@JohnnyShoulder I know what you mean, but he's also been revealed in the latest batch of official screenshots so probably it would have been spoiled either way. He's likely just the opening/tutorial boss so I wouldn't worry too much. But yeah, spoiler tags are always welcome regardless.

Looks immense. Really looking forward to unlocking all those costumes. That 2020 one (with the LED helmet and jacket) looks soooooo good.

@jamberino93 Both FF7R and SoR4 are well above the price I could buy them for digitally at the moment (£69 and £29 rather than £49 and £19), so don't think it's for me. Not interested in renting either, TBH.

Great deals there if there are any gaps in youtr library. I will resist though, keeping my eye out for FF7R and Streets of Rage 4 deals on the PS Store.

This now makes Fall Guys the best 3D Sonic game since SA2. It's hideous and I love it. Probably won't get it though as I got pretty bored with the game after a couple of weeks.

The one thing I will say is that the branding worked and I now want a BK for lunch more than any other cuisine on this earth.

If it was just a competition then it would seem a bit weird to have a countdown when so many other places are doing “win a PS5” promotions. So I think it’s a bit more than that, but what exactly? Who knows, not going to get drawn into getting excited! Either way we’ll see the UI soon enough.

Gave it a quick try over the weekend out of curiosity - it is a bit brazen with its influences for sure, the storyline and characters are cheesy as heck, and there are a baffling number of systems and currencies to get to grips with. But, I did enjoy it and am keen to play more of it. The world design is lovely and the combat seems like it'll get interesting with the way you combo characters. If you bounce off corny anime games then it probably won't be your cup of tea but for me it kinda added to the charm in a weird way.

The only thing that really puts me off at this early stage is that there just seems to be so much to do - looks like it might need almost MMO-like time investments to really play and enjoy. Could be wrong, just the impression I got so far.

@zupertramp There's defiitely a weird duality to it, you're right. Personally I've got a massive backlog of PS4 games I haven't played so the chance to catch up on all those while waiting for the PS5 games to get a little cheaper is a big incentive to get the console sooner rather than later. Otherwise, I'd still be getting a PS5, just probably not as soon.

Thought I was done with GG but damn that's an impressive trailer. Very tempting.

I'm actually pretty damn impressed by this lineup now. Of all those confirmed my top two are easily Demon's Souls and Spider-Man MM, but other than those I'm also really interested in Assassin's Creed, Astro Bot, Bugsnax, DMC5 (never played it first time around), Observer, Sackboy and The Pathless. That's...quite a lot! On PS4 there wasn't anything I was really excited for until Bloodborne came out.

Got a bit frustrated and bored first time round but willing to give it another shot.

I can see lots of people 3D printing their own panels at this rate - should be interesting. I never pick up limited consoles so glad to see if I decide to have a bit of an aesthetic change I won't need to pick up an entirely new console!

As amazing as this is going to be, I'm going to hang back and get it on PS5. That lobster summon move will never get old to me. NEVER.

Would much rather have a sequel, but if this is real and features raytracing, native 4k, cut content and all tjose other next gen goodies then I will absolutely buy it. Hooboy.

@b1ackjack Last time I checked, it was OK - certainly very playable, but have to admit I look at the buttery smooth framerates on more powerful platforms with a very envious eye. Hoping we get some improvrments on PS5, if we do I'll likely start from scratch and enjoy the full experience.

Got to give Hello Games credit where it's due - the ongoing support and content for NMS has been astoundingly good. Love it.

Not a fan of Bethesda so it hasn't influenced me at all. If the rumour about Sega turned out to be true that would be different, mind! Either way, I'm very much hoping to get a Xbox at some point anyway, as I'm very excited for Fable and Hellblade, and would love to give Forza a go at some point. But PS5 will be the first next gen console I buy and likely my "main" platform.

Sure, why not? I'm not an especially big MGS fan truth be told but I'd definitely give it a go. Have to admit these kinds of rumours look like wishful thinking in the wake of the Xbox announcements, though.

OK so first - I really think this is utter nonsense and can't imagine how Xbox's next move after spending 7.5 BILLION dollars on an acquisition would be to do it again.

But - if we're entertaining the possibility - then, well - I'd be buying an Xbox pretty damn quick! Have to admit I love that Shock Blue controller. It's gorgeous.

Yikes, it is a bit of a monster isn't it? It's not really a problem for me as it'll be tucked away inside a cabinet rather than stood next to the TV, but damn! Weirdly I kind of like the mix of consoles all together, looks like a city skyline where the PS5 is one of those super modern skyscrapers.

@AFCC It's a hard one to call - on the flip side, can they possibly afford not to publish the games on PS5? They just spent nearly the entire operating profit of PlayStation between 2013-2019 on ONE acquisition. Even with Microsoft's vast fortune, how long does an investment like this take to be profitable? Or do they just write it off for the sake of bragging rights and not really worry about if/when it makes its money back?

Not an easy answer and I'll be fascinated to see how they handle it.

Looks great, but surprised to see this one on PS4 as well. With Microsoft's offering hotting up by the minute it feels a bit like Sony need to start getting some wins PR-wise. Next few weeks will be interesting!

Absolutely incredible power play by Microsoft. Wow oh wow. Never would have expected that, what a win for them. Can't remember an announcement this major in recent memory.

Personally, it doesn't affect my next gen plans, because I'm not a fan of Bethesda's games in the slightest, but it's impossible not to recognize that thisis absolutely seismic. Incredible.

I still go back to NMS every time there's an update and easily get another 20-30 hours out of it minimum. Absolute gem of a game that I've really enojyed from day one. Only regret is that I haven't got a PSVR to try it out that way, so I'm hoping we can do so with whatever VR solution comes to PS5 via backwards compatibility or a next gen patch.

Apart from the 105 Spider Man ultimate edition, those sizes don't seem thaaat bad to me? Demon's Souls fat 60GB is less than I would have expected. And even then, with Spider-Man that's basically two games and fairly chunky DLC for the first one. I assume you don't have to have both of them installed at the same time, either.

Glad to see Sony trying to make amends, hopefully the next wave of pre-orders goes a lot more smoothly. I haven't decided yet if I'll pick one up at launch or not, we'll have to see.

I would genuinely prefer "substantially" rather than "slightly". Don't get me wrong the Witcher's great but just waaay too long for the time I'm able to invest these days. So yeah, I'm one of those that ever finished it. Keep meaning to go back, but just looks more and more unlikely as time goes on!

Personally I really like it, much more interesting than the PS4 design that’s for sure. Really like the Xbox Series S too, mind. Series X is fine but a little boring.

I'd love an upgrade option for this, but if I have to I'll gladly buy it all over again. Absolutely loved Spider-Man on PS4 and would definitely re-play it from scratch if needs be.

It would have been cool, but not too bothered in all honesty. I've still got my PS3 and have no real reason to get rid of it, so if I get desperate for some retro games I'll just fire that up. I'm sure we'll see PS Now grow during the PS5 generation as well, so there's lots of possibilities there.

Nah, original boxart looked better. Haven't played it yet though so definitely interested in picking up the PS5 version eventually.

Not fussed about pre-ordering - not the right time for me right now, so I'll probably pick one up next year at some point. It's definitely the console for me though and it's jus a question of when, not if.

Demons Souls and Miles Morales looking every bit as fantastic as I hoped! God of War in 2021 is earlier than expected too! Oh and love the look of FFXVI, can tell it’s the team from XIV and that fills me with a lot of confidence. Price and release was pretty much as expected so happy with that too. Hype!
