Perhaps Imsoniac would be first choice if they didn't have their plate full already. Jerdi Fallen Order was one of my favourite last gen games so I can believe that EA can deliver a solid Iron Man. But let's see.
I found it pretty good. I was expecting a fresher iteration of Nioh 2 and got pretty much that. Nioh 2 released more than 2 years ago and so I don't see it as as repetive game especially seeing as there are new mechanics added.
I only play these games subbed but I reckon dubbed can be a good accessibility feature for some disabilities. I'm not the developer though so not up to me haha.
Eh... Honestly I don't follow gaming events from any platform anymore. When I wake up, I just read about the highlights on pushsquare and their sister sites for the various platforms.
The worst part of a Yakuza game is when you complete the game 100% and you just stare sadly at the PlayStation store/Steam or your backlog and everything just seems to not be Yakuza enough.
A lot of live adaptions of games tend to fail to replicate the atmosphere that the video game player experiences. I think animation style movies more easily replicate that atmosphere. I feel that is what is what made Arcane such a good video game adaption.
Fromsoft is good at nailing "show, don't tell" when it comes to huge parts of their lore. Where a lot of inspired souls-likes go wrong imo is in attempting to replicate the combat but not nailing the environmental story telling and atmosphere. Hoping this one manages that or at least puts on a stamp on its own narrative identity.
Kojima is true to his imagination irrespective of whether anyone likes his games or not. At least you know you will get something interesting with him. He directs with his emotions and lots of gamers connect to that.
It's an awesome game. One of the best of 2022 along with Elden Ring. Simple as that. Feels like games these days are getting the fan loyalty fanatism found in the EPL.
Gotta say been an early gen adopter must be quite stressful these days for those who stick to one platform. Given the likelihood of more acquisitions, you could buy a specific console because it met your genre preferences in the previous gen and then suddenly another console becomes the home for it. Those of my friends without new gen consoles are undecided. I'm guessing between pc and console I'm safe. But who knows.
Tbf they have delivered more high quality games (quality over quantity) than most platforms since the launch of PS5. I think this "slump" was inevitable. As the article says, this is going back down to earth. I think the PS5 has certainly given me a magnificent first couple years instead of just collecting dust. How they address the single player/live service balance going forward will be crucial.
Well this was one I was looking forward to. Hopefully they turn it around. I'm very curious as to what exactly went wrong or perhaps it was simply related to not meeting deliverable deadlines.
Lots of people were gonna buy Horizon FW with every iteration of ps5 stock regardless of the bundle. The bundle just means more people have it physical than digital. Most of my friends waited for a PS5 before buying the game as they are collectors like me and like having ps5 game covers on the shelf. It's also effective marketing to get new customers to immediately buy into their first party games with their console purchase.
Listen. I'm trying to get over the cuteness of this game. Stop posting articles about it! Also my cat seems to see this virtual cat as a rival or something...
I wonder how much of their team was used for this. Ideally I would have preferred a new single player game to be focused on by as much of their team as possible.
@Cutmastavictory Most of my friends only have a Playstation. Trust me, they will give me enough grief if I were to buy a new persona or Yakuza on pc which they can't play on PS. Friends over games!
Honestly I don't care about who started this practice. This is more about the role PS fans played in Yakuza, Persona, etc and it seems Sega is starting to screw them over slowly but surely starting with that late release of Yakuza 7 for ps5. I have a feeling I'll be relying on pc for their day 1 releases eventually.
Hopefully it doesn't have a weird current gen exclusivity deal in place... I would have to shut my mouth to avoid spoilers until my ps5 only friends can play a current gen version.
Can they at least not release Hogwarts Legacy too close haha. At least push to December please! Otherwise I might end up with another Horizon/Elden Ring war (for my time).
Looks like it could be decent game. I do wish it was a game where you built your own crew of nakama in the one piece world and made a name for yourself and where you eventually meet Luffy and unite to take on an enemy crew to save your childhood country or something.
@SamMR yeah but I feel like with a bit more effort they have the library to get some more of those demographic back. That being said, I do prefer the God of Wars and Ghost of Tsushimas so all good with me
Nah this sucks. I hate ending up in a UCL group with weirdly named teams. What are they going to call Inter Milan in career mode?? Give me a damn game where I can play against all teams please.
Am I the only one struggling to stay afloat a massive backlog of quality games? This just means I can clear more of my backlog. I've barely had a break yet from my adventures in the Forbidden West and The Lands Between.
I enjoyed the game but I would prefer they return to the level design of previous games. Maybe a compromise of sorts between the open world nature of Elden Ring and the tight level design of previous games will be awesome. The other issue to me is that due to the amount of content in the world, I felt overpowered by endgame. Granted, you don't have to try and explore everywhere but can be hard to ignore things. Still probably my goty but not on my podium of fromsoft games.

Re: Interview: Moonscars Is a Souls-Like by the Fans, for the Fans
Just call it a metroidvania please... "Souls-like" is starting to look painful to my eyes lol. And I loved Elden Ring...

Re: Ghost of Tsushima Paved the Way West for Like a Dragon: Ishin!, Says Dev
Well in that case, thank you Suckerpunch lol. This will be a good appetiser ahead of the later Yakuza games.
Edit: Sorry. I'm forever calling these games Yakuza.
Re: Atlus Wants to Sell You Another Persona 5 Royal Collector's Edition, This Time on PS5
@rvd4 Yep. I hope Persona 5's success did not get to their head too much.
Re: Atlus Wants to Sell You Another Persona 5 Royal Collector's Edition, This Time on PS5
I love the game but I ain't buying it a third time.
Re: Like a Dragon Gaiden Is a Smaller Action Game Starring Kiryu in 2023
I wonder if the launch of this dictates the eventual launch of Like a Dragon 8. Always happy with more Yakuza lol.
Edit: saw the article for like a dragon 8 in 2024 now
Re: Judgment, Lost Judgment Rated for PC, Could Be a Good Sign for Series' Future
So long as the franchise continues, I couldn't be happier. The amount of entertainment these devs have given me over the years is incredible.

Re: NieR: Automata's Mysterious Church Ended Up Being the Work of Modders After All

Edit: I know Yoko Taro implied that he won't unless he gets a big lump of money lol.

Why do I get barbie doll vibes from this character art style... Gameplay does seem solid though.
