@Apfelschteiner fair enough. I also enjoy some of those. Usually movies though (which are shorter) or games with very strong gameplay. I guess I will see whether it has any redeeming qualities from my perspective when this game releases.

Horizon FW, Elden Ring and a bit of GT7.

Is the cringy dialogue deliberate? Don't people like get paid to write this for a living? Why are so many game writers terrible? I know kids that could write better dialogue than this and they don't do it for a living but as a hobby! Happy if they end up accomplishing a great story and dialogue but so far looks terrible and I will be avoiding for now even if the combat looks decent.

I wonder if the GRR Martin part drew in fans of the books/TV series. I'm quite surprised at eldens rings performance. I also wonder how many people knew what they were in for and are not rage quitting haha. Although I've found this game much easier than previous Fromsoft games. Playing Elden Ring and Horizon at same time is really making this perhaps my favourite gaming month in recent memory and I added GT7 on top of that.

I don't see why they can't make new games or remakes for Sly Cooper and Jax (and Daxter) amongst others. These kinda protagonista do so well for Nintendo.

@MattBoothDev thanks for the info. Always assumed they had a massive internal team that handled that.

I guess they just don't have the same talent pool as Microsoft who are involved in numerous frontend and backend solutions for business users. Not sure how the storefront worked across various consoles for Nintendo as I only got a switch quite late into the gen. Smart delivery (awesome btw) is arguably business as usual for a company that does as many front end and backend solutions as Microsoft does. Just conjecture on my end ofc. I'm not a specialist at this stuff.

I knew it would not have blockbuster announcements. Sony's biggest announcements tend to be somewhat random these days. Probably a tactic to keep their competition guessing and it clearly works for most, given the selling rate of the console. I'm not worried about what's in their first party pipeline. Between upcoming third party and already released first party games, there is plenty to play. As a publisher, Sony is performing relatively well. If the data indicates most of their customer base is unhappy, they will make changes in their strategy.

Perhaps ideal for a sudden emergency while you almost got the boss beaten. Haven't had a need yet though.

There's already too many games to play this year. New announcements at a state of play will just make it harder to decide what to play. Lol.

Personally Bloodborne was their best. Elden Ring is more ambitious both mechanically and content-wise but I preferred the tighter Bloodborne experience. But I can see why others would rate it the publisher's best.

So they are trying to make a FIFA for Cars basically. Do they have enough of a car fanatic gaming customer base to do what FIFA can though?

I don't think Square quite know how to manage the development of live service games. I think their mentality is just...wrong and possibly stems from the same attitude that dismisses the likes of Hitman, Guardians of the Galaxy and Tomb Raider reboot as failures.

If they ever do add an additional difficulty, maybe just make sure I can't switch difficulties afterwards if I choose to start with the hardest difficulty lol.

Edit: Could make some tougher bosses tempting to turn down difficulty.

I have no idea how far am I am but most of my time has been exploring with minimal boss slaying.

I see a lot of new content migrated to crunchyroll is dubbed only. I hope they will support dubbed and subbed. I would literally cancel if they have too many dubbed only. But I'm just one customer lol.

Hmmm I guess he gave them a lore background to work with but the lore seems pretty much Miyazaki-style so maybe he was just a consultant.

Some people seem to support games like EPL teams. I'm juggling both games and enjoying tremendously. This is arguably one of the best months ever in gaming.

This doesn't feel like the best Fromsoft game personally as I felt more intimidation and awe in the tighter levels of previous games. But still a 9/10 in my books.

Playing Elden Ring and Horizon FW. Eventually I'll probably focus on Horizon FW and then maybe start a new character in Elden Ring afterwards.

@Medic_Alert yeah have seem fan boys get annoyed when exclusives don't get goty. Oh well.

Edit: not implying fan boys in this context as I'm not a mind reader. Still think it is a case of some seeing 10/10 as a bit too high.

@Medic_Alert I think it may have to do with the 10/10 for Elder Ring that some people don't support. In the case of Horizon, it has not been reviewed as a 10/10 in my experience. Could be wrong there. Personally I'm just glad to see two stellar games in quick succession and couldn't be bothered by which one is a true goty contender.

Heh my some of my friends spend more time in photo mode than anything else. Makes sense I guess.

I see ps plus as a way to pay for a cloud based service that is much harder to maintain when you don't have Microsoft-level development tech resources. Sony don't have the resources that say, Microsoft and Amazon do, as these two can simply tap into world class engineering teams that makes a killing from AWS and Azure (and hence bigger and experienced teams)

Great review. Pre-ordered now. I was expecting those frame rate and pop in issues since they always have optimisation issues and this is much more ambitious. Honestly I take these issues in my stride like Elder Scrolls glitches lol.

Geez their expectations must be absurd for many of their single player games. This is basically just a way of saying they want mobile revenue from their single player games. Why cant they have both high, medium and low revenue games?

Honestly Movie reviewers can be useless at times. Gaming reviews like on this site require a certain level of dedication and passion that is felt in the content. Movie reviewers however are hit or miss.

@ShogunRok please refrain from distracting me from Horizon and Elden Ring with comments about Persona. All games deserve their time in the sun.

Great to see! This game is a fantastic second iteration of an already stellar game.

Is there any reason to NOT have a dragon's dogma 2? Hopefully it still gets announced.

Basically it is a game I won't be playing anytime soon given newly released and upcoming games lol.

This is most certainly more a result of saltiness than an attempt at trolling. This nonsense can be the bane of smaller devs. Fortunately Guerilla will get through this as they simply ooze class.

Dark Souls 1 is still more fun for me than many newer games. These games have never really been about the cutting edge in graphics. It's the other stuff that lures us into these ominous worlds.

Horizon FW, GT7, and Forspoken (and Ghostwire somewhat) on top of already released first party games gives them a definite edge for new games atm when compared to competition. Third party games can then bridge the gap until GOW, etc. Would rather they polish GOW as much as possible. I don't think they are under pressure on the game front.

@Broosh hmmm sounds like my issue with Tales of Arise as well. This was the only ps4 disk I bought for ps5 and my console kept wanting to download the PS4 version until I finished the game and uninstalled. I'm guessing this means I should not get PS4 disk versions with upgrades. Kinda silly, that.

@Apfelschteiner The store allows people to get any game. Physical is less reliable for older consoles. I actually gave some of my PS3 games to someone who bought a PS3 for her grandchild. Fortunately I can give them pretty much any decent PS3 game from my PS3 cabinet since I don't play much of those.

The only problem I see here are for example parents with less disposable income getting a PS3 as a toy for their kids. Hopefully enough awareness goes out to make sure this group does not buy some shiny looking PS3 in a second hand store. Unless it comes with games or something.

Nope not ready for Night City. Too much on the...horizon... Maybe in a few months lol.

Honestly I want to see good chunky dlc mostly. I feel the base game didn't tap into the world's full potential.

Leave me alone. Horizon FW is making it hard to work. Don't bring Elden Ring into it too! Anyways, I'm hoping that bows will be viable.
