@BAMozzy Yeah it certainly makes sense when you put it that way, I just doubt it would help shift Xbox consoles but it could help increase game pass subscriptions for those who can’t wait. Regardless of the game releasing on PS5 at a later date it’s still going to sell millions of copies, Forza Horizon 5 is proof of that.
@Antb73 Like I said above, I doubt even a new Forza Horizon game would shift many consoles, if any at all, considering Xbox console sales have been on a sharp decline for some time and also the fact FH6 will be on Game Pass day one, sales will be severely affected. Genius.
I’m surprised it’s not releasing on PS5 along side Xbox and PC at launch. I wonder what the reasoning is for this as they would probably sell several million copies on PS5 alone. I’ll be playing it on Game Pass on Series X so it doesn’t affect me, just surprised it’s not going on PS5 day one.
As Jacko11 said it’s going to be the biggest entertainment launch of all time. It’ll be breaking all sorts of records for sales, revenue, how fast it sells etc. It’s going to be immense and we’re not going to stop seeing and hearing about it for a long time from its release.
There’ll be several reasons for this like there being many more gamers today than in 2013 and social media being much more popular that reaches many more people than over a decade ago which can only increase the games popularity.
If GTA 6 doesn’t get a second delay and actually releases in May then I think we should expect a very dry summer in regards to new game releases as so many millions will most likely still be playing GTA 6 months after release, especially when GTA Online 2.0 is up and running.
@Jaz007 This new update has implemented a change that was requested by the playerbase, why would Techland have it as an option when the majority of it’s playerbase wanted this change? Makes no sense having it as an option, so it’s absolutely right they made it mandatory.
I’m currently watching the streamers play the game but doesn’t anyone think that it looks and plays differently to what it looked like at the start of the show?
The first time it was shown it looked intense and engaging with spectacular things happening like downing an helicopter and it crashing into the building with great looking destruction. What I’m seeing now just plays like BF 2042.
If this goes the same way as Concord, which let’s be honest is looking more likely than not, then how many more live service projects have to fail before Sony abandons the idea all together? There must be a limit to the years and money wasted for Sony to just admit that enough is enough and just fully focus on single player games.
@RudeAnimat0r Kojima is a complete one-off, there will never be anyone like him no matter how much someone tries to be like him.
@lazarus11 Any game that releases that uses his name when he’s no longer around and the game turns out to be rubbish, no one would blame Kojima because they know things would of been different if he was still around and involved. He’s definitely going to be a huge loss to the gaming industry when his time is up.
Maybe it’s because I’m watching a YouTube video on my phone but I can honestly say I can see no differences between PS5’s performance mode and PS5 Pro, they are both totally identical. For a £700 mid-gen upgraded console I’d expect there to be night and day differences.
Sony are honestly better off just releasing certain first-party games like this on Xbox rather than PC, they are more concerned about sales and profits which they would gain more of releasing on Xbox even despite its own PlayStation dwarfing it. You just know there would be at least tens of thousands, possibly even more, if this came to Xbox.
It’s looking like investing in an 8K tv for PS6 is a good move even if games would only running at 30fps, that could increase to 40fps with VRR. If MicroLED still isn’t widely available in stores by then I can see myself getting an 8K tv if I ever need to replace the one I have now.
@nessisonett It may only be one game but no one can accuse Sony of fault advertisement 😉
Microsoft could buy Take-Two Interactive and EA and both GTA VI and FC 26 would still sell way more on PlayStation. Sony will probably be feeling a bit silly now after making a fuss about the ABK acquisition as losing the CoD marketing rights and the fact it’s on Game Pass day one has made no difference to sales on PS.
MS would well point to this evidence if they ever plan to make more big acquisitions in the future.
@DennisReynolds In our house we watch the first two Home Alone movies every single Christmas without fail, same with Elf. As good as Die Hard is, it isn’t a Christmas movie it just happens to be set around Xmas.
I’m looking forward to seeing Macaulay Culkin in season 2 and it would be great if there was a little nod to the Home Alone movies too.
As someone who has a base PS5 for just exclusives I’ve still got Spider-Man 2, Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarok all to finish and I’d love to play all those games on the PS5 Pro seeing as I have a top spec 4K 120hz VRR TV. Problem is even if I traded in my base PS5 for a Pro I’d still need a disc drive, with some of the games being on disc, so in total I’d be looking at paying £500. I think most would agree to just stick with base PS5 at that price point.
I’ve always been a fan of Fury but since Usyk came onto the heavyweight scene I’ve been liking the bloke more and more, he just seems so genuine and a really nice fella. Him dressing up as one of my favourite video game characters just tops it off for me 👏🏼
@OldGamer999 I’m in the same boat as you with your #86 comment. This is a proper full on remaster that’s bordering on a remake but like you I’ve also finished and done/seen everything, including the dlc so I honestly can’t see myself playing Zero Dawn again despite this being an amazing remaster. If I hadn’t of 100% the game then I’d of definitely paid £10 for the upgrade.
I’ve still got Forbidden West to play through for the first time so my next adventure with Aloy will be with that game.
@StylesT I think I’ll just go for the ROG Ally, it’s a lot more expensive but it’s practically a handheld PC. The ROG Ally X is a better model but no way am I paying £800 for it when I can get the Z1 Extreme for £450.
I’m interested in getting one but since I only play PS exclusives is it worth it? My son would also like to play Fortnite, Roblox etc but I don’t have PS+ for online or do those games not require it?
I was initially looking at getting something similar for Xbox but the ROG Ally is like £600 and I’m looking for a dedicated handheld that isn’t a Switch and not one of those handheld controllers that you attach your mobile phone to.
It is such a shame but it was always inevitable that magazines/papers were going to be a thing of the past. I used to work at a printing company that printed local papers as well as the Daily Star, Sunday Sun etc and in the 4 years I was there I just saw we were printing less and less bulks as time went on.
I used to buy OPM during the PS1 and PS2 days then starting buying OXM when I got the OG Xbox. Times have changed and now we have sites like this that have made those magazines redundant but I do miss the days of going to the shop every month for a new issue of a magazine and picking up some snacks and a milkshake for when reading the magazine.
Got to wonder what benefit(s) the game will have being played on a PS5 Pro compared to Series X then. I can’t see it being significant enough to buy the Pro and I also can’t see Rockstar adding GTA VI to the list of games that are being enhanced for specifically for PS5 Pro. We still haven’t even got a 60fps patch for RDR2 after all these years since it released.
If the PS5 Pro has 1TB then I can see it being £550/$650 but if it comes with 2TB then £650/$750.
Since I already have a PS5 and only play exclusives on it, I see no reason buying the Pro. If I played third party games on PlayStation then I’d of absolutely bought the Pro. I have about 900 games on Xbox and I use Game Pass all year round so no matter the specs of the Pro I doubt I could just leave the Xbox ecosystem for more pixels, frames and other enhancements that it would have over Series X.
I very rarely buy games at full price on release that are more than £50 since I use Game Pass and rent day one physical games from another rental service. That being said when it comes to GTA VI I’m willing to pay well over the odds for it because it’s one of those games you just know that is going to live up to the hype. The base game could be £100+ and I’d still buy it, if there is going to be a special or ultimate edition then I’m buying that even at £150+ but really we’re probably going to see the base game at £74.99 or £79.99 which is going to make a massive difference when the game will sell tens of millions of copies within the first 24 hours.
@Swirly Yes it is, Catherine O’Hara, an actress from my favourite Christmas childhood movies Home Alone 1 & 2.
This is one of the negatives when we want movies/series to be faithful to video games, we know what to expect if the storylines are similar. I’m definitely still going to watch season 2 as I really enjoyed the first season.
This is great news if true. I wasn’t even a teenager when I first played Soul Reaver on PS1 and I loved it. I played Blood Omen too back in 1996, I’m really showing my age here it seems like it was a lifetime ago!
@dadou @2here2there Shadow Man Remastered came out January 2022 and was remastered by Nightdive Studios, I’ve yet to play it myself but that game is another classic from my childhood.
@Czar_Khastik It seems we have the same type of wife, the ones who say video games are for kids and that we need to grow up but I can’t imagine me ever giving up gaming, I can see me gaming when I’m an old man.
It’s after 5pm here in the UK, what time was the showcase announced last year? I feel it’s too late in the day to be receiving that kind of news.
@NinjaNicky Apparently there’s already a remake of Black Flag in the works.
As for one of the pros of this game, “Stunning visuals”? I’ve seen better looking PS4 games. It looks quite rough and janky. The npcs look soulless and robot-like.
@TrickyDicky99 As amazing as the game is, I see it more of a showcase game that shows off the Duel Sense’s haptic feedback. Not sure PC owners will be clamouring for the game to be ported either.
What exclusives do PS5 have now that have not been ported to PC, excluding future titles because we know God of War Ragnarok and Spider-Man 2 will eventually release on PC within the next couple of years.
I think the novelty wore off for many people after the original PSVR, would explain why we’ve heard nothing of the headset of late.
As others have said, Sony would have probably of been better off investing in Vita 2 instead. It would never compete with the Switch sales wise but I bet it would have been a lot more popular than PSVR2. I’d of definitely considered getting a Vita 2 especially if it ported original Vita games over.
I’d definitely get it if the PS5 was my primary console but since I only use it for exclusives it’s not worth getting imo. It doesn’t look like Xbox will be releasing a mid-gen console to rival it seeing as Phil Spencer isn’t in favour of it and already considers the Series X as mid-gen. I don’t agree with him on that.
Apparently there’s going to be a completely new-gen Xbox console out by 2027 so if all these rumours turn out to be true then looks like PlayStation will only be ahead for a few of years in terms of console tech.
I love how R* make their games so detailed, so much to see, do and hear. When GTA V came out I spent hours just exploring, taking in the sights and looking at everything like stickers, posters, food packets, leaflets etc. GTA VI looks like it’s taking that up several notches and I can’t wait to lose myself in Vice City.
@johncalmc The game could cost £100+ and it would still sell as much as it will at £70. It’s just one of those games that doesn’t make people think about cost, it will be a must have and people will buy it no matter what. It’s clearly now a once in a (console) generation series now.
Microsoft would do well to tell Activision to take at least a couple of years before releasing the next CoD. The game needs to innovate or it’s going to end up dwindling its fan base and no longer be the top dog, leaving EA Sports FC to dominate the sales charts year in year out.
@Mauzuri I’m with you about kids these days not appreciating gaming like we did growing up with Crash, Spyro etc. Two of my sons mainly play just Fortnite, Roblox and R6 Siege. When it’s Christmas and their birthdays they spend all their Xbox gift cards on battle passes and cosmetics. I’d sooner rather buy a game in a sale or a new release like Alan Wake 2 which I’m buying at the end of this month.
On topic, I’ve heard over the years that there’s plenty of nonces on Roblox so it’s worth maybes keeping an eye on who your kids talk to and who they message when playing the game. I’ve put parental control on my youngest’s Series S.
Even if there is an upgrade path, would it even be worth it? Can we really expect Naughty Dog to do much to improve a 3 year old game? I finished Part II just end of last year on PS5 and it looked great while running at 60fps, so if this is indeed a remaster then I really can’t see what they can do to justify it. I can’t even see a remake, like the recent Part I, making much of a difference either.
Am I missing something here? The article was worded as if ray-tracing at 60fps is unheard of and a first but both SM Remastered and Miles Morales had ray-racing at 60fps so what’s so special about SM 2 having it when it’s expected anyway?
It could have been worse, like a direct PS3 port which didn’t even display at 720p. PS4/PS5 and Switch players are still getting the short end of the stick compared to Xbox due to no multiplayer and an extortionate price on release.
It makes sense assuming it’s GTA VI because what other game published by Take Two can bringing in that sort of money within that time?
I’m really looking forward to GTA VI but given how Rockstar has been heavily focused on GTA Online all these years, I can only imagine they are going to put more effort into that in GTA VI rather than the actual story and open world. They always pushed the boundaries of gaming design with incredible in-depth detail to their open world when it comes to GTA so I really hope they don’t jeopardise that for GTA Online 2.0.
Wait, so this port isn’t the same version as the One X? It’s just exactly the same as the PS3 version? Oh wow! That just further justifies everyone’s anger at the £50 price point.
That reveal trailer is very misleading because you can clearly see it’s in 4K with updated assets, basically showing the game running on One X or Series X but advertising it for PS4 and Switch. WTH is going on over at Rockstar? 🤯
It will be because it all comes down to money and keeping shareholders happy but they will have to eventually leave consoles like the PS4 behind for good due to games being more technical. Even the PS5 is technically outdated compared to current tech that are currently available, never mind the PS4 whose specs are ancient these days. I mean we’re still having to choose between 30/60fps for many games due to current gen consoles not able to output full native 4K @60fps.
Sony should maybe think about signing that 10 year deal with Microsoft now, otherwise MS won’t be obligated to keep CoD on PlayStation for the next 10 years….👀
I thought it was a poor, a few decent looking games got revealed but the best thing about it was having a release date for Spider-Man 2. When that is the best thing then you know it was a bad show.
I was intrigued about the “grand finale” but when I found out it was FFVII, I just rolled my eyes as it’s not my kind of game at all but know many gamers love the franchise so I’m at least happy for them.
So now we’ve had Sony’s Showcase and this show, both were poor imo, Xbox’s showcase surely can’t be any worse but I’m expecting it to put on this year’s best showcase and completely blow other shows out the water.
@LiamCroft Your confusing too many of us here with the word ‘Showcase’ because you also had me thinking you were referring to the PlayStation Showcase from that headline too but no matter, least you’ll know for next time 😅
I actually enjoyed the 08’ reboot of Alone in the Dark, it wasn’t great but I’m hoping this new one will be.

Microsoft would do well to tell Activision to take at least a couple of years before releasing the next CoD. The game needs to innovate or it’s going to end up dwindling its fan base and no longer be the top dog, leaving EA Sports FC to dominate the sales charts year in year out.
Re: Gollum May Not Be the Worst PS5, PS4 Game of the Year After All
@get2sammyb I shall look forward to reading the review. My sympathies to the poor sod who draws the short straw.
Re: Roblox Is Already Tangling with Call of Duty, Fortnite as the Most Played Game on PS5, PS4
Re: PS5, PS4 Players Will 'Remain Welcome' As Xbox Closes $69 Billion Activision Blizzard Buyout
@Terra_Custodes “Bethesda was a big loss already, as mediocre as their products are.”
Starfield, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonoured and Quake would all like a word with you.
Re: The Last of Us 2 PS5 Remaster Seems to Be Real
Even if there is an upgrade path, would it even be worth it? Can we really expect Naughty Dog to do much to improve a 3 year old game? I finished Part II just end of last year on PS5 and it looked great while running at 60fps, so if this is indeed a remaster then I really can’t see what they can do to justify it. I can’t even see a remake, like the recent Part I, making much of a difference either.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy Stops The Crew Motorfest from Topping the Podium
I’m surprised the UK Sales Chart is still being reported on these days, it’s almost as irrelevant as reporting DVD/CD sales.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Has Ray Tracing at 60fps on PS5
Am I missing something here? The article was worded as if ray-tracing at 60fps is unheard of and a first but both SM Remastered and Miles Morales had ray-racing at 60fps so what’s so special about SM 2 having it when it’s expected anyway?
Re: PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Spending Has Completely Plateaued in USA
Just wait until next Wednesday when Starfield releases, Game Pass subscriptions will sky rocket.
Re: Red Dead Redemption Runs at 4K, 30FPS on PS5
It could have been worse, like a direct PS3 port which didn’t even display at 720p. PS4/PS5 and Switch players are still getting the short end of the stick compared to Xbox due to no multiplayer and an extortionate price on release.
Re: GTA 6 Release Window Seemingly Narrowed Down to Fiscal Year 2024
It makes sense assuming it’s GTA VI because what other game published by Take Two can bringing in that sort of money within that time?
I’m really looking forward to GTA VI but given how Rockstar has been heavily focused on GTA Online all these years, I can only imagine they are going to put more effort into that in GTA VI rather than the actual story and open world. They always pushed the boundaries of gaming design with incredible in-depth detail to their open world when it comes to GTA so I really hope they don’t jeopardise that for GTA Online 2.0.
Re: Red Dead Redemption PS4 Announcement Gets Slaughtered by Fans
Wait, so this port isn’t the same version as the One X? It’s just exactly the same as the PS3 version? Oh wow! That just further justifies everyone’s anger at the £50 price point.
That reveal trailer is very misleading because you can clearly see it’s in 4K with updated assets, basically showing the game running on One X or Series X but advertising it for PS4 and Switch. WTH is going on over at Rockstar? 🤯
Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Is Being Ported Backwards to Decade-Old PS4
It will be because it all comes down to money and keeping shareholders happy but they will have to eventually leave consoles like the PS4 behind for good due to games being more technical. Even the PS5 is technically outdated compared to current tech that are currently available, never mind the PS4 whose specs are ancient these days. I mean we’re still having to choose between 30/60fps for many games due to current gen consoles not able to output full native 4K @60fps.
Re: Microsoft Beats US Regulator FTC in Activision Blizzard Buyout Battle
Sony should maybe think about signing that 10 year deal with Microsoft now, otherwise MS won’t be obligated to keep CoD on PlayStation for the next 10 years….👀
Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2023 a Sizzler or a Wash Out?
Re: New Alone in the Dark PS5 Details to Be Shared in Thursday's Showcase
@LiamCroft Your confusing too many of us here with the word ‘Showcase’ because you also had me thinking you were referring to the PlayStation Showcase from that headline too but no matter, least you’ll know for next time 😅
I actually enjoyed the 08’ reboot of Alone in the Dark, it wasn’t great but I’m hoping this new one will be.
