Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth went a little crazy with the minigames and side activities, and the quality varies of course, but one that everyone seems to adore is Queen's Blood.
The tactical card game has been a big hit among players, and it seems Square Enix likes it too, as it's set to make a return in the third game in the FF7 remake project.
Speaking to Polygon, director Naoki Hamaguchi talks about Queen's Blood, and how it'll be "enhanced" in the upcoming RPG.
"Queen’s Blood is a very popular and beloved minigame, and I believe a lot of people are still wanting something like that," he says. "I want to expand on Queen’s Blood so that we are enhancing it, and giving you a more powered-up version of it when you see that third installment… Queen’s Blood is still going to be available in the third installment. We just want to expand on it."

So, there you have it. Not only is the card game popular enough that it's coming back, it'll be expanded and enhanced beyond what's seen in Rebirth.
On the topic of minigames, Hamaguchi is asked about the snowboarding sequence, which will inevitably be part of the upcoming game.
"I’m afraid I can’t delve too much into the details, but we understand that it’s not going to be just a simple snowboarding minigame," he tells Polygon. "We want to make sure that it’s incorporated into the story to have that sort of connection with the theming of it."
He also comments that the game is "coming along very smoothly" and that the team is "tracking on time for the milestones we have set". While we don't know how far off the third game is, it really does sound like its development is going swimmingly thus far.

I never say this but I want a Queen’s Blood mobile app. I want to play it if I take a lunch break at work.
I'm glad to hear this. It's my favourite card game after Triple Triad.
A lot of ppl were hoping for like a Queens Blood DLC after Rebirth so this is cool to hear.
Queen's Blood is really cool, one of the best parts of Rebirth!!!
Not surprised.
If it gets incorporated into a chapter again like the ship tournament, I hope it’ll still be skippable.
I liked the queens blood mini game. Will it let me keep all my cards or is it going to reset me back to 0? Would be nice if it would transfer.
@somnambulance Hey if Gwent got it's own spin off, then surely Queen's Blood could get one too
I don’t care much for mini-games in video games, but I was so addicted to this. I would love a standalone title, or as someone else mentioned, a mobile game.
I skipped this minigame every time i had the chance, i just don't have the patience for these card minigames, same with Gwent in Witcher 3 or the Triple Triad game in FF8. Strangely enough, i like Balatro, Slay The Spire and any deckbuild-roguelite game, but they're standalone games, so it makes sense to me. I think o just prefer to focus on the main game when playing stuff like FF7 or Witcher 3
@Oram77 I know some may disagree with me, buuuuut…
Queen’s Blood > Gwent
Square complains about how they don’t hit their financial targets, but a Queen’s Blood standalone is such obvious, easy (and likely lower budget to produce) money. Square, just take a win.
Queens blood was excellent. I rarely get into these side quest games but this really hooked me!
Please no. I gave up on Rebirth because of the forced minigames slowing the actual story to a crawl. When I got to Costa del Sol and was expected to do minigames for swimming outfits to progress the story, I couldn't take it any more and dropped it.
I like it when minigames are entirely optional in games. I liked triple triad, which broke ffviii but it wasn't forced upon me. Could have played the game without touching it.
YEEEES! I usually skip mini-games, but Queen's Blood was SO fun. Honestly I dug all of the mini games from Rebirth.
