Pretty obvious it wouldn’t be on any game subscription service day 1, but I’d also add that I wouldn’t be at all surprised if GTA 6 is the first game to retail higher than £/$70 for the standard edition. Needless to say, I hope I’m wrong.

Still chipping away at the huge FF7 Rebirth, where I have just arrived at the Gold Saucer. I bought Atlas Fallen during the week, as it was on sale and had just had the Reign of Sand update. A bit worrying that I’ve already had 2 crashes where the game just froze on me. Considering the game has been out a year you’d think this sort of thing would have been fixed by now 🙄 I also bought Steamworld Heist 2, which I hope to start over the weekend.

Looks amazing but if it’s another soulslike with no difficulty options then I’ll pass.

This has been on my wishlist for a while now. With this new big update and it being on sale…I’m tempted 🤔

For my birthday a few days ago I got Rise of the Ronin. It’s very early days but so far combat seems like fun, though graphics are very average (but I knew that before getting it). Also playing the excellent Doom-esque roguelite Deadlink, which is a blast. Oh yeah, still chipping away at FF7 Rebirth!

Probably Astro bot and Star Wars Outlaws for me. Possibly Test Drive too.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wouldn’t be at all surprised if going forward Gearbox alternate between Borderlands mainline entries with Tiny Tina Wonderlands games, even if they are remarkably similar.

This is a lot of fun. Gunplay is very satisfying. Agree with the description of it being a doom-esque roguelite. It was a bit of an impulse buy, but loving it so far.

I’m not a fan of the insta-fail stealth sections, but on the whole I’m looking forward to this. I’ve been in a bit of a gaming rut lately so am ready to sink my teeth into a new open world to explore. What are the graphics options? Does it have your usual fidelity (30fps) vs performance (60fps) modes? Is the frame rate stable?

I’ve had this on my wishlist for a while, but it turns out I’m getting it for my birthday next week 🙂🍰🎆🎈🎉 needless to say I will avoid the demo

I’ve been playing it a lot recently on Series X and it doesn’t stutter at all now. Yes, when I first played it around 6 months ago it stuttered occasionally but they’ve fixed it now.

I’ve got high hopes for this game, but will definitely be waiting for reviews before pulling the trigger!

Still working my way through FFV7 Rebirth. I’m now on chapter 7, in the Corel region. I tried Flintlock on GP, but couldn’t get into it. Will now try Kunitsu-Gami: path of the goddess instead. For my FPS fix I’ve recently been replaying Rage 2.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised if they released it alongside GTA 6, or maybe another big release? 🤔 the problem is the later they leave it the closer it will be to the PS6. They need to hit that sweet spot in the middle of the PS5’s life cycle.

Maybe people are suffering from FPS fatigue? You’ve had 2 recent F2P games release - Xdefiant and The First descendant. Maybe they are burnt out on shooters.

I played and finished Stellar Blade and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only started playing FFV7 Rebirth a few weeks ago and somewhat surprisingly - I’m not a huge Final Fantasy fan - am really enjoying it. I can’t remember what chapter I’m on but I’m currently in the Junon region. So for me it’s out of those 2 games, but I’d say - even though I haven’t finished it - FFV7 Rebirth has the edge.

I think Astro bot will be the closest game Sony has to a full on Nintendo release - colourful, cute characters in a game that will have you grinning every time you play…and I can’t wait!

Hope we get a new track, from my recollection we haven’t had one in quite some time (Grand Valley I believe).

They need to do some kind of tie-in with Diddly Squat farm 😂

I did play Elden ring for about 20 hours before quitting, but no won’t be playing this.

Don’t forget Parcel Corps, which I believe is out the same day as HP Quidditch.

I know that if I play this it will just make me wanna fire up the actual Horizon games 😂

I’m definitely getting this at some point but have only just started FF7 Rebirth which will keep me busy for quite a while.

I haven’t played Destiny 2 in a couple of years, but I remember the gun play being excellent. Last time I delved back in - or tried to - I was overwhelmed by all the ingame currencies, systems etc, and can’t help feeling that would be the case again now. Shame, because at its core it’s a great FPS, but it just doesn’t do enough to welcome newcomers or lapsed players like myself.

I’m more excited for this than for HP Quidditch. This is like Crazy Taxi had a baby with Jet Set Radio and wrapped in Borderlands style graphics.

I’m pretty sure I’m on the final boss now in Stellar Blade. Ngl I’ve been somewhat taken aback by all the back-to-back bosses near the end of the game. In anticipation of finishing SB, I bought 2 games in sales this week - FF7 Rebirth and Like a dragon infinite wealth. Now which do I start first? 🤔 I’m also playing Paper Mario TTYD on Switch.

I bought physical version of FF7 Rebirth from Amazon as I’m nearing the end of Stellar Blade and want a new game to sink my teeth into.

Starting to feel a little burnt out now on Stellar Blade, so have decided to ignore side quests and concentrate on the main story. Have just been effectively given the “point of no return” notification so I guess I’m on the home straight. Also dusted off my Switch this week so I can play Paper Mario TTYD which is great fun so far.

Still waiting for a price drop before I bite.

I think GTA V and MK8 deluxe are battling it out for most weeks spent in the top 10! 😂

I’m curious as to how this infinity “hub” is going to work. Considering the size of many AC games they don’t expect you to have several installed simultaneously to get any hub benefits? 🤔

It’s probably because the game is too big to fit on a disc, so you’ll have to download a portion of it. It’s not like it requires a constant online connection, like in Top Spin 2K25.

@Mikey856 I remember Future cop LAPD! Me and my mate had many a late night playing that, trying to storm each other’s bases! 🙂

Mine is due for renewal in June, and I’m seriously thinking of just letting it lapse. Very rarely play online, and only the occasional game on PS+ extra that actually interests me. Considering how expensive it is now for a year I can’t help feeling I’d be better off buying games in sales instead.

Between this and Star Wars Outlaws it looks like my gaming for Q3/4 is taken care of!

Thoroughly enjoying Stellar Blade, it’s way more fun than I was expecting and the combat is really satisfying. Can’t believe I sat on the fence for a week before deciding to buy it 😂 I’m around 15 hours in, and currently exploring the wasteland. Considering this is Shift up’s first console game I’m surprised at just how polished it is. I also like all the little touches, like when scanning underwater it changes to a sonar sound, or how Eve poses to the camera when you find a can.

Good to know, thanks. It’s been quite a while since I’ve played Destiny 2. I remember the gun play being great, but last time I hopped back in I felt overwhelmed with all the currencies, game mechanics etc.

I only started playing it a few days ago, but I’m having such a blast I can easily see myself doing a NG+ run.

What has no doubt compounded the problem is that as games get bigger - in terms of budgets, graphics etc - then development cycles get longer. Therefore the gap in releases from every Sony first party studio gets longer and longer.

After sitting on the fence, I finally caved and bought Stellar blade, which came yesterday. Played an hour or so last night and it seems like a lot of fun, with great combat mechanics. Will get proper stuck into it over the (bank holiday) weekend. Also playing Dave the diver, Dragons Dogma 2, and last but not least Top Spin 2K25. Plenty of games to be getting on with! 🙂

@MrBook you’re not missing much. Same bloke winning all the time 🙄 this looks like F1 23.1 definitely not paying £70 for this. Codemasters really need a new graphics engine - Ego is showing it’s age.
