@ShogunRok Appreciate the guide, last thing I want to do when starting it at midnight is spending the hour deciding which character build I want to settle with before going to bed. After reading the review about its satisfying gun-play, I’m thinking of sticking with The Ranger.
@Splat Games running both 4K and 60fps should definitely be the new standard on PS5 for both 1st and 3rd party games, any less than that then developers will be accused of being lazy and not using the console to its full potential.
@soracloud28 I wouldn’t bet on it to “find it’s footing” I wouldn’t even be surprised if it was announced in a year or two that it’s servers were shutting down due to the lack of player activity, which in turn would make the game completely unplayable and may as well be delisted. I honestly think BioWare should cut it’s losses and focus on a new game like DA for the next generation of consoles because in ANTHEM it seems they are just flogging a dead horse.
We can’t expect every PS4 game to be backwards-compatible but I would expect all the first party games to do so, I only care about them seeing as I always only get a PS console after 2 or 3 years after launch just for the exclusives.
@FullbringIchigo I’d hate to see people out of a job but I agree, also CEX needs to go under too, disgusting stores, staff and service.
I would think if GAME ever went for good, Amazon would starting getting all the pre-order goodies, which is fine as the company is decent and actually with the times.
On topic, the console looks nice but that controller is an abomination 🤮
I’ve not touched Career Mode in years but I’m wanting to try it out this time with the new added features. It’s all about Online Seasons for me, I don’t even bother with Ultimate Team either. As with other FIFA’s I can’t justify buying this full price on release when I only bother with one mode, will rent then buy at £20 before FIFA 21.
For Xbox and PC owners it’s simple, they should just rent the game or not play it at all, that would make Activision think twice about pulling a stunt like this again but that will never happen as most of the fan base will just be casual players who won’t even care about survival mode.
@s22222 PES also have the Manchester United license as well which I am not happy about since I’ve always preferred Fifa. It’s still strange to see McTominay on the cover alongside Messi 😂
@LiamCroft So are you not a fan of the game then? 😏
Back when it first came out on PC I liked the premise of it and I like how the zombies/infected actually run after you like in World War Z as it adds more tension but that’s it. I tried the timed demo/trial and only found a couple of zombies a couple of minute before my trial ended, the rest I was just wondering about getting bored and hating the survival part of the game where you got to keep eating and drinking, no fun at all. Avoid like the plague... unless it’s free.
Despite not owning a PS4 anymore I am glad I got this when I did, I may own one again some day and would definitely download this again.
I was honestly expecting Sony to give this away for free before it got delisted or at least discount it heavily, I would of got both the bike expansion and it’s dlc. It’s a shame the way the game has been treated after it’s release and now all this delisting carry on, it’s as if it’s had a traumatic birth and now an agonising death.
On Xbox One X the only problems I’ve had is frame rate stutter that only ever happens whenever I unpause the game and getting stuck inside objects such as cardboard boxes but jumping and sprinting usually sorts it out, other than that it runs fine.
I’m almost finished (currently on mission 9) but would of turned the film grain and motion blur off if the option was there on release because it’s used heavily here and makes the game look ugly imo. I don’t think this needed HDR anyway it’s not exactly the most bright and colourful game, it’s usually dark with a lot of dull grey for colour.
@Shigurui That’s one game I’m surprised that never got made BC on Xbox One, would of loved to have seen the original PGR get the X enhanced treatment with its photo-realistic graphics (for its time) before the series went with the cartoonish looks. I agree that PGR4 was the best in the series.
This game is starting to grow on me now after saying I couldn’t get into it in the review comments. I’m playing it on XB1 X and even on that this has frame-rate drops although it lasts only a couple of seconds and rarely happens.
The possessed agents that are levitated throughout the levels, are we supposed to kill them or leave them be? There’s a red cursor when aiming at them but nothing seems to happen if you kill them.
I’ve played a bit of this, only just finished the first mission. You can tell straight off it’s your typical Remedy game and I really liked Alan Wake and Quantum Break but for some reason I just cannot get into this, it could be because it’s late and I’m tired or I may need to progress further before it gets better.
I’ll be giving it another go but if it still doesn’t suck me in like the other Remedy games did then I don’t think I’ll even bother finishing it which would be a shame because this is one game I’ve been really looking forward to.
@LiamCroft What score you give a game isn’t important, it’s the written (typed) review that matters and it’s fine as always but it just seems there’s games that get scored a 7 on here more than any other score and it’s obvious that I’m not the only one who thinks this.
Yet ANOTHER game scoring a 7 🤷🏻♂️ I read through the review and before getting to the score I thought ‘I bet it scored a 7’ and I was right. It’s just getting too predictable when scoring games on this site, it’s almost like your playing it safe rather than giving it a 6 or an 8.
Doom Eternal, Outer Worlds and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in that order for me but Gears 5 would of been my first pick.
I’m surprised most people have voted Death Stranding despite admitting they don’t know much about it, I can see it not living up to the hype it has and just being one of those 7/10 rated games.
I just don’t see how MP would have a place in a game like this, could you imagine The Witcher 3 having MP? No me neither. CDPR just pour your heart and soul in making Cyberpunk 2077 as one of the best solo gaming experience as you can.
I just recently finished the re-release of Doom 3 and that took me close to 14 hours to complete and that was with exploring and collecting collectibles, any longer and I’d of just wanted to get it over with.
I hope the opening level in Eternal has a slow start with everything seeming normal before hell literally breaks loose, just like in Doom 3’s opening level, love openings like that in games.
If neither of the next-gen consoles output 8K then for me there’s going to be no reason to get an 8K tv. It will probably be a blessing in disguise since it will mostly likely be at silly prices for at least a few years.
I think we will see a mid-gen upgrade like we saw with the Pro/X and I reckon we will get 8K output on those upgraded consoles.
I’m expecting the PS5 to reclaim the “most powerful console in the world” title from the XB1X (obviously) but also keep it even when Project Scarlett releases. From what I’ve read from an article when Phil Spencer give an interview, it seems with Project Scarlett they are going to focus mainly on frame rate and load times so you can jump into a game in no time but he also says it’s going to be 4x more powerful than the XB1X.
Until we know the full specs from both consoles, probably some time middle of next year, we can only speculate and put up with rumours but my bet is PS5 will be slightly more powerful but Project Scarlett able to run games better and quicker. I will just be happy if we don’t have to choose either 4K or 60FPS, hopefully we can have games running both this time.
@themcnoisy Those came out after Oblivion, Mass Effect 3 was 2012 and Ultimate Team was first introduced in FIFA 09 whereas Oblivion was in 2006. I’m just curious who first brought MT to games because if it wasn’t for them we’d be seeing games in a totally different way, plus I’m sick to the back teeth of forking out for battle passes on Fortnite that my kid constantly keeps asking for, all thanks to whoever first introduced MTs.
Sorry to be a little off topic here but who and what game started all this micro transaction thing? I can only recall back to when The Elder Scrolls Oblivion had that horse armour thing, that’s the earlier I remember a game having some form of micro transaction.
This is good news but it’s usually the standard these days with big games that support Pro and X. I always favour resolution for 4K over performance for 60fps unless a game like FIFA or Call of Duty. Sometimes there a third option called Visual which adds more details to a game like vegetation, draw distance etc.
Oof! This game could face the full wrath from Zelda fans after the way they reacted towards Genshin Impact. How much more can they take from games taking from inspiration Zelda BoTW?
These are not my kind of games tbh but I may have to get BoTW when I get a Switch this Christmas.
I can’t help but think this game is going to turn out to be a major disappointment, it’s been getting hyped up way too much with such little information and lack of gameplay, we still don’t even know what type of game it is or how it’s going to play. Kojima has been teasing the game for so long it’s getting ridiculous and frankly boring now to the point where I’m not even interested in it anymore.
To me it’s one of those moments where you think “Who do you think you are? Like seriously? Stfu and get a grip of yourself!” I cannot stand people who are so far up their own a***, they always just end up coming across as a right k***head even if they are in the right.
I played through this as it’s on Xbox GamePass and I thought it was a brilliant little game, the levels were fun, though quite tough if your going for the full 3 stars for every level as they get more outrageous with different types of obstacles to overcome. It’s pretty straightforward to Platinum too.
@carlos82 That’s because Obsidian had planned the game to be multi platform before the acquisition and MS has no say because they had no input towards the game at all. If there was ever a sequel I’d be surprised if it was released on anything other than just Xbox and PC.
Just when I thought CoD was again starting to be one of those games where once you’ve played one you’ve played them all but I actually like the look of this and may buy it this time round. Glad the campaign is back as I always play that first before even touching mp.
I cannot wait for this, if this turns out to be a big success and there’s a sequel it’ll be a shame for PlayStation and Nintendo owners since Obsidian is now owned by Microsoft, I suppose anyone without an Xbox could just play on it on PC so there’s that option.
I cannot recall ever agreeing with @LiamCroft on any games he has reviewed but for once in this case I do.
I absolutely loved the other Wolfenstein games from Return to Castle Wolfenstein to The New Colossus but this latest abomination is just that, it just doesn’t play like the other Wolfenstein games where enemies were easily gunned down making the games flow, feel fluid and fast paced. If I want bullet spongy enemies I’ll just play The Division for that, it does not feel right being in Wolfenstein because that’s not what Wolfenstein’s gameplay is about, it never has been.
Also the characters in Youngblood are completely forgettable and really annoying, I just could not relate to any of them at all. The sisters come across as really brassy and immure, I’d rather they were mutes and had no personality at all. I played this mostly in solo but also in co-op and it’s not made much difference for me, if anything it’s sometimes worse if a player is about 10 levels above you as the enemies match their level and suddenly you get slaughtered after a few shots.
It’s definitely playable solo, looking forward to it and love the fact us in the UK will have the proper unedited version with the Swastikas and everything, it will just feel more authentic I reckon.
@Rick_Deckard I’m pretty sure you will need Nintendo’s online service to play co-op since the game will not have split-screen support.
@Danloaded I’m also wanting to know if Young Blood can be played solo, I like exploring and going at my own pace in games, when playing co-op I feel like I have to rush for the other player(s). Also with the game priced at £25 I’m thinking it’s going to be really short and almost just like an add-on for Wolfenstein 2.
Not one positive post about this sale so far, tbh despite me always buying games digitally I’ve been buying pre-owned physical copies lately, usually saving well over £10-£15 over a digital game that’s heavily discounted in a sale. Right now I’m deciding whether to get Project Cars 2 on disc for £6 or buy the Deluxe Edition in an Xbox sale for £18 reduced from £75. I intend to always go back to PC2 now and again and the Deluxe version is only available digitally.
@crazykcarter Not just in Europe but also in the US. Anyone ordering from Amazon during this promotion deal I’d expect delays for your order(s).
For a company that is arguably the biggest and richest in the world, it’s certainly shady that they are in the news constantly for all the wrong reasons due to poor working conditions, getting punished for having time off even when there is a bereavement in the family, needing permission to go to the toilet, there are even concerns for workers health as Amazon seem to be making them run into the ground setting them with ridiculous targets to meet in a short time frame or they are sacked. If I’m ever out of work at least I know where NOT to apply for a job.
I wouldn’t even dare be seen dead wearing those abominations! I’m all for people dressing differently, expressing their own taste and style but come on most people would at least think the person wearing them was an absolute sad t**t but then I suppose some scousers would think the same of me wearing a Man Utd shirt 🤷🏻♂️
I doubt they’ll be many Xbox owners who are bothered by this, JRPGs are probably the least popular genre on the system and Final Fantasy has always been released on PlayStation for decades so it’s no surprise it’s releasing on PS4 and not on XB1, it actually makes sense really.
No The Division 2? I think it deserves a place on the list, it does look pretty amazing at times. Also to make the list a little less predictable, some games should be shuffled around. As pretty as God of War is, is it still really the best looking game on PS4 right now?
I know people will be hyped and excited for the PS5 release but why buy at launch for full price when by the next holiday season it’ll probably have a permanent £50/$60 price cut and come bundled with the latest game that’s out around that time of year. Plus there could be teething problems with the launch console which could be ironed out in the next batch of PS5s. Also there should be a decent amount of games out by that time.
@get2sammyb Quite a few people here who seem anti-United and rubbing salt in the wound with the Liverpool comments, would it be so harsh to give them a temporary holiday away from the site? 😄
I like the player models in the recent PES games, they just look more realistic and life-like compared to FIFA but that’s all it’s got going for it for me, still prefer FIFA always have done even before PES existed.

Right now I’m deciding whether to get Project Cars 2 on disc for £6 or buy the Deluxe Edition in an Xbox sale for £18 reduced from £75. I intend to always go back to PC2 now and again and the Deluxe version is only available digitally.
Re: Guide: Amazon Prime Day Sale - All Deals on PS4 Games, Consoles, PSVR, and More
@crazykcarter Not just in Europe but also in the US.
Re: Random: Embarrass Your Friends with These PlayStation Branded Shirts
I wouldn’t even dare be seen dead wearing those abominations! I’m all for people dressing differently, expressing their own taste and style but come on most people would at least think the person wearing them was an absolute sad t**t but then I suppose some scousers would think the same of me wearing a Man Utd shirt 🤷🏻♂️
Re: Xbox Germany Cocks Up By 'Announcing' Final Fantasy VII Remake for Xbox One
I doubt they’ll be many Xbox owners who are bothered by this, JRPGs are probably the least popular genre on the system and Final Fantasy has always been released on PlayStation for decades so it’s no surprise it’s releasing on PS4 and not on XB1, it actually makes sense really.
Re: Guide: Best PS4 Graphics
No The Division 2? I think it deserves a place on the list, it does look pretty amazing at times. Also to make the list a little less predictable, some games should be shuffled around. As pretty as God of War is, is it still really the best looking game on PS4 right now?
Re: Guide: How Much Will the PS5 Cost?
I know people will be hyped and excited for the PS5 release but why buy at launch for full price when by the next holiday season it’ll probably have a permanent £50/$60 price cut and come bundled with the latest game that’s out around that time of year. Plus there could be teething problems with the launch console which could be ironed out in the next batch of PS5s. Also there should be a decent amount of games out by that time.
Re: Europa League Giants Manchester United Sign with PES 2020
@get2sammyb Quite a few people here who seem anti-United and rubbing salt in the wound with the Liverpool comments, would it be so harsh to give them a temporary holiday away from the site? 😄
I like the player models in the recent PES games, they just look more realistic and life-like compared to FIFA but that’s all it’s got going for it for me, still prefer FIFA always have done even before PES existed.
