GTA 5 PS5 PlayStation 5 1

It originally released on the PlayStation 3 and was later ported to the PS4, so given its impressive age you’d probably expect Grand Theft Auto 5 to run at 60 frames-per-second in 4K on the PS5 – but here’s our first hint at the fact. A post about upcoming releases on the German PS Blog – there’s no mention of Horizon Forbidden West, for the record – alludes to the Los Santos skyline “shining in crisp 4K resolution thanks to the bold graphics update” and “extreme smoothness thanks to 60 frames-per-second”.

It’s unclear whether the PS Blog is privy to inside information or is merely making assumptions here, but it’s a reasonable expectation, isn’t it? Assuming it’s accurate, it’ll be the first – to our knowledge – GTA game to run at 60 frames-per-second on console, although GTA 5 can already be played at a higher frame rate on PC, of course. The Expanded & Enhanced re-release is due out on 11th November, and Rockstar has yet to say a single word about it. In the meantime, if you’re looking to get into the title’s multiplayer mode, then check out our GTA Online guide.
