Sometimes it feels like the fate of the world is reliant on someone figuring out how to put people off using AI. 99% of adults I speak to just seem to see it as a complete non-issue and are completely unaware of the downsides and environmental impact. Had more than a few parents staring at me slack-jawed when I've explained to them why their kids' consoles and PCs cost so much.
I'm mid-way through XVI right after finishing VII Rebirth, and honestly it's such a breath of fresh air by comparison. Yes the side quests are mostly dull and pointless, but the rest is really, really good. The one aspect that regularly impresses me is that the devs really knew how to set up a scene. When you step out and see something of such immense scale that weirdly, somehow takes you back to the days of stunning pre-rendered backgrounds. So weird that they got that right better than the VII remakes did. The main cast are great (Clive, Cid and Jill in particular), the villains are much more interesting and menacing than the likes of Sephiroth (remake Sephiroth, anyways), the set pieces actually feel like huge dramatic, cinematic moments...it's just really, really good. I'm going to be gutted when it ends, and I haven't been able to say that about a Final Fnatasy in a long while.
I actually love the look of Big Walk, very much my kind of thing. But I don't really have any game playing friends, so doubt it's going to be something I experience, unfortunately. Still cool though.
The mini games were the least of the problems in Rebirth, honestly. I could forgive just about all of the meaningless distractions if the core story was up to scratch, but it was such a mess. Especially the ending and the complete fumbling of the game's pivotal story moment. I'll be there for Revelation because I love the original and need to experience the full remake, but I'm kinda dreading it in some ways.
Kemuri, GoWL, Marvel Tokon and Wolverine are all must-plays for me, Bancho looked cool and will keep my eye on that. Was lacking in variety slightly but still a strong showing, IMO.
Looked awesome to me. It's like if Hellblade went through a GoW filter taking all the best bits of human mythology along with it and put an awesome actress front and centre of it all. Yes please.
Welp, as this is the single biggest "I'll get round to it eventually" on my wishlist, I'll be hoping for a nice new complete edition I can finally buy and get stuck into.
Sadly, feels like the right time to call it a day. I had a few really good years with D2 and would gladly come back for D3 if they go down that route. Marathon isn't quite my type of game (despite having amazing music and art) but I'd love to see Bungie doing well, so really wish them the best.
I can kinda see why people are ragging on it, but...it's also just not that big a deal. Gaming is an interactive entertainment medium and I see plenty of room for games that demand loads of manual input and those that pepper the experience with a mix of hand-holding and decision making. All that matters is whether you enjoy the outcome or not. I'd like to give Mixtrape a try to see for myself, but it's probably going to wait for a sale, personally.
There's so much I would want, and I remain a Sega fanboy to this day, but I'm tempering my expectations until I see something. I'd almost prefer carefully and respctfully crafted remasters/remakes than any new ones, though. I'd be happy just re-living the past magic in the best possible quality.
The tags sound kinda useful I guess? Otherwise it’s just the kinda thing where I’d go “oh it looks kinda different” and then go about my day and never think about it again.
This has always been on my radar, but Marvel Tokon appeals a lot more (and is a bit easier to get into by the sounds of it) so I’m going all-in on that instead. Great to see them supporting this for so long though and bodes well for Tokon.
@LikelySatan Came here to say near enough the same thing. With a few exceptions this generation of games has left me a little cold and this makes me want to take a break from games even more. With so many games struggling to break even these days it really seems like a bizarre move to put up more reasons for people not to buy. Most of us I imagine have more than one hobby and it wouldn’t take much for me to spend my money elsewhere.
Yeah it isn't FromSoft, really wouldn't expect a new announcement from them outside of a major showcase.
I liked the look of the scenery shot (nicely old school) but the character model looked a bit meh. Seems a bit retro either way, so intrigued but can't say I'm too excited.
Loved every one of these games and really miss the characters. As much as I love seeing new stuff, I have to admit I'd be super hyped to see the franchise return. Would be well up for a Cassie-plus-old-man-Drake adventure. I could easily imagine something like Sully dying motivating the Drakes to get back out there, to carry on some half-finished adventure in his memory.
Can’t decide how I feel about it. Normally I’m not a big fan of prequels as I feel it cheapens future plot points, so my initial worry is that it’ll make Brok’s death and the general mystery/mythology of Faye seem less impactful.
But - Deborah Ann Woll is amazing and the two previous GoW games have been good enough for me to give them the benefit of the doubt. So, I’m intrigued, but not gonna get hyped up until we see it.
Insane decision, absolutely gutted they’re gone. I’ll be replaying SotC and Demon Souls now, methinks. What a sad day, really hope everyone affected find their feet soon.
I mean seriously, Demon Souls is still the best PS5 game if you ask me. This sucks.
This is one of those games I remain curious about, but I've not enjoyed any of the previous Bethesda RPG's I've played so probably have to concede that they're just not my kinda thing. Will keep an eye on how it does on PS5 though.
@LogicStrikesAgain really well said. I’m not the target audience for Marathon in the slightest but to call this slop is abject nonsense. Looking forward to the rest of the stream.
Really tempted to pick this up, loved Little Nightmares. The one thing that gives me pause is the fact that there's a big roadmap of content planned out for the next 12 months. Can't quite decide if I'd rather start now or wait until everything is there for the complete experience.
Probably my #1 (realistic) wish is some new characters for Marvel Tokon and a release date.
Would also love to see some FF7 Remake Pt 3 news, or the remake of Persona 4.
The dream is always Bloodborne, but I'd be overjoyed with a new mainline Soulsborne of any kind tbh. Know they've been done to (repeated) death but I just love the format and Dark Souls 3 feels like an eternity ago now.
Other than the logo in the middle of the touchpad, I like the design. In fact I really like the general art direction of Marathon, but not particularly interested in the game, unfortunately.
Supporting cast looks great but not convinced with Sophie Turner's casting - can't say I've particularly impressed by her in anything she's done before. A bit dry/boring but then maybe I haven't seen the right things. Fingers crossed, would be great to have a good series to accompany the new games.
I do agree that having separate health bars would probably be preferable, found that I usually stuck to my primary character in battle unless the action forced me to switch. Still really enjoyed it though. I think my only real concern is that the roster will be very slowly increased over time - I understand the need for managing dev costs but as a big fan of MvC I hope they get a good router to go for launch at least.
I'm excited about the return of classic Lara. I couldn't care less what she looks like, but I preferred her characterization in the earlier games, along with the fact they were a bit sillier and more bombastic. Love the history and mythology running through them. The survivor trilogy was good (especially the first one), but just didn't get me hooked in quite the same way. Lara seemed a fairly unlikeable and in making her more realistic they just seemed to make her a bit whiny, particularly in the final game.
A games industry without Keita Takahashi would be a very sad place indeed. Funnily enough I did actually buy To a T, but admittedly haven’t played it yet (haven’t played much of anything this year, in fact). Will bump it up my list now though and make sure I play it over Christmas.

Re: PS5 Costs Too Much, But These New Xbox Price Increases Are Just Absurd
I was actually thinking of buying one of those limited Series X consoles, but this has probably changed that. Oh well.

WipEout would be insane, but it would also be a pretty interesting curveball if it turned out to be F Zero...

No problem with that - want this to be as good as it can be. Played the demo on my Switch 2 and loved it, really looking forward to launch.
Re: 8 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for June 2026
Ah damn, just bought FF16 a couple weeks ago! Typical. Really enjoying it though, so it’s nice that more people are going to experience it.
Gitaroo Man is amazing as well, highly recommended if you’ve not played it before.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Cheats Live Now in New PS5 Patch
Might revisit to pick up some extra trophies, I guess. But I've moved on to FFXVI now and really enjoying it so getting my fix there for now.
