Re: Ubisoft Announces In-Game, Playable NFTs Called Digits

“make no mistake, other publishers will be keeping a very close eye on how this all plays out.”

Well if we really don’t want this to become a thing in video games we should all nip this in the bud and not support it at all, it would soon be scrapped and if enough negative noise is made then it may deter other publishers from implementing them in their own games. But it’s the casual gamers, mostly kids I imagine, that don’t care about the negativity that surrounds these sort of practices and it’s those who are part of the masses who make things like this successful. Sad times for those of us who dislike these sort of things.

Re: Rockstar Apologises for the State of GTA Trilogy on PS5, PS4

MaccaMUFC

@Texan_Survivor That’s 11 platforms you listed not 10 lol

I’m currently playing Vice City now on my Series X and with almost 15 hours of play I’ve not experienced any issues like crashes or bugs. Same with San Andreas but I’ve only put just over 2 hours on that. GTA III on the other hand, I’ve had a few issues. With over 36 hours of play it had crashed 8 times and I noticed it dipped well below 30 FPS at times while it was in performance mode, as well as things like flickering textures. But despite that I managed to 100% it and I’m still happy I pre-ordered. I’ll look forward to what patches do to the games though.

Re: GTA Trilogy's Inevitable Backlash Is Already Brewing

MaccaMUFC

I’ve not long started GTA III and got to say it looks great, it plays exactly like the PS2 version as I remembered.

Just a couple of things that look odd to me though and that’s the small heads on the NPCs and picking up “ladies of the night” in the original they worked the suspension on the cars, in this Definitive Edition they just get in your car, give you a health boost up to 125 then get out and walk away. What’s that all about? In GTA V they get on top of your character and start moaning all sorts but in GTA III that’s a no-no? 😂

Re: GTA Trilogy's PS5, PS4 Soundtracks Missing Songs from PS2 Originals

MaccaMUFC

Dammit we should of bought more Shark Cards people 🤦🏻‍♂️

Meh, it’s a bit disappointing but it’s not going to stop my enjoyment of the games. Plus if your that bothered about it just play a music app like Spotify in the background while playing the game, in doing that you can play your precious Billie Jean as well as songs that weren’t even in the originals.

Re: GTA Trilogy PS5, PS4 Gameplay Shared Online

MaccaMUFC

@JB_Whiting We’re not talking about one game here, it’s three open-world games in one package. Rockstar haven’t just simply bumped up the resolution and called it a day, a lot of work has been put in to make many significant improvements. If only there was another category named for games in between a remaster and a remake because this would certainly fit into that category.

Re: GTA Trilogy Gameplay Shared Online

MaccaMUFC

These look great and I’m happy that I pre-ordered. I heard a couple of licensed songs from VC so that’s a good sign.

I don’t get why some people are being negative about it, Rockstar said from the off that they would be keeping the Definitive Edition as close to the originals as possible. What where you really expecting? For them to look like GTA V? They are remasters, not remakes and they are as close to the originals just like Rockstar said they would be.

Re: GTA Trilogy PS5, PS4 Preload Rolling Out Now

MaccaMUFC

@Stocksy If that’s true about the licensed music tracks then that’s a pretty big omission as they play a big part of the games to many people. It just wouldn’t be the same without some of the iconic songs, especially in Vice City which the 80s music really adds to the atmosphere of the game.

I’ve already pre-ordered the trilogy and this won’t affect my enjoyment of it but I’d still be disappointed if a lot of the music is not included. It’s not as if Take Two and Rockstar are strapped for cash, they can absolutely afford to have every track included from the original trilogy.

Re: GTA Trilogy PS5, PS4 Preload Rolling Out Now

MaccaMUFC

@AFCC I’m in the same boat, I would of rather a midnight release cos I could of then played it at about 9 in the morning once the kids and wife was at work. But at 3PM that’s when my kids finish school so I’m having to pick them up then the wife, sort tea out etc. It’ll be 9 at night before I can sit and play it in peace.

Re: Battlefield 2042 Has Some Pretty Diverse Maps in Latest Trailer

MaccaMUFC

@AFCC I agree, we’ve got Hell Let Loose for that. I was unimpressed after playing the Beta and I’m a big Battlefield fan buying every release day one since Bad Company. This’ll be the first time I won’t be buying a new Battlefield game on release, instead I’ll be buying the GTA Trilogy Remaster this month.

Re: This Is What the GTA Trilogy Looks Like on PS5, PS4

MaccaMUFC

I’m really happy with what Rockstar have done with the remasters. Everything just looks a lot cleaner, shaper and brighter, particularly the lighting effects. As for the price, £54.99, I think it really warrants it for the quality of the remaster and your essentially getting 3 great open world games for the price. There’s no questioning the quality of them either.

For those who have Xbox Game Pass you can try GTA: SA remaster day one on 11th November. It could be a great way to check out the remaster before laying down £54.99 for the other 2 games in the trilogy. Although if SA is coming to Game Pass on its own, doesn’t that suggest that the games can be purchased individually?

EDIT: Scratch that, I just saw that GTA 3 is coming to PS Now. It’s a great opportunity for both Xbox and PlayStation owners to try these games before deciding to pay full price. What about the poor Switch owners though? 😧

I doubt they’ll be on PS Now and Game Pass for long though going by how long GTA IV and RDR2 where on the services before, which was not very long. It’s a smart move by Rockstar doing this as it they’ll be expecting people to finish or really enjoy the game enough to buy the trilogy.

Re: All PlayStation Studios Games on PC

MaccaMUFC

@JJ2 Would it though? I dare say there’s a lot more casual gamers out there who prefer to sit on their sofa for a quick game of their favourite game than PC gamers who sit at a desk. I don’t see consoles going anywhere at all unless Sony and Microsoft stop manufacturing them because they’ve come up with something else where you can game on the go, like Nintendo have do for many years and Xbox going the same way with Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Re: GTA: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition Finally Announced for PS5, PS4

MaccaMUFC

@kingbreww We get how you feel about this trilogy but I’ve not played them since the original Xbox so it’s gunna be great for people like me to experience these games we grew up playing, all while hopefully being improved to today’s standards. You’ll just need to accept that Rockstar will not probably be bringing GTA 6 till close to the end of the PS5’s and Series X/S’s lifecycle.

Re: GTA: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition Finally Announced for PS5, PS4

MaccaMUFC

@kingbreww Speak for yourself, I honestly can’t wait to revisit these classic gems. Your already writing the games off before you even know what kind of enhancements they are getting. I’d even take GTA IV if that ever came out enhanced.

@Sebatrox Agreed, I’d love the Max Payne Trilogy to be all spruced up for next-gen.

Re: PlayStation Boss Wants a Future Where Sony Games Aren't Gated from a Wider Audience

Literally out of PlayStation fan’s hands and straight into anyone else’s regardless of them owning a PlayStation console or not. Wow.

It seems Jim Ryan and Sony want to do what Microsoft has been doing with Xbox by trying to get as many people to access the games and online service regardless of them owning a console or not. It does makes business sense for Sony as they stand to make a lot of money doing this.

Re: Alan Wake Remastered (PS5) - Compelling Thriller Derailed by Tedious, Repetitive Combat

MaccaMUFC

@johncalmc You spent most of the review criticising the gameplay from a 11 year old game, what did you expect from it? It’s just a remaster, not a remake built from the ground up. I don’t think you reviewed the game with that in mind, instead probably comparing it to other “best-in-class third person narrative adventures”. As you’ll see in here in the comments, a lot of people disagree with your review despite it being your own opinion. I think someone else who is unbiased should of reviewed this IMO.

@velio84 You say John has done excellent work of highlighting what the good and bad parts of the game are but apart from praising the game’s atmosphere and soundtrack he has spent 95% of the review criticising the game with the majority of people in the comments disagreeing with him.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Games for October 2021?

MaccaMUFC

Going by the poll there’s a lot of ungrateful PlayStation fans when it comes to Hell Let Loose, it’s such an amazing game. I get that it won’t be for everyone but PS Plus subscribers are essentially getting a brand new £35 next-gen game for free day one. Maybe it should of came to Game Pass day one instead, it most likely would of been appreciated more as I’ve heard nothing but praise being sung about the game from the Xbox community.

Re: PS5 Has Reached 1 Million UK Sales Faster Than Any Other PlayStation Console

MaccaMUFC

I’ve heard it’s not so hard to pick up a PS5 these days now as most people will of bought one themselves and others bought from scalpers, eventually the demand will die down once people have managed to get one. But with Christmas soon upon us I expect it’ll go back to like it was when it first released.

@get2sammyb Off topic question but are you guys going to be covering Chernobylite, Insurgency: Sandstorm and Hell Let Loose anytime soon? All three games will be released by next week, in fact Chernobylite has released today and Insurgency: Sandstorm releases tomorrow and there has been no mention of them on here lately.

Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Showcase 2021 Deliver on the Hype?

MaccaMUFC

@oconnoclast Well I was expecting to see Sony’s answer to Game Pass. Last year in November, Jim Ryan said there would be “news to come” in response to Game Pass… it’s now almost a year since and we’re still waiting for that response.

Also I thought they would of shown limited edition PS5s, like MS did with the Halo Infinite Series X console and controller. There’s a few other designs too.

There’s no exclusives shown in that showcase that is coming out this year, some are next year, others are 2 and 3 years away. At least Xbox has a couple of big hitters out with Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5.

Re: Talking Point: Did PlayStation Showcase 2021 Deliver on the Hype?

MaccaMUFC

Considering Sony really needed to deliver, they just didn’t. It was no better than Xbox’s E3 showcase, it was actually very similar but obviously with different exclusives. The last part of the showcase saved it imo and I’m looking forward to most of the exclusives. But overall Sony needed to (in Sammy’s words) bring the house down and I think most can agree it really didn’t.

Re: Round Up: Psychonauts 2 Reviews Love the Wacky New Adventure

MaccaMUFC

@Col_McCafferty So if someone hasn’t got a PC or Xbox, MS are a scummy anti-consumer company? I currently don’t have a PlayStation so would I be right in saying Sony are a scummy anti-consumer company because I can’t play their games on anything other than a PS?

Your just a salty Sony fanboy who hates the fact that a MS first party studio has created a really well made game. Be grateful you even have the choice to play it on your precious PS.

Re: UK Sales Charts: GTA 5 Just Keeps on Selling, Hades Makes Top 10

MaccaMUFC

I think we can all assume the real reason GTA V is still selling well to this day is down to the Megalodon shark card bundle that comes with the base game, which is usually under £30 when on a sale. It’s cheaper to buy that than buying the shark card on its own which is £64.99. But that’s usually with digital downloads, I’m not sure if there’s even many physical copies of that bundle these days.

I don’t get why physical sale charts are still a thing on its own these days as it really doesn’t give the full picture on how well a game is really selling given that digital sales play a massive part now. If it’s too much to work out how well a game has sold both physically and digitally then I think it’s redundant having one without the other. A physical chart could show a game that’s sold poorly but sold extremely well digitally. Thats just my two cents anyway.
