Sony loves to get fancy with its console unboxing videos, but when it was teased that Travis Scott would be involved in the unveiling of the PlayStation 5, it was obvious something rather unique was coming. And boy is it. This 10-minute video is a journey through Travis' first encounter with the PS5 out in a desert as he activates some sort of gigantic, rectangular thing with big speakers to match. Then come the games with the likes of Astro's Playroom, Horizon Forbidden West, Demon's Souls, and Solar Ash highlighted.
Next up is a scene where Travis Scott surprises two kids with PS5 consoles and the chance to play games with him. Then James Blake sings a song before Scott rounds things out with a tribute to Pop Smoke. That's certainly something, isn't it? Compared to Shuhei Yoshida donning a white pair of gloves and simply taking apart the PS5 packaging though, we'd take this unique video every day of the week.

With Duo lupo on Fifa and Travis Scott doing this I'm feeling properly out of touch with the kids. Who are these people? Is it time for me to hang up my gaming boots? That's all I've taken away from these news articles. The fact I no longer have to turn the machines on for the kids and they can do it themselves, the fact I have to remind them it's MY machine and the fact they beat my bop it high score last night. I'm not taking this aging game too well today
Why is there so many crossovers with rappers and modern singers ðŸ˜
Travis Scott × PlayStation
Travis Scott × McDonald's
The Rock × Microsoft/Xbox
Lil Nas X × Roblox (At least the event looks quailty)
Some Spanish Guy × McDonald's
Billie Eilish × James Bond
Imagine Dragons × Disney
Squirtle with Cool Shades × Nintendo

I wish we could've had something like Mobb Deep promoting the PS1 back in the golden era of hip hop.
I refuse to watch this as I don’t know who he is and would like to keep it that way.
Don't care about his music but he seems a decent guy! 2021 is going to (hopefully) be an amazing year for gaming! I cannot wait to experience it
I love that in 2020 you still get lots of elderly people commenting how they don’t know Travis Scott, who’s has arguably been one of the biggest superstars in the world over the last 3-5 years
@HotGoomba___Rebrand Why do you think? 🤔
As LaFlame would say, IT'S LIT!
@get2sammyb Money.
@Raspberries hey, I'm only 33, I just don't hang out in the mainstream. Get off my lawn! 🤣
@Vacuumator Why wouldn't you want to educate yourself?
@LiamCroft I mean I think anyone who doesn't want to have a chance to listen to Stop Trying To Be God is missing out!
The beginning remind's me of A film by Stanley Kubrick 2001: A Space Odyssey https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHWs3c3YNs4
and is the second segment a shout out to E.T........James meh.....R.I.P. Pop Smoke.
@HotGoomba___Rebrand The Rock isn’t a rapper
@rjc-32
1. I said modern singers as well
2. Have you never seen Moana?
They need to do one of these with Celine Dion.
Cool! I really enjoy that.
Who's randomly delivering PS5's in the UK... Boris????
Who or what is Travis Scott?
@Grimwood He's a global superstar to the millennial bunch apparently. Slept with a kardashian or something.
@Raspberries shoulda done one for us "elderly" gamers with Scottish band Travis, woulda been better
Who is this guy to have so much support from Sony?
I bet that I spent more money on appliances from Sony than this guy... And I never bought a single on just because a "celebrity" use...
Yeesh some people really need to relax. No, I have no idea who he is either but I still enjoyed the video. Much more interesting than some video games exec doing an unboxing or giving us the same tired old "for the gamers" speech.
Again, never heard of Travis Scott, the man with two first names.
@Raspberries
I’ve only heard of him through news articles on here. It’s not uncommon to be unaware of well-known people. If one has no interest in a particular genre of music and does not consume any news media that may feature certain artists, then it’s perfectly normal not to have heard of someone like this person. I occasionally come across names of artists I’ve never heard of, but I’ve only heard of this Travis Scott in the past few weeks. I genuinely don’t want to know anymore about him or his music.
