Those animations are just incredible. It's perfect and I love it! The real question is, can we outfit both Peter and Miles in the matching Spider-Verse suits for the sections where they're both together?

Really glad to hear Sony's commitment to this, I know a few people with eyesight conditions that can sometimes struggle to play games, and this kind of stuff really does make a huge difference to them.

I’m very much adopting a “wait and see” approach for this game as I can imagine quite a bit changing in its first year on sale. I really hope they have a successful launch though, I’d hate for the devs to go through so much only to have a flop on their hands.

Played this on PC a while back and really enjoyed the first episode, but they do kinda drop off after that. If you see it cheap enough I'd say it's worth it for that first one alone, but very fair review overall.

Directors Cut DLC ahoy!

Holy moly. This is the launch title I'm getting and I could not be more excited. It looks stunning. The lighting effect when the first boss was defeated made me audibly go "oooooooh..."

It looks absolutely charming in the way that a good Nintendo platformer does. Can't wait to give it a spin.

Great start to PS5 if you ask me. Astro included and Bugsnax with PS Plus? Lovely. Definitely grabbing Hollow Knight as well, got it on Switch but will definitely take a PS5 version with haptic feedback enhancements! Plus there's loads of games on the PS Plus Collection that I'll be taking for a spin. So Demon's Souls if the only game I'll actually be buying outright at launch.

Woop! Will be downloading this on day one for sure. Can't wait.

Hope it turns out good - it would be such a shame for the developers to go through such well-publicized stress and pressure only to have no result at the end of it. As far as my understanding of submission goes, I'm pretty sure that the build would have to be approved and tested before going to manufacture as that whole process is managed by Sony and MS respectively. Might be wrong but pretty sure that's how it works.

As an attach rate, that's not a million miles off 50% of PS users picking up the premium sub. That's very impressive. I'd love to know how Game Pass fares by comparison.

Tales of Vesperia for £8.99 is amazing though, I think I'll be grabbing that as I've been wanting it for a while.

Good to see that the excitement and demand is there, but yeah it’s not all that surprising. Covid is bound to have increased demand as well. Bizarrely enough I wasn’t planning to preorder originally but just kinda got lucky with GAME when they put a few cancelled bundles back online.

1440p is important because lots of people like to game on monitors, and having 4k on a monitor of that size is largely pointless. Lower resolution and high frame rate is the way to go on those kinds of displays - which in the influencer/streaming world we live in are now becoming more popular for consoles. Not everyone plays on their main TV in the living room and it would be great for Sony to support that. You'd think it wouldn't be too hard to do, so fingers crossed.

It doesn't affect me - I play on my main TV for the most part and I'm not particularly fussed about 120fps personally, but I can totally get why it would be a priority for other people.

I've been toying with getting started with this series for ages and knowing it's got a satisfying ending to this main arc is really good to know. Might be time to get stuck in!

The Last of Us 1 and 2 are up there with my favourite games of all time, and definitely have their horror moments, but if I was choosing out-and-out horror games for a horror fan the winners would be Resi 7, Resi 2, Bloodborne, Until Dawn and PT.

Very intrigued to see if I could get PT on my PS5 this way! Still got it on my PS4 and want to sell it but if there's a way of transferring it over I'd really like to do it.

@Woogy I'm no fan of influencers and agree people need to think for themselves, but "steal a living" is a bit much. Some of them work incredibly hard to get to where they are.

I'm sure there will be some good options eventually, but the 3D renders of these (as opposed to physical photos) and awful eye for design with the matching backgrounds make me think this probably isn't the company to go for. Will wait and see. Would rather pay a slight premium for a well made and finished replacement.

@deathaxe Tried to Google quickly but no luck. I expect they're both pretty awful but Amazon seems to be in the news for avoidance much more. Basically, they're both pretty evil.

I really hope they give Nolan a cameo of some kind, that would be really cool. He may be a young Drake but Holland is nailing the look too as far as I'm concerened. Feeling a lot more optimistic now!

Great to have the option, looking forward to trying them out and seeing the differences! Eventually anyway, it's probably one of those games where I'll be waiting for a discount though.

But yeah this was awesome, and very wholesome. Loving the marketing and stuff for this game so far. The old school spidey pointing bit towards the end was hilarious. Insomniac just get Spider-Man, they've nailed the tone so perfectly.

I wonder what the PS5's first PS Plus games will be? I remember Resogun being a great bonus when starting up with PS4 back in the day so it'll be interesting to see what the equivalent is.

@Kidfried Yeah I was a bit unsure about the looks at first too but it's grown on me. Do wish the square/triangle/circle/x buttons kept their colour scheme as well rather than being all monotone, but oh well. Like you say it's what it can do that gets me excited. One of my biggest disappointments with the Switch has been that so few developers have really used the HD rumble so I'm hoping that haptics really take off with PS5.

@Medic_Alert Yeah, absolutely. I love the look of the new Shock Blue Xbox controller, but it is a shame that there's nothing really new there.

Also much prefer the look of the Series S, personally. I agree it's all very samey so far. Good, don't get me wrong - and exceptional value with Game Pass - but still samey. There's games down the line I'm excited for like Fable and Hellblade, so I expect that eventually I'll pick up a Series S.

But at launch, there's not much to get my blood pumping.

New controllers can be such an exciting thing to get hold of. Remember being so excited when I finally got to hold the Dreamcast controllers, Wiimotes and Joy Con for the first time in particular. Really looking forward to DualSense, the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers together just seem like such a cool new change, can't wait to try it out with Astro Bot particularly.

@fluggy Agreed. I fully expect a new app to launch, to be honest. That's my hunch anyway.

As for the store stuff, I wish people would bear in mind that the people working on this stuff aren't idiots...the amount of work, thought and preparation that goes into something like this is no small matter. There's a lot of reasons for making the choices they have and most web designers would say the same.

This is going to be a priority game for me when my PS5 arrives. Can't wait.

10/10, finally got a full house!

Still tempted to pick up Avengers when it's much cheaper just to go through the singleplayer campaign. It's a tough one and I feel for them, because the idea of a live service Avengers game is actually pretty cool. But the finished product just didn't quite hit the right notes, and the poor technical performance of the beta on my base PS4 didn't help.

Love the way the soundtrack incorporates hip hop elements. Really excited to finally play this.

Personally I'm really loving the overall speed and instant resume, but also very impressed by the hints system, speech recognition and PS Store integration. So much less wasted time as a result of these improvements!

Looks very slick, and a natural evolution of the PS4 UI which I already really liked. It'll be interesting to see how much of an effect themes have on the UI though as there seems to be a little less room for customization, maybe.

OK this game just keeps getting better and better. The cat is fantastic but also just wow, the game looks stunning. The quality of the lighting and that transition from the warehouse back to the open world are sooo nice. Really looking forward to it.

I expect I'll be using it a lot at first, as I've got a fairly big backlog of games to get through, and will be selling my PS4 to help fund my PS5. I'd rather play them on PS5 since I only have a base PS4 so I'm quite keen to have them running at higher specs where supported. Probably after a year or two it'll be less important to me though.

Haven't used remote play in a good while if I'm honest but good to see it continue to be updated.

Well, it's uh - definitely not for me, to put it lightly. The whole military angle is a big turnoff. It's all so bleak and colourless, too.

I'm VERY picky with my themes but there have been some great ones for PS4, my favourites have probably been the Persona 5 main protaganist theme from the JP store, Firewatch, Rez Infinite and Transistor. Looking forward to seeing what we get on PS5.
