After what feels like an eternity of writing about the supposed Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster, it's finally, finally, finally been made official. BioWare has announced that Mass Effect Legendary Edition will launch in Spring 2021 for PS4. It'll include all three Mass Effect games from the original trilogy, complete with all of their single-player DLC packs.
The remasters will boast 4K resolution support, overhauled assets, enhanced visual effects, and better frame rates. BioWare says that it's also targeting specific improvements for PS5 through backwards compatibility. We'll be getting more information next year.
Are you happy to see Mass Effect Legendary Edition finally become a reality? Say goodbye to those bloody rumours in the comments section below.

Just what I been waiting for. This makes me coom
So excited!
To top it off:
"Meanwhile here at BioWare, a veteran team has been hard at work envisioning the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe. We are in early stages on the project and can't say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we'll be going next."
Happy N7 Day!!

To be honest I was expecting something rather underwhelming, not the thing everyone (including me) was hoping for.
Hopefully EA will give them enough time and resource to actually finish this trilogy and the next iteration BEFORE releasing the game. I wonder if it will be an Andromeda sequel, a sequel to the trilogy, or something else
All I want is for them to make the first game not feel a billion years old.
"I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite remaster on the Citadel!"
And ofc not for the Switch. Man, EA really hates that thing
You forgot to mention that they are already working on the next mass effect game
They could have put out a trailer. 🙄
@Crimson_Ridley I like the picture under that statement. I know it's only concept art but I dig the look, plus there's definitely a Salarian there.
@get2sammyb they did... Kinda

I wouldn’t mind playing these again. But probably on PS5.
Cool! can't wait to play the first two games as i missed out on them.
i wonder if this does well,they will do a dragon age collection.
I am definitely excited for this. I’m also curious about the tease for the new game. That is probably several years away after Dragon Age 4.
Spring!? Ffs. I'm impatient, I wanted it yesterday.
Loved all these games, but even with a few extra pixles it doesn't make me want to play a remaster. They would of been better to just make a new game following these 3.
I seriously hope some day we'll hear the story of HOW and WHY this took so long to come out in spite of massive consumer demand and all the teases and rumours. Still, hype tho.
Replayed the trilogy on PC back in 2016 and surprisingly I found the first game was my favorite! When they originally came out it had been my least favorite. The ambiance in that game is just spot on 👌
So they’ll release it as a PS4 game with back compat first, promising “enhancements” then will sell a true ps5 patch down the road...
I'm coming home Tali my love. ❤
Favourite games wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I'm over the moon
I'm so excited, but why isn't this on Switch? It's powerful enough to play these games, just look at Borderlands Legendary Collection.
@johncalmc I played it recently on the 1 x and thought it held up pretty well
Sign me up 😎 played the first one on PC many years ago. Can't wait to dive back in.
YES! THANK YOU BIOWARE! I may even buy it on the big 3 steam , Xbox and playstation. I've been playing through the series on Xbox one and when ea realeased the 3rd one on Steam been playing though it on there il keep my next play through on this copy. ( Joy pad set up on pc for the first game was a nightmare but it was like that back then )
@Total_Weirdo wait what, you jumped in at 3?
Can't wait to hear Mordin sing some Gilbert and Sullivan again.
Wanted to ask, I’ve never played any of these games. I’m into 3rd person games but not a fan of any sci fi stuff. I play a lot of halo, 1st person sci fi I don’t mind-I don’t really pay much attention to the story in sci fi games.Would this game be worth me playing?
Now all I need is Nintendo to officially announce the Metroid prime trilogy
@Cyrus29 it is extremely sifi heavy but a great trilogy all the same
@Sladey69 thanks for the reply. So the gameplay is worth buying it for? If I ignore the story? Or does the story hook you in? I’ve been interested in playing it but keep putting it off. But with these remasters, I’m still on the fence.
ME1 needs a rehaul to be playable today, but I’m not holding my breath...
@Cyrus29 the story is the main draw but the combat is standard shooter with abilities thrown in, the first is pretty stiff but hopefully they will change that in the remaster
Finally.
But I do kinda miss all the memes and jokes.
Would be cool if they make the shooting more satisfying, I played the first two on PC and then didn't buy the third because Origin. My biggest wish is probably to cut the elevators down to half a second tops.
@HotGoomba___Rebrand, this is a 4k remaster and is pushing for next gen, borderlands had a minor graphical update - its like asking why the switch can't run the FF7 remake because it runs FF15 pocket edition.
I love the Switch, but I dont expect to play any third party AAA titles moving forward that aren't cloud streamed.
@ChaosBadger777 You're not entirely wrong, although comparing a Remaster to FF7 Remake is a bit strange but whatever, but if it can run on the original Xbox One model, it would likely run on Switch. And they could at LEAST port the original trilogy to the Switch, since the Wii U literally has Mass Effect 3 on it, and the Switch is more powerful than the Wii U because it doesn't give a chuck of its power to a useless piece of plastic (the gamepad).
Never played any of them, so I'm very intrigued by this.
@HotGoomba___Rebrand EA would have to port all three last gen games and fully optimise them to run on switch which it would appear isnt worth the investment for them.
According to Bioware this is a complete remaster upto 4k and the switch cant handle the visual upgrades of the dark souls remaster.
Just pick it up on the PlayStation and play Monster Hunter rise on the switch - not every game needs to be stripped back to play on lower spec hardware and the switch is getting some amazing exclusives.
Dead space remastered next.mass effect is pretty good.cant wait to play it again.word up son
Awesome to have it official finally. I am a little disappointed that there’s no switch version, however reading between the lines that may mean this remaster or whatever it is, is substantially upgraded from the original trilogy.
Shocked! Stunned! I did not see this coming!
Hope they make the controls for the Mako better.
"complete with all of their single-player DLC packs"
Damn, even ME1's Pinnacle Station?
Amazing news!
If you haven't played the original trilogy - do it when this launches. Absolute masterpiece. Still get goosebumps with the first ME ending song
@Ridwaano Hi there friend. Absolutely agree.
For me nothing is going to beat getting my limited edtion Xbox 360 version on day one from my local store with some friends and watching that sweet intro into the ME universe with "that music" when we see the Normandy crew and "our" Shepard the first time. You know the one.
Really fond memories from those times.
Cheers, stay safe out there and happy gaming to us all
@Slippship probably be close to that imo
free monthly game can but dream
Hoping for a prequel involving the Krogan Rebellions or a game based around the time of first contact war
Glad they are not messing with how the trilogy actually plays. Just updating graphics etc. The distinct feel of the games especially the first game and evolution between games needs to be preserved.
@Cyrus29
If you do not care about story do not play the games thats where they really shine
There was a story that this bundle was delayed so they could retool the 1st game. It doesn't sound like that's happening (?), which is a little disappointing.
@RaZieLDaNtE
And when he leaves earth 🌍 in the beginning of mass effect 3. That sound track!
@playstation1995 ive never played any of the ME trilogy. Im definitely getting this, cant wait to check these out. Ive always heard good things about them.
Love the Mass Effect trilogy. I hope they fix the crappy inventory management in the first game. I think about five hours of my playtime was spent just junking upgrades I didn't need anymore.
@blacklivesmatter thanks for the advice.
@Sladey69 Thanks for the advice.
**Edited out the name. Those who have already played will know.** 😊👇
First time playing ME2:
Oooh, Archangel. Wonder who he is...
Second time playing ME2:
I’M COMING ******!!!! 💖😍
@ellsworth004. Whats going on playa.yes mass effect trilogy is iconic.i hope next is a dead space trilogy remastered.word up son
I played ME2 three times, and ME3 twice, but I'm still looking forward to it to be able to play ME1 for the first time. However, I'm interested to see how integrated the three games are. Hopefully, there's something more to it than all there simply being on the same disc, and the gamer choosing which one to jump into, like some other collections have had.
I just hope they added the option to romance Kaiden as male Shep in ME1 and not just ME3.
@Cyrus29 great story with alot of good characters. You'll like it.
@BleedingDreamer I’ll watch some videos on YouTube on how it plays. Thanks for the advice.
Another one to put their hand up as never playing this. Not sure its a day one buy for me, but like RDR1/Undead Nightmare its one of the more notable series PS owners have been aaking for
I wonder what build this will be based off? Obv. PS3 eventually got ME1 via the trilogy pack but you used that multichoice thing in ME2 instead of carrying a save game over.
More power to ya if you love these games but it’s EA so if you spend money on this you’re supporting garbage business practices and anti-consumer behaviour.
@playstation1995 The two Deadspace games you mean. 😆
@Flaming_Kaiser. No 3 dead space games.part 3 was good also.word up son
@Ridwaano Absolutely. Clint Mansell´s Leaving Earth is soooo good. Goose bumps every time man.
Awesome soundtrack. Still listen to it on my phone when i go to the gym and groceries shopping as well as M4 part II by faunts and Suicide Mission by Jack Wall. Such a big rush. The power of music and set pieces.
Cheers and all the best
@Sladey69 yeah unfortunately.So that's' why i am looking forward to this trilogy!
@playstation1995 Microtransactions fused in main gameplay way less horror it wasnt for me. It was the Resident Evil 6 of Deadspace and this killed the franchise. Lets be clear this is my personal opinion.
I tried playin all three never finished any of them. What ticked me off was the horrible driving experience of rover on the moon experience. Story wise pretty good. Called it romance but you never get to see anything dirty. They should make a kid version and mature adult softcore porn version but probably dumb parents would buy the 2nd for their kids like call of duty games. Why is there even a rating board when parents are that dumb?
@Total_Weirdo did you understand what was going on in number 3 as all 3 are heavily tied together?
@Sladey69 There was story gaps but i really enjoyed it and was hoping for this trilogy boxset so i can start from the beginning.
Not sure how i ended up kissing another man in the game but hey it's 2020
@Total_Weirdo 🤣 cool, I think it will all be a nice surprise from start to finish. Some don't but I absolutely loved the 1st and the mako planet exploration included.
@Flaming_Kaiser. No its not.dead space 3 is a good game.word up son
Would have played the heck out of this in Switch but I won’t ever get to it on PS4. Nevermind
Loved ME2 but not willing to play that crappy ending of ME3 again. No thanks for me
Here's hoping to everything on disc and not as DLC.
My favourite games being remastered is fantastic. Is it greedy if I want them to now remaster KOTOR 1&2 and Jade Empire now?
Finally! Hope there are substantial improvements for PS5, too.
I still have my untouched PS3 copy, hopefully this time around I'll finally give the series a chance!
@Total_Weirdo haha😂
