Of all the movie series that could potentially make an appearance in Disney Speedstorm, a free-to-play kart racer, you'd think Pixar's Cars would be near the top of the list.

Well, 18 seasons of post-launch content and updates later, it's finally coming.

Here's a teaser trailer, confirming Lightning McQueen as a new playable character:

He's headlining a Cars-themed seasonal update during Season 18, and will be available in Speedstorm from 12th February.

It's not yet been made clear if he's a freely available character or will cost a premium, but fans are expecting the latter.

We'll obviously know more on the 12th, but either way, a Cars season update makes complete sense for the game.
