Korean model Shin Jae-eun has returned to studio Shift Up, with news about sequel Stellar Blade 2 due later this year.
The star was famously scanned into the game as heroine Eve back in 2020, something we were able to exclusively confirm in our interview with boss Kim Hyung-tae prior to the original game’s release.
Now she’s returned to the Seoul dev for a visit, where she got to check out the performance capture studio, take photos with staff, and even do some more modelling.
Jae-eun notes during her vlog that the capture room has remained unchanged, although it has been kitted out with all-new cameras.

In the video she models a couple of different outfits, and we wonder if those will be added to Stellar Blade via a free update at some point in the future.
She also got to have a chat with bigwig Hyung-tae, who hand-selected Jae-eun for the role.
He explained why he picked her as Eve’s model:
“I wanted to introduce characters and a world that felt a bit surreal. Out of everyone I know, you had the most surreal look that I thought would perfectly fit a video game character. That’s why I reached out to you. Thank you so much for accepting it and filming with us back then.”
As a gift, Hyung-tae gave Jae-eun a limited edition Eve figurine, limited to just 50 units – which he subsequently broke. But he replaced the damaged part with his own piece, saying he can just “glue” his back together.
All in all, it’s a fun video that gives you a little behind-the-scenes look into Shift Up’s studio.
The dev says it’ll share more about Stellar Blade 2 later this year, although it’ll be self-publishing the sequel this time.
However, we’re sure Sony will still be involved, and will help the Korean studio market the title, given its association with PlayStation.
