Square Enix has decided on a name for the final instalment of its Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, the publisher has now confirmed.
From the beginning of November 2025, it was reported Square Enix had narrowed its options down to two names, and a final decision would be made after Paris Games Week. Speaking to GameSpot, game director Naoki Hamaguchi shared the decision has now been officially made.
"It was up to Mr. Nomura to decide which it is. And yes, after returning from Paris Games Week, he did choose one, so I can say the title has been locked," Hamaguchi said.

After the Remake name for the first game and Rebirth for the second, one popular fan theory was the last part would be called Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. However, just earlier this week, another Square Enix-published game in Life Is Strange: Reunion took the name. Of course, this doesn't mean the Final Fantasy 7 Remake game can't also use the name, but it may be something Square Enix wants to avoid when it has another game with the same title on its roster.
