Last year, WB Games announced a duo of DC video games — Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Gotham Knights. Revealed during DC Fandome, there's been silence on both games ever since, but it appears that they're ready for another showing. The pair of titles have been confirmed as part of the lineup for DC Fandome 2021.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the new game from Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind the Batman Arkham series. All we've seen of it so far is a cinematic trailer setting up the premise; you'll be playing as the titular band of villains as they're forced to take down iconic heroes like Superman (or die trying). Interestingly, Suicide Squad is part of the Arkham canon, while Gotham Knights is not.
Speaking of Gotham Knights, it's a solo or co-op action game from WB Games Montréal, the team that previously made Batman: Arkham Origins. You'll play as the likes of Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood as they team up to take on new threats. The game was initially planned for release this year, but was delayed to 2022.
It'll be good to get an update on both of these games, as they both have a lot of potential. Let's hope they show well at DC Fandome, which takes place on 16th October. Are you excited to see these games? Tell us in the comments section below.

Wasn’t too keen on Gotham Knights. Looks like a game made for co-op that can be played solo, which rarely works out great.
Hopefully Suicide Squad plays different.
For some reason this Harley Quinn looks weird. Previous designs never gave me this feeling. Maybe it's the size of face compared to neck. I feel it looks much rounder maybe?
Edit: Wouldn't affect whether I buy it but yeah. Just looks weird for some reason.
Gotham Knights looked ok last we saw it so I will tune in. Should at the very least be a fun co-op game with a buddy. Didn't like what it sounded like Suicide Squad was going for from interviews but maybe some actual gameplay will change my mind.
Suicide Squad being a current-gen only release interests me much more. Really looking forward to see what Rocksteady have
Cool, huge Batman and it's universe
fan so looking forward to these games.
Glad to see that they included Tim Drake and not Damian for once.
I usually like to play as the good guy, so I’m not sure Suicide Squad will set well with me.
@CynicalGamer We know what we want, and it's thicc Harley!
@PlayNation5 I don't necessarily find the character design bad. It just looks different so would take getting used to haha.
Hmm, I'm sorry, but "Suicide Squad" looks like a game nobody asked for. I don't know how the comics are received (well enough, obviously), but in my eyes the self-aware, super weird over-the-top coolness is pretty overdone by now. And even if not, this seems too niche for the mass market. Didn't the new movie also tank pretty hard, despite mostly favorable reviews?
But maybe Rocksteady could change that with a probably very polished and fun game.
The beat'em up fan in me looks a little more forward to "Gotham Knights" even though I hate service-games and expect this to be the overall lesser game. But I just want to punch and kick hundreds of goons with Batgirl.
Anyway, pretty interested to see more gameplay of both games.
Am so pumped for these. You know Rocksteady and Gotham Kights looks mint. I would also like them to show Injustice 3 and a LOTR 3 game. Plus the movie trailers. Yes, am huge DC fan 😁
@Migoshuro : Don't be sorry. You're speaking the truth. I just wanted Rocksteady to make a Superman game, with Lois, the Daily Planet, and Lex Luthor. But like Marvel, they're trying to connect the comics ( the quality of which has dipped dramatically) to the movies to the games to other branding opportunities. It's already gotten old for me.
Ehhhh, I worry about the live-service nature of these. Hopefully they turn around alright.
@CynicalGamer maybe she has a thyroid problem..gotham knights looks pretty good but then origins looked good untill it started playing..not crap just not as good as the others..
What really interests me is how can rocksteady survive for almost 7 years without releasing a game?
And I really can't wait to play their new game but it seems it will take more time, which is sad after this long wait.
@Th3solution You’ll be doing good guy stuff though. This doesn’t look like a real “bad guy” game at all honestly. I’d love some more games like that to be honest though.
@Northern_munkey Well that got dark hey! As to graphics, yeah you are right about Origins. I tend to assume some disparity between trailers, etc and the final product.
Hoping it's an actual gameplay trailer for the Suicide Squad game. Not another cinematic please.
@Migoshuro Well to be fair, the new Suicide Squad generally has poor box office earnings because of the pandemic, and the fact that it's also available on HBO Max, which I'm sure most people watched it on.
As for the game, I see what you mean, but I kinda like the self aware humor, albeit to an extent, and the game itself looks good. But I also have smaller concerns for the game.
Suicide Squad is one of the few future releases im actually excited for.
@Migoshuro Suicide Squad isn’t the same movie from a while back?! Yeah I really keep up with that stuff. Gotham always appealing regardless, as a place could drop the suicide squad in there I might not “bat” an eyelid
whats wrong with my baby's face ? chubby quinn
@Jaz007 Ok, I’ll try to keep an open mind. Recently watched the new SS movie and I think my feelings on the game are tainted from that.
I'm honestly not very excited for either of these.
The fact gotham knights isn't arkham canon is bizarre.
Rocksteady picking suicide squad of all things seems like such a waste.
All in all, superhero games based on more than one or two heroes tends to dilute efforts and be bad.
@BorntobeGeek75 @RawnDawn Also super excited for both the games and DC Fandome, big DC Comics fan!
@Nem Gotham Knights isn't Arkham canon because it's being made by Warner Bros Montreal (Origins dev), not Rocksteady (Asylum, City, and Knight dev).
@RawnDawn "Glad to see that they included Tim Drake and not Damian for once."
I don't get why people keep saying this like Damian is in everything, but Tim isn't. This will be like the 5 or 6th appearance of Tim in a video game form.
