. Sometimes it's hard to tell.
Here's the PS5, not the PS4 the PS5, page for Horizon Forbidden West. There are 2 versions, the base game for $50 and the bundle with the dlc for $60.
https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/horizon-forbidden-west/

Re: Xbox Backtracks on $80 Price Tag for The Outer Worlds 2 Following Public Outcry
@RoomWithaMoose I read in the review on Nintendo Life that the Switch 1 base game was the same base game on Switch 2, no difference.
"Jumping into the base game, nothing has changed, right down to â it seems â the crispness of the textures and resolution, as this older mode is slightly blurrier and not as slick as the newer addition."
https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch-2/super-mario-party-jamboree-nintendo-switch-2-edition-plus-jamboree-tv
I looked in the Nintendo eshop and there is no Switch 2 version of Mario Party Jamboree for $60. There is a $60 Switch version, an $80 Switch 2 version, and a $20 upgrade. I'm pretty sure you can buy the base Horizon FW game on PS5 stand alone w/ the dlc.
https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/super-mario-party-jamboree-nintendo-switch-2-edition-plus-jamboree-tv-switch-2/
$70 for BotW in 2025 is insane, it's a Wii U game, it's almost 10 years old. ðĪ

Re: Xbox Backtracks on $80 Price Tag for The Outer Worlds 2 Following Public Outcry
And this is made even worse b/c the base game on Switch 2 is still the base game on Switch, they didn't update the graphics or anything, so you are paying $80 for a plain old Switch game + a non-optional $20 Switch 2 dlc. ðĪ
Re: PS6 Handheld Becomes More Legit with New PS5 Power Save Mode
Adds too much to the cost. ðĪ

Not the beyond generic title Blades of Fire. That could be anything from a strategy game to a reality tv show.
Not sex. I've seen none.
Not a big marketing push, I've seen very little.
Not a famous director name like Kojima, Miyamoto or Romero (who's game just got canceled).
