For some reason this Harley Quinn looks weird. Previous designs never gave me this feeling. Maybe it's the size of face compared to neck. I feel it looks much rounder maybe?
Edit: Wouldn't affect whether I buy it but yeah. Just looks weird for some reason.
I don't care about having too many games restricted to PS5. PS5 still plays them better than PS4, even if slightly. The proper ps5 games will come eventually when it is financially feasible.
Also not such a big deal to have more Playstation exclusives in the short term. They already gave Ratchet, Returnal, Miles Morales and Demons Souls. There is a gluttony of third party games coming out that will leverage PS5 for better performances.
If you want constant new quality games, you need to have more than one gaming platform.
Edit: I do think they need to work on their communication though.
Wrapping up platinums for ps4 games such as Jedi Fallen Order and Control using the faster ps5. Will prob keep clearing backlog. Between Tales of Arise, Lost Judgement, Witcher 3 upgrade (prob before netflix season 2), Dying Light 2, Elden Ring and Horizon FW, there probably won't be much time for backlog in the coming months lol.
Does anyone know if the character story dlc on the ultimate edition comes on day 1 or if it comes at a later stage? I don't care if I pay more for it separately if it comes at a later stage. But I like to pay for things I can use on the spot haha.
There's enough third party games coming out on ps5 until Horizon FW unleashes. If ever there was a time to not release exclusives, it would be now. Even the PS4 had barren periods.
I'm just taking a break from games ahead of what looks to be a great list of upcoming games. Lost Judgement, Takes of Arise, Far Cry 6, Dying Light 2, etc.
I am assuming devs are paid the same rates for free upgrades? Since there is often a heck of a lot of code tweaks for even small upgrades, not to mention bugs. Either way I'm fine with whichever way works best for the Devs that make the games both in short term and long term.
There's enough third party games until Jan (including Elden Ring) These consoles are meant for third party games as well. If you are looking for games to buy and cannot find any... might as well save the money and get another gaming platform with games to fill the gap. The PC-PS5 combo is a winner in my book. PS5 for exclusives. PC for gamepass.
Edit: Switch if you can afford that as well for portability ofc.
I think they are mismanaged but if successful with their launch will attempt to pass this off as a deliberate comic trolling attempt... Only chance their marketing gets redeemed in my eyes is if they produce something amazing or it is somehow linked to Kojima. Problem is I plan how I play my games in advance so they not getting my money any time soon if they are releasing their game in short term.
Japan's handheld culture is simply impregnable atm to TV-specific consoles. Japanese commuters also have it relatively safe when gaming while using public transport. In many other countries that play-on-way-to-work- is too much of a risk lol. I would much rather drive to work but in Japan, would probably consider public transport.
Better background music. Less annoying voices (at least it was to me). I used Spotify music app instead of listening to the character voices or the background music.
In the event, that this is just them trolling... I'll not be impressed. I like my gaming news straight and punctual with trailers attached. There are tons of games out there and therefore I like to know when I'm playing something so I can plan my life around it lol.
@ViolentEntity yeah the value for me in gamepass is how it well it allies to my playstation. The likes of Demons Souls, Ratchet, etc as well as upcoming games like Zero Dawn, GOW2 get the honour of been on my shelf when they come. Meanwhile gamepass and third party games that aren't on gamepass plug the gap between.
Their fear with GTA 6 would be that it would split their online players between two games probably which increases the chances of either online version having dwindling player populations. Maybe even both. When they have a definite multiplayer version of GTA 6 that will promise to maintain and overtake GTA V online popularity, that is when they will announce GTA 6. Could be wrong, I dunno. They may also be waiting for more people to have next gen consoles so that GTA 6 online has a good playerbase from the get go.
I think playstation owners will switch to third party games for now and when Sony hits their next rich vein of exclusives, they will be back on top. I think this will occur after the likes of Elden ring, Far Cry 6 and Dying Light 2. Also could be wrong but don't Xbox and playstation games have more third party competition than switch? Which would explain why switch exclusives stay on top and the other exclusives do not. I mean I rarely play third party games on switch. May not be the case for others though, I dunno.
@Nepp67 Haha I think you make a good point. Yeah I guess there are people who think we waste time playing games. Honestly it takes a mature person to respect other people's hobbies (provided they aren't the perverse type) I think the problem is people bucket all anime watchers into one bucket which is immature really. People often bucket gamers the same way.
This will likely lead to more efficient marketing for their anime-based games like demon slayer. It also gives them more traction when anime creators want to create games or when game creators want to make anime (because Playstation would be able to market it best via crunchyroll and playstation platforms) Remains to be seen whether Sony will influence anime for better or worse though.
Can't really vote as I don't play live service games, unless mmo counts which I play very rarely. Interested to know how many people actually play live service games. I like to buy a game, finish it, put it on the shelf and play the next game with new world, story and characters.
Negative sentiment is always going to affect things like this via social media. Im not saying there won't be people who won't like these games. But how did Sony not anticipate the effect of sentiment towards their latest PS Plus offering. Honestly I largely pay for ps plus to play online. But clearly a lot people expect games as well.
Started FFXIV just to explore the hype. I'm not too fussed about end game as much as exploring the world. I feel World of Warcraft has better starting quests and navigation to quests is easier. But will keep at it.
Other than that wrapping up trophies for Nioh 2 or Borderlands 3. Not sure why Nioh 2 carried my trophies over to ps5 upgrade but Borderlands 3 could not.
If it comes this year it could be shortly before Elden Ring which would affect my commitment as Im playing Elden Ring day 1 lol. Chances are I would pause progress which would be annoying as I may forget stuff.
I think lost judgement, ghost dlc, Dying light 2, Far Cry 6, Takes of Arise, etc are enough to make use of playstations until the next exclusive.
I would rather get the playstation exclusives when third party runs dry since playstation is meant to play third party games too.
Themes and folders next please haha. Might sound harsh but I have a feeling PlayStation's OS development methodology does not scale well across generations which means they start from scratch. Xbox seems better imo at that. But yeah, not too fussed so long as the games keep coming.
Most of Sony acquisitions are not really taking from Xbox gamers. Only one party is using an acquisition method that threatens to create an almost absolute monopoly. Sony only had a monopoly with PS4 because Xbox did little with their IPs.
Edit: Won't affect those like me with multiple systems. Honestly I think serious gamers will need a combination of a playstation and a PC.
Not in the mood for a new game. Going for Metro Exodus platinum on new game plus. Halfway through now. Really want another Metro game but would prefer less open world elements. May also wrap up trophies on Nioh 2 which feels way smoother on PS5.
The problem with Director's Cuts is that it can stifle innovation. If there are a few, maybe it's fine. E.g. one for Bloodborne would be awesome. But if it becomes a major trend, we could end up with a big % of games that are either remasters, remakes or directors cuts. Even these revised versions require a lot of Dev resources.
Is it the future? Probably. Do I want it to be? Nah. Inevitably any financial success with a free to play in one genre will creep into another. But I guess if there's demand for it, so be it. Hopefully there's a healthy balance of paid for games and "free" (lol) to play games for years to come.
I enjoyed this so much. The story was kept simple as appropriate for this kind of setting. Character side quests gave memorable characters. The gameplay was not super challenging but was still engaging. The exploration of environment for powerups was great. The sound was stimulating. Oh and photo mode was fun. Certainly a top 5 PS4 game for me.
Sony doesn't really need to join these events. Most people buy a console and spend significant time on third party games in addition to exclusives. The number of exclusives is more of a fanboy thingy truth be told. Sure, PS4 spoiled with exclusives and I'm sure PS5 will have more great games eventually. Just play the upcoming Far Cry 6,Judgement, Dying Light 2, etc while waiting. Most gamers also don't really follow these events. They look at the online store or their local retailers. Sony will be fine. As will the other console makers.
I can wait. PlayStation has spoiled with its games recently. Third party games like Lost Judgement, Far Cry 6, Dying Light 2 will provide a nice cushion until Elden Ring. There also seems some decent indie games as well as Deathloop that could succeed. By then I think we will start getting a better roadmap of new games for PS5.
I guess this will be a problem for those still looking for a PS5 as they will have to make calculated decisions on whether to buy PS4 versions of games or wait to get PS5.
Hmmm I imagine there will be a lot of bugs to iron out. May take a few annual iterations to get this right. But the potential on this and other gameplay elements (If used well) is quite big.

Great for when I replay in preparation for sequel

How are the combos looking? Getting those long combos on bosses was one of my favourite aspects of previous games.

Wrapping Borderlands 3 dlc on PS5. Maybe some FFXIV (because apparently story is great) and also Control dlc perhaps.
