Re: Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Demo Out Now on PS5

I found it pretty good. I was expecting a fresher iteration of Nioh 2 and got pretty much that. Nioh 2 released more than 2 years ago and so I don't see it as as repetive game especially seeing as there are new mechanics added.

Re: Sony Sounds Shook by Xbox's Activision Buyout, Says Call of Duty Has No Rival

Gotta say been an early gen adopter must be quite stressful these days for those who stick to one platform. Given the likelihood of more acquisitions, you could buy a specific console because it met your genre preferences in the previous gen and then suddenly another console becomes the home for it. Those of my friends without new gen consoles are undecided. I'm guessing between pc and console I'm safe. But who knows.

Re: Sony to Take Action as PS5, PS4 Owners Play Less Than Anticipated

Tbf they have delivered more high quality games (quality over quantity) than most platforms since the launch of PS5. I think this "slump" was inevitable. As the article says, this is going back down to earth. I think the PS5 has certainly given me a magnificent first couple years instead of just collecting dust. How they address the single player/live service balance going forward will be crucial.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Horizon Forbidden West Soars Back to the Top

Lots of people were gonna buy Horizon FW with every iteration of ps5 stock regardless of the bundle. The bundle just means more people have it physical than digital. Most of my friends waited for a PS5 before buying the game as they are collectors like me and like having ps5 game covers on the shelf. It's also effective marketing to get new customers to immediately buy into their first party games with their console purchase.

Re: Soapbox: I Tried So Hard to Like Elden Ring, But I Just Couldn’t Do It

I enjoyed the game but I would prefer they return to the level design of previous games. Maybe a compromise of sorts between the open world nature of Elden Ring and the tight level design of previous games will be awesome. The other issue to me is that due to the amount of content in the world, I felt overpowered by endgame. Granted, you don't have to try and explore everywhere but can be hard to ignore things. Still probably my goty but not on my podium of fromsoft games.
