@LiamCroft Do you have insomnia? It’s after 2 o’clock in morning 🥱
Anyway it’s a nice surprise to read a new article at this time after a night shift. I’m looking forward to seeing what Ubisoft have done with the Assassin’s Creed series this time. As much as I enjoyed what I played of Odyssey I just found it too big and overwhelming, as a family man there’s not enough hours in the day for me to really get into it. I have the same problem with RDR2, The Witcher 3 and Skyrim.
@Nightcrawler71 It would be great if he was put in the game as an easter egg and even better as an unlockable Trophy/Achievement upon finding him.
Edit: Wilson is actually in the game! I just saw him from PureXbox’s article on the game, he’s in a trailer on PlayStation’s Twitter account, he’s on at 0.34 blink and you’ll miss him. There’s skeletal remains behind Wilson, presumably Chuck Nolan’s? Game must be in set in an alternate universe as those of us who have seen Castaway know how it ends.
Will buy this tomorrow on Xbox One but doubt it’ll be £10.99, PC versions are always cheaper than console so I agree with @suikoden that it’ll be £19.99.
Now now come on guys no need to fall out over a bloody button. Although I do agree with BAMozzy that the share button is of no use to me either and do feel as though other user’s shared contents are shoved down our throats, so to speak.
@Powerpellet I didn’t even think about the built-in mic possibly listening to everything we say but surely they’ll be an option to turn it off completely but I’m also sure some people would still be paranoid thinking it’s not really entirely turned off. Let’s not get our tinfoil hats out just yet till we know more.
Oh great another RE7 🙄 has much I enjoyed it, to me that was in no way a traditional RE game as Capcom could of claimed it was a new IP under a different name and none of us would of batted an eye lid.
I much enjoy the RE universe we see in the remakes of RE2 and RE3 in 3rd person despite RE7 being more tense and an actual horror. I should at least be grateful that we’ve had the recent remakes.
I thought Russians are known to be tough guys? Last years Modern Warfare’s level ‘Piccadilly’ featured a shootout in Piccadilly Circus with civilians being shot and blown up by suicide bombers, us English didn’t kick up a fuss about it.
It’s to be expected due to the current climate we find ourselves in. If people here in the UK are on a tight budget and bothered about having to pay full price for digital games, there’s always Boomerang Rentals to rent your games from £9.99 a month. I only just received my copy of Doom Eternal yesterday even though it was sent last Thursday, again Royal Mail delays expected.
@youreyesonly00 Force is a strong word but you can see where @Loftimus is coming from, they are not giving him/her much choice when a new movie is only available to watch in the cinemas.
Anyhow I hope this bucks the trend and that we all have the option to watch new movie releases at home as well as the cinema (for those who still want the cinematic experience/atmosphere) I just think if movies released for home viewing on the same day as cinemas then I can see movies generating a lot more net profit. We live at a time where the whole world evolves around digital technology, I can certainly see a lot of cinemas closing in the future when people can just watch new movies in the comfort of their home at anytime they want. It’s just a lot more convenient for people and makes sense for everybody, customers, movie distributors etc.
I’m planning on getting the Series X when it releases and a PS5 in a few years once it’s got more exclusives out.
I watched the deep dive video and thought it was mind-numbingly dull but then it was intended for developers at the GDC event who would know what Cerny was waffling on about. Before the video was shown I just think Sony should of told fans that Cerny was going to be very in-depth and on a very technical level regarding the specs of the console and that no games and the console itself would not be revealed at this time. I think it would of saved a lot of disappointment from its fans.
@alonsojr1980 The Xbox Series X was codenamed Project Scarlett, I’m not sure why there was an Anaconda mentioned but it could be something that competes with a PS5 Pro but it’s too early to be talking about those when PS5 and Series X isn’t even out yet.
I believe that MS will release a Series S (Lockhart) but not along side the Series X as it could affect the Series X sales but it would be strange to release a more powerful console first then a weaker one second as it’s always been the other way round in the past.
@Rob_230 Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport 8/Horizon 5, Gears of War 6, Hellblade 2, The Outer Worlds 2, Flight Simulator 2020 and there will be others with all the studio acquisitions. You may not be interested in any of those but there are millions of others who are.
Before you mention that you can play those on PC, not many people would want the hassle of setting up and upgrading a PC, there’s a lot more casual gamers out there that would rather just game on a console in the comfort of their living room on a sofa.
I agree that PlayStation have great exclusives that are system sellers as I’ve bought 3 PS4’s just to play the latest exclusives but because most of them are single player story driven games, they are the type where once you’ve finished it you move on and don’t look back. It’s the reason I’ve went through 3 PS4s and now don’t own one as I’ve finished the exclusives that I was interested in. At least Halo, Forza and Gears all have great multiplayer to go along with the single player experience.
Even if the Series X is more powerful and has certain features that are better than the PS5, you can bet Sony will eventually release something like a PS5 Pro when the PS5 is in its mid-life cycle but then I can also see Microsoft bringing something out like a Series XL (a silly name I know) to do one better again like they did with the Xbox One X but we’re a way off if anything like that happens.
Since when was the Pure Xbox site back up and running? This is great news for me as an Xbox gamer but I’ll still be frequenting this site on a daily basis since joining over 5 years ago.
Wow this news came out of nowhere! I’m really chuffed about this, I actually still have the case and multiple discs from the 1997 version all in mint condition. Will definitely be buying this when it’s released.
@Eldritch Good shout on X-Files, it did come out PlayStation. I remember playing through the game thinking it was quite ominous and eerie. Don’t see many of these FMV point and click games anymore.
Doom 64!? What year is it? Where’s the rest of the 59 in the series? 😟
Sarcasm over, I’ll definitely be buying this as it’s the only Doom in the series that I have not played. I may even play through this first before Eternal as I’d rather go from playing a downgraded version to the superior version rather than vice versa.
This generation has flown by, it doesn’t feel like it was 7 years ago at all. The PS4 still has plenty of life left in it, especially the Pro but I’m looking forward to seeing what the PS5 and Series X brings.
I’m still taking my kids to see it this weekend, my youngest is Sonic obsessed atm, so even if we don’t rate it at least my youngest will enjoy it regardless. I thought it looked alright from the trailer.
I really hope GTA 6 is only going to be made for next gen consoles, I don’t want to see it release on PS4 and XB1 then be remastered on PS5 and XSX like we saw when it first released on PS3 and 360.
I may be in the minority here but I’m actually glad all theses games are being delayed, it’s obviously got something to do with wanting to port them over to PS5 and XSX as well as wanting more time to polish them. It just means we’ll have the option to play the games at their very best on the next gen consoles and I’m happy to wait till then.
@FullbringIchigo To be fair Push Square has been covering certain Xbox news over the years, especially lately with the Series X because it’s the main competitor to the PS5 so it’s relevant.
Also I think Push Square could do with reporting on other stuff rather than just PlayStation, what with Sony rarely engaging with others these days so there’s hardly anything to report on PlayStation wise. There’s only so many times they can keep reposting old articles like Best PS4 Racing Games, Best Sports, Best Open World etc just because they are having a slow news day.
I doubt Sony will ever go back to E3 and if the Series X is Microsoft’s last console then E3 will most definitely be no more. It’ll be an end of an era, people will have fond memories but will also accept that times are a changing.
I think Xbox just knows that they are never going to be competing at the level PlayStation is at. I would just love for them to say ‘if we can’t beat them, lets join them’ and for them to just work with Sony to bring their first party games over on a PS console and work together to create the ultimate gaming console. I can’t see Sony allowing GamePass on their console though. It’ll never happen anyway but it would be great for us all if it did.
I’m looking to buy a new tv sometime this year but not an 8K one as they will be at silly prices for at least a few years, like 4K was when they first came out. I don’t think we will even see that much of a difference from 4K to 8K unless you sat in an unrealistic viewing distance, like your face right up to the screen that you can’t even view the whole screen.
I’m after one mainly for hdmi 2.1, game VRR and preferably Dolby Vision, if I can have them on a decent priced 4K HDR tv then that’s what I’ll get. PS5 and XSX will be aiming to deliver 4K 60fps and may be 120fps with some games but if either console support games with 8K they’ll be in the very few. Realistically we could expect 8K to be the standard if there was ever a PS6 but that’s at least 6 or 7 years away from now.
@BAMozzy Have you still got your Samsung KS8000? If so are you upgrading ready for the PS5 and XSX? I’m tore between a QLED Samsung with all the bells and whistles (hdmi 2.1, game VRR etc) or an LG OLED with the same features.
It may have gotten double the attention but I bet it would of also had double the disappointment since they didn’t unveil the console itself. At least with the Xbox Series X we got to see the console and a vague release date.
Also the PS5 WILL sell a lot more than the XSX, probably even double. It’s just too predictable with the brand being so big worldwide and we saw how the PS4 is a massive sales success over the Xbox One. It shouldn’t come as a surprise either as some say on here, “In other news, water is wet”.
@Nintyfan You say XSX has no exclusives but to people like me who have no interest in PCs and only care about consoles, they are exclusive to me. Which games are these you say that are now multi platform?
I’d like to know how you think GamePass is bad for the consumer? Well over 100 games to download and play for £7.99 a month and with new games added all the time. They always have offers on where you pay a measly £1 for the first 3 months. All I’ve seen is people saying how amazing the deal is.
Also Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is coming to GamePass when it releases this year and from what I’ve seen of it it’s going to be the best looking and most ambitious game ever made, it looks just like real-life. I know what I seen was most likely running on a powerful PC but I’m sure we won’t see much difference when it’s running on the XSX. Games like this alone are worth paying GamePass for.
Absolutely no surprise GTA V being number one but glad it is, it’s my favourite game ever so far. Not surprised about multiple FIFAs making the top 10 either as here in the UK we live and breathe football (soccer to you yanks) religiously.
@GarySan You said exactly what I was thinking, we don’t need an analyst to tell us this. The PS brand has been around since the mid 90s, it’s a brand that everybody knows and loves, people who aren’t even gamers will most likely have a PlayStation under their tv rather than an Xbox because it’s the more popular brand.
It’s Nintendo that really competes with PS in terms of popularity and the fact it’s more family-friendly compared to PS and Xbox. But this year for me it’s all about the Xbox Series X, I’m thinking of getting the kids a Switch this Christmas then get a PS5 in 2-3 years time when it’s got a decent number of exclusives released.
They look amazing, I’m hoping some games on a PS6 and whatever the next new Xbox will be called, will look like this when in motion. I’m probably being too hopeful though.
@JohnnyShoulder He got given the gift vouchers from family and friends, trust me I tried preventing him from buying anything on Fortnite as I think it’s a complete waste of money especially when buying skin packs in bulks when he’s probably only going to have a favourite and stick to that one. But the more I went on about it the more me and my wife were arguing, with her saying it’s his choice and his money and with her wearing the trousers in our relationship I had to just shut up and accept it 🤷🏻♂️
For once I wished Xbox Live was down over Christmas because imagine your kid spending over £100 of Xbox gift cards on just Fortnite skin packs and V-Bucks when there’s a massive sale on for over 700 games 🤦🏻♂️
I’ve either played or own every game that I’m interested in but still it makes me sick that my kid would rather give Epic over £100 of his money than buy an actual game in a sale.
I have to agree with @TheArt that RDR2 should of made it in the list, no other game compares when it has such a detailed open world and an excellent story to boot. But for me GTA V is my game of the decade and after seeing how good RDR2 looks on this gen consoles, I can only imagine how amazing GTA 6 is going to look on the PS5 and XSX.
Some wise advice, if using PSVR for this block the door to avoid an awkward moment when a relative/partner walking in on you while you have a tent pole in your pants. Think you’d have a HARD time CUMING up with an explanation.
Downloaded this earlier from Game Pass, only played the first part in the garden but already know I really like it. Can’t wait to play it more tomorrow.
I actually like the look of it, looks just like a miniature PC tower and flat consoles are so dated the design has been that way since consoles existed. It’s about time we seen a change like this, time to move on and embrace the future. Also apparently it’s been designed like that to keep it as quiet and efficient as possible, seeing as it has 4x the processing power of an Xbox One X!
As for the “muted” response from the crowd you can see why there would be confusion from the name (which I’m not a fan of, MS really need to rethink about that one), if I was in that audience and saw this for the first time I’d of just thought it was just an Xbox One X that has been re-designed, a bit like we saw with PS’s Slim and Xbox’s Elite. The name definitely caused confusion, it’s far to similar to the current Xbox One X.
Other than that though I cannot wait to pre-order it, I’m expecting it to be priced at least £499.99 and that fine by me, got plenty of time to save up for it.
People complaining that you have to sign up for an Xbox live account on your PS4, who cares? It costs you nothing but a moment of your time to play a game from a rival system/console (which you should be grateful of having the option to btw) and complaining that you’ll be “inflating” Xbox live numbers? So what? This affects you how?
Being a fanboy honestly isn’t a good look, it makes you comes across as pathetic and immature. It’s one persons choice to choose not to sign up for an Xbox live account but you’ll only be spiting yourself and losing out on playing a game, MS certainly wouldn’t lose any sleep over it.
@BAMozzy Yeah I certainly wouldn’t buy an 8K TV until a few years at least and when it’s reasonably priced with more 8K content. I’d really like an oled but burn ins put me off, it would be used as the main tv in the living room so kids channels with the Nickelodeon sign for example would be in the top corner constantly while the channel is on would cause it to burn in, same with sky sport channels.
I think I’ll try and get a good deal on a 65” 4K LED tv that has hdmi 2.1.
@BAMozzy Would it not be wise to just save for an 8K TV? I know they are very expensive and hardly anything supporting 8K right now but it would be future-proof and I can see a mid-gen upgrade happening like we saw with the Pro and X but this time actually outputting native 8K.
I’m still happy with my Samsung KS8000 but it has got light bleeding in a couple of places at the very bottom of the screen, so I would be tempted to buy another top spec 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 and VRR at a decent price in time for Scarlett.
Xbox owner here and I think this is pointless, for me at least anyway. I could just go to my game library tab, as I usually do, and see all the games I’ve got installed and just make my decision there and then. Other may like and use it, if so power to them.
There’s some great titles in that lineup but nothing I’ve not already played in the last year or so. You’d think with it being a streaming service they’d be a lot of games available from launch.
I honestly can’t see this being a success but if it had a monthly/annual subscription for the games like GamePass and PS Now and kept adding games, eventually building a library into the hundreds, then I’d even think of picking it up in a year or so but sod having to buy the games outright when I’ve got GamePass and a rental service I’m currently using for new releases.
@RainbowGazelle Your not alone as I was thinking the same thing. He received the world records on account of being the most followed Video Game Director on Twitter and Instagram. Being a Video Game Director obviously has something to do with games, I mean the clue is in the title 🤦🏻♂️ Why else would he have amassed so many followers if it had nothing to do with his games?
I can’t see it surpassing the PS2’s 155 million record, not when the PS5 is releasing in a little over a year from now but still over 100 million for the PS4 is still a massive success.

Re: Analyst Expects PS5 to Outsell Xbox Series X at Launch with Similar Price Points
Re: You'll Never Be Able to Guess the UK's Top Selling Games of the Decade
Absolutely no surprise GTA V being number one but glad it is, it’s my favourite game ever so far. Not surprised about multiple FIFAs making the top 10 either as here in the UK we live and breathe football (soccer to you yanks) religiously.
Re: Analyst Expects PS5 to Outsell Xbox Series X at Launch with Similar Price Points
Re: Random: No, This Isn't Our Breakfast - It Was Made in Dreams on PS4
They look amazing, I’m hoping some games on a PS6 and whatever the next new Xbox will be called, will look like this when in motion. I’m probably being too hopeful though.
Re: PSN Survives Christmas Day Relatively Unscathed
@JohnnyShoulder He got given the gift vouchers from family and friends, trust me I tried preventing him from buying anything on Fortnite as I think it’s a complete waste of money especially when buying skin packs in bulks when he’s probably only going to have a favourite and stick to that one. But the more I went on about it the more me and my wife were arguing, with her saying it’s his choice and his money and with her wearing the trousers in our relationship I had to just shut up and accept it 🤷🏻♂️
Re: PSN Survives Christmas Day Relatively Unscathed
For once I wished Xbox Live was down over Christmas because imagine your kid spending over £100 of Xbox gift cards on just Fortnite skin packs and V-Bucks when there’s a massive sale on for over 700 games 🤦🏻♂️
I’ve either played or own every game that I’m interested in but still it makes me sick that my kid would rather give Epic over £100 of his money than buy an actual game in a sale.
Re: Game of the Decade: The Near Misses That Deserve a Mention
I have to agree with @TheArt that RDR2 should of made it in the list, no other game compares when it has such a detailed open world and an excellent story to boot. But for me GTA V is my game of the decade and after seeing how good RDR2 looks on this gen consoles, I can only imagine how amazing GTA 6 is going to look on the PS5 and XSX.
Re: Feature: You've Got to See These Beautiful Wooden Models of PlayStation Game Boxes
Ahh Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, had good memories playing that game back in the day.
Re: Guide: How to Watch VR Porn on PSVR
Some wise advice, if using PSVR for this block the door to avoid an awkward moment when a relative/partner walking in on you while you have a tent pole in your pants. Think you’d have a HARD time CUMING up with an explanation.
Not that I’m speaking from experience 👀
Re: Untitled Goose Game Is Out Today on PS4, and There's a Free Dynamic Theme to Celebrate
Downloaded this earlier from Game Pass, only played the first part in the garden but already know I really like it. Can’t wait to play it more tomorrow.
Re: Xbox Series X Has a Share Button, Hellblade Sequel
Re: Minecraft: Bedrock Edition Will See You Login to an Xbox Account on Your PS4
Re: Deal: Highly Recommended Philips 4K OLED TV Drops Below £1,000
@BAMozzy Yeah I certainly wouldn’t buy an 8K TV until a few years at least and when it’s reasonably priced with more 8K content. I’d really like an oled but burn ins put me off, it would be used as the main tv in the living room so kids channels with the Nickelodeon sign for example would be in the top corner constantly while the channel is on would cause it to burn in, same with sky sport channels.
I think I’ll try and get a good deal on a 65” 4K LED tv that has hdmi 2.1.
Re: Deal: Highly Recommended Philips 4K OLED TV Drops Below £1,000
@BAMozzy Would it not be wise to just save for an 8K TV? I know they are very expensive and hardly anything supporting 8K right now but it would be future-proof and I can see a mid-gen upgrade happening like we saw with the Pro and X but this time actually outputting native 8K.
I’m still happy with my Samsung KS8000 but it has got light bleeding in a couple of places at the very bottom of the screen, so I would be tempted to buy another top spec 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 and VRR at a decent price in time for Scarlett.
Re: Xbox's New 'Surprise Me' Button Would Be a Great Addition to PS4
Xbox owner here and I think this is pointless, for me at least anyway. I could just go to my game library tab, as I usually do, and see all the games I’ve got installed and just make my decision there and then. Other may like and use it, if so power to them.
Re: Google Stadia's Weak Launch Lineup Won't Have PS Now Sweating Yet
There’s some great titles in that lineup but nothing I’ve not already played in the last year or so. You’d think with it being a streaming service they’d be a lot of games available from launch.
I honestly can’t see this being a success but if it had a monthly/annual subscription for the games like GamePass and PS Now and kept adding games, eventually building a library into the hundreds, then I’d even think of picking it up in a year or so but sod having to buy the games outright when I’ve got GamePass and a rental service I’m currently using for new releases.
Re: Hideo Kojima Just Received Two Guinness World Records That Have Nothing to Do with Games
Re: PS4 Is Now the Second Best Selling Home Console Ever
I can’t see it surpassing the PS2’s 155 million record, not when the PS5 is releasing in a little over a year from now but still over 100 million for the PS4 is still a massive success.
Re: Don't Expect Dragon Age 4 to Release Until at Least April 2022
The form BioWare is in, I’m finding it hard to get even remotely excited for this. If DA4 flops I would be shocked if BioWare didn’t close down.
