The clocks are about to get back in the UK, which means months of dark and dismal gaming await. Fortunately, there's no shortage of things to play. Here are the games keeping us busy.
Jamie O'Neill
There are ten weekends left in 2025, so I've made a list of 10 WAYP PS4 and PS5 new releases that I want to spend more time with before 2026. My first choice is hanging with the vampires and wraiths in Crystal Dynamics' 2003 PS2 game, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, which was added to PS Plus Premium in September 2025.

Instead of leaving it all to the last minute (again) I'm going to get my quests in Zenless Zone Zero finished this week.
Stephen Tailby
I can't really say what I'm playing this weekend, but the tidal wave of new games has yet to relent. You can expect a handful of reviews in the near future.
That's what we're playing this weekend, then, but what's on your busy gaming agenda? As always, give us your itinerary in the comments section below.

This weekend I am playing Wolfenstein II The New Colossus. I just arrived in New Orleans
On the side I have Vigil The Longest Night and Heroes of Might and Magic The Olden Era (DEMO) on the Steam Deck. It is a really nice game for any HoMM fan!
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Gonna try and get a bit more done on Final Fantasy XIII-2. I’ve had three sessions with it these passed few weeks and finally feel like I have a bit of direction with it. Part way through episode 4 atm and I have next week off so… ideally I’ll either have popped the plat or be very close by this time next Saturday.
Hopefully a bit more raid mode on Resident Evil: Revelations too if schedules align. We’re now on to our third run-through on Abyss difficulty and while this road to the platinum is an unbelievable grind (honestly I can’t believe enough people have done it to take it out of the ultra rare category) it’s a good laugh.
Lorelei and the Laser Eyes for me this weekend. What an absolute gem of a game. I don't think I've been this obsessed with a puzzle game since The Witness. Currently just over 50% completion, and finding it utterly mesmerising.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Still making my way through Ghost of Yotei.
A really well made game that seems to improve the further you get into it; and I'm actually enjoying just exploring each area and doing side quests etc (which is not usually my favourite part of open world games, except this and Hogwarts Legacy).
I might start Crow Country this weekend, to "celebrate" the clocks going back and get myself in the mood for Halloween
Well... in last week's WAYPTW I said I was going to finish and possibly platinum Ghost of Yotei and then I jumped on the Arc Raiders server slam instead. I loved it so much I've pre-ordered ready for launch on Thursday... so between now and Thursday I definitely need to finish and maybe platinum Ghost!
Still on Yotei.
The more I play the more I like it and it's up there with the best playstation games for me.
It's challenging Doom the dark ages for my game of the year so far
Ghost of Yotei and Vampire Bloodlines 2
Digimon Story: Time Stranger I finished this the other day and what a crazy ride. Really had a good time with it. Easily the best digimon game so far and a fun JRPG in general with some surprisingly dark and very touching moments throughout.
However now it's back to Silent Hill f just in time for spooky month~!
Have a good weekend everyone!
Mopping up ( i think ! ) the baffling but mind blowing Death Stranding on PS5.
More GOTY Clair Obscur on XBX - A truly stunning game and blowing heads off in the sublime Battlefield 6 multiplayer
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Playstation
F1 23
Won in Mexico for McLaren.
Lies of P
Reached Level 92 and rolled credits. A pretty good homage to Bloodborne and I enjoyed it despite some clumsy platforming elements and not tending to play Souls-like games. Post-credits trailer sets up the next game nicely. Rating: A-Tier.
Little Nightmares
Finished the Prison level.
Other Platforms
Monster Train
I've now won with all clan combinations, levelled each clan up to maximum level, levelled every champion up to maximum level in all aspects, unlocked all cards, and unlocked all artifacts. It's taken 37 games to do this with a 24-13 win/loss record. I'll call this done for now and will move on to Monster Train 2 some time down the track. Rating: A-Tier.
The Legend of Zelda
Have done all my preparations in the overworld and have built myself up to 6 hearts and acquired the White Sword, the Magical Shield, and the Blue Ring. About to tackle the first dungeon.
Working through, and loving, Dying Light The Beast.
Another brilliant game from Techland. Any follow up really needs a more varied and interesting story though which opens up choice fully.
On PS5 i am trying to finish a few games before the 27th as on that day il have Ghost of Yotei, Digimon Story Time Stranger and Final Fantasy Tactics. So my main focus this weekend will be on Borderlands 4 and Black Book.
On Switch 2 it's more Pokémon Legends Z-A and onto Super Mario Galaxy 2
80 hours into Hogwarts Legacy and still not finished. I got the platinum for this on my PS5 so I may as well get all cheevos here on Xbox.
Ninja Gaiden 4 and some Days Gone Remastered. Have a good weekend all!
After being persuaded by a few of the guys on here I picked up Kingdom come 2 yesterday. I didn't know what to expect apart from it takes a while to get going. After putting in a few hours last night I can already tell this is going to be a bloody good game and dare I even say one of the best. May get some time on Elden ring and also JP evolution 3. That's if KCD2 let's me.
Had a look through my backlog for something to play and landed on Mirrors Edge Catalyst. I've only played for little over an hour so far, but it seems like it's going to be good.
I'm jumping back into Dying Light The Beast after getting the Platinum for Ghost of Yotei.
Will mostly be out spending time with my Mrs. Out for food and to see Black Phone 2.
My old t.v. had become unwatchable, so bought a new proper 4K one. My previous one was almost 10 years old. I have a lot of games to replay now that will look like totally different with my new one.
Hopefully I'll get more of Silksong done but no doubt I'll put on some powerhouse games just to gawk at the imagery. Wish I'd upgraded sooner but the t.v. I had worked fine.
Have a great weekend everyone.
I got the plat in Yotei during the week. If they add a NG+ mode I'll go back for another run or two, and obviously I can't wait for the Legends mode, but for now I've moved on to Absolum and Dispatch.
Finally made it past a place I've been stuck on for weeks in KCD1, game can be difficult but as satisfying as Souls games when you overcome. The animations in the cutscenes are top notch, don't sleep on this £4.99 gem. I'll be finding some supposedly wild woman in the equally lovely KCD2. Playing games with Julianna in Deathloop. Rolling with River Ward in CP2077.
Completed ghost of yotei and loved every second of it. Really loved how organic the side quests turn up-Goty for me. Currently cleaning up some more side quests till my copy of battlefield 6 turns up.
Observation (PS4) on PS5. Currently £1.99 on sale. You essentially play HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey mixed with the film Gravity. Really enjoying it so far. Lots of, fix this fix that, space station puzzles.
i’ll be playing kcd2 on the 5pro and fear the spotlight? on my insert specs here pc. beyond video games i’ll be starting a subaru mini van model kit.
@Elfuggingjefe best review of KCD2 I’ve heard! 😂
Finally finished GOW Ragnarok on Thursday and started Silent Hill 2 not sure if I'll stick with it or not. I'm also trying to get the last act of Gears Reloaded on hardcore finished. Still playing Battlefield 6 multiplayer daily too can't wait for season 1.
Midway through my NG+ playthrough of Fate/Samurai to get all the digressions and endings. This game has been such a surprise, absolutely loved my time with it.
And it’s spooky month so started Silent Hill 2 (much tougher than I remember from when I was a teenager playing it on PS2… maybe my reflexes were better back then 😄), but with this and Fate/Samurai, PS plus has actually been worth it last few months.
Also, in small doses braving Madison VR, but holy hell that is intense. It takes a lot to spook me, but there have been cases I’ve actually closed my eyes, and one point I almost ripped the headset off my head… that is some scary stuff, but… ‘tis the season!
Have fun everyone!
Ghost of Yotei, although I’m at roughly 45% completed. A little bit of the campaign of Jurassic World Evolution 3, which I love. Just started The Outer Worlds 2 and I love it too. Staying with the newly released games since I finished Hell Is Us and Yooka Re-Playlee two weeks ago. Also tried a bit of Into Black on my PSVR2.
Oh! And since I no longer have my Switch, I added Monster Hunter Stories 2 to my backlog, but that’s for later. It’ll scratch my itch for a Pokémon-like game on my PS5.
Octopath Traveler II: I've done practically all sidequests, licenses, and have obtained the Inventor and Armsmaster secondary jobs and items, and everyone's at 60 or above - and I haven't even started Chapter III's. At this rate, I'm well on track for the final bosses.
I just replaced my OLED PS Vita battery. So right now i'm playing two games on it:
Continuing this game again. Right now i'm at the shelter just exploring and eliminating NMC's with M4A1 equip with Grenade Launcher.
I'm really enjoying this game despite it didn't use ATB like PE 1. Heck, probably a hot take but combat wise i'm enjoying this game a bit more than PE 1. Graphic also looks better than PE 1 and on OLED screen it looks a bit better too. My only complaints: 1) Music aren't as memorable as PE 1. 2) Inventory management is quite annoying.
One of my backlog. Years ago i've reach the final boss but my memory stick got corrupted and wiped out all save files. It's a fun game and very challenging too. I hope i can finish it this weekend.
Have a nice weekend everyone 🍻
Can’t stop playing Ghost of Yōtei! I love this game. Around 35 hours in, and have still only killed one of the Yōtei six - The Snake - who you kill at the start of the game 😂 I just keep getting sidetracked. Have now unlocked all melee weapons. By the time I do get to kill the rest of the Yōtei six I should be fully armed and ready 💪👊
In light of the season I thought I’d get a spooky game, but VR has ruined pancake “horror” games for me, so I got the somewhat spooky but not terror inducing (a real thing in VR for me lol) The 7th Guest. Enjoying the puzzles and spooky atmosphere so far.
I also downloaded Fate/Samurai Remnant, but hear Sony have censored it beyond what other platforms allow. Will look to play it elsewhere if this is the case, does anyone have details on this as Google and Sony are not being helpful.
Finished Bloodborne for the first time, including the DLC. What a blast! I remember buying it when the PS4 came out and quickly returning it because I just didn’t understand these kinds of games. Returnal and Elden Ring really opened my eyes.
After two 100+ hours games in a row I’m taking a small break from gaming now, except for the daily GT7 roulette miles. Time to dive into that big pile of blu-rays I’ve bought over the last two years.
I’m trying to play Power wash simulator 2, but my PS5 has started overheating. So it’s time for the annual how to remove the plates, and deal with the screws 😂😂😂. I hate it everytime.
I finished Final Fantasy XVI (ps5) much faster than expected. It grabbed me and I could no stop playing. Incredible score, overall an awesome spectacle and a very good story. Sometimes the story is a bit too straight forward but I enjoyed it overall very much. Currently I am wondering whether I should play the DLC or whether that would ruin the impressions the game left on me. Also, the story does not seem to leave any ends that need to be explored further.
Then I picked up Reach on psvr2. I played maybe 1h or a bit more. I have to say that I am bit disappointed. The beginning feels like an old quest2 game, very simple geometry, low res textures, the environments feel very empty and lack atmosphere. Once underground graphics are a bit more interesting, but still feel a bit empty. The parkour mechanics feel okay but also are not ground breaking. I have no idea how it performs on other platforms, but the psvr2 version feels very unoptimised. .Hopefully future patches will at least rectify the technical shortcomings.
[UPDATE] I played a bit more today, only the underground areas, and it looked much better. But at some point some low res textures appeared. So, there is likely something not fully correct with texture LOD, and maybe the eye tracking was a bit off Yesterday, or I got used to the reprojection. Anyway today the game played fine and I am actually looking forward to continue.
I will be continued playing one of the best video games ever made in the incredible red dead redemption. I will also continued be playing fan favorite the excellent assassin's creed odyssey. And I will also continued playing the smash hit the amazing monster hunter world. I will watch my boston celtics 💚🖤 play.i will also watch my pittsburgh steelers 💛🖤 play.and I will watch legendary sitcoms TV 📺 comedy shows in family matters.good times.the Jeffersons.sanford and son.different strokes.martin.and saved by the bell.word up son
Got the Angry Video Game Nerd 8 Bit game last night and so far have beaten the Pepsi man stage, its challenging but loving the game so far. Also I've been playing the Haunted House remake on the Atari 50th collection with my son
I tried progressing in Baldur's Gate 3, but I have thousands of quests and no clear direction. The city hides its secrets well...
Instead I jumped into Divinity 2 and I am actively choosing my Portal as it is so cozy.
I might play Alan Wake 2 a little more, but I think I had enough of Silent Hill 2 after just two hours.
What else... I could push further into the Burning Shores of The Forbidden West. Such a gorgeous game.
Well it's BF6,EA wrc and I'm also in a PoE2 mood as well..stinky cold typically as I have the week off so I'll just have to administer lots of PS5 healing for the week..have a great weekend folks 👍
I’ll be finishing up my play through of Deathloop which is a really good game. I went into it not knowing if I’d actually enjoy it but it turns out I do!
Yotei. Enjoying killing all the different bounties theres loads, just done about 10 of them in a row. Death Stranding 2 after
I'm honestly not sure yet. I platinumed Ghost of Yotei the other day and now I'm in that post great game blues. I'll probably end up poking at Honkai and FFXI
GFVGE (greetings fellow video game enthusiasts). Every October I say I’m going to play Luigi’s Mansion 3 but never get round to it. Well this year I actually am. It’s finally time to do some sucking.
Ballxpit, Yotei and Full Metal Schoolgirl demo
Hello gamer friends!
This week I managed to finish Metal Eden and am working on the platinum. Well worth the half price I paid for it. Wow! It’s cyberpunk Doom and the gameplay itself is much better than the demo I played months back. Glad I took a chance! On Brutal difficulty it feels like Doom Eternal mixed with GhostRunner.
Now on to * Cronos* and most likely small sessions of BallxPit; I’ll also shift back to Wuchang, which I set down for those other games.
Enjoy the weekend!
Alan Wake 2. I love the first one but this one is better in every aspect.
Have a great weekend!
I will be jumping on some Alien: Fire teams Elite. And will also be doing some duo games on Fortnite with my sons. Now that they have unlocked skins as Huggy Wuggy that's all they want to play! Happy Gaming All!
Finally reached Nibelheim in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Just imagining what I will find there. This game is so much bang for our buck. Also, continuing Assassin's Creed Shadows and it's the most chalenging of the RPG ones for me. But I'm prevailing.
I plan to advance on Blood Omen 2 and The Last of Us Part 1 as well. Let's move.
More GoY for me, I loved playing Jin in the first one he is a legend but I do prefer the murderous attitude of Atsu, instead of bowing after killing an enemy she just says pathetic or something similar 😂 Great protagonist!
Might get chance to try out my Neo Geo cart of Evercade too!
Happy gaming everyone
@gaston Play the FFXVI DLCs. They are set before the final mission (Origin), so, the ending remains the same. Both DLCs feature great combat, and the 2nd brings 2 new eikon movesets. They were instrumental for me to beat final fantasy mode. Rising Tides happens in a very beautiful locale and the story is very touching. I think you will enjoy them.
Well after finally getting covid last week im still not 100% but going to continue with ghost of yoti, enjoying it so far, also might play a few rounds of battlefield 6, did enjoy the campaign for it although very short.
I bought Outer Worlds Premium Edition, so started that last night. I'm playing on Very Hard, and am about 10 minutes into the first mission and already having a bit of difficulty because I am faced with two enemies and am finding it very hard to take them on! It'll probably be okay once I have levelled up a few times, but right now? Ob, boy... 😂
My mate is away today, but I'm hoping he'll be back tomorrow so that we can attempt another Master Horde run in Gears 5 as a trio with my youngest son. We actually managed to complete one last weekend on what was probably a harder map than we will be attempting next, but Master is meant for a team of 5, so attempting it as a trio is really challenging a good fun (and frustrating!)...
I've been playing Alone in the Dark on PS5. The puzzles are neat - I like that you can set it not to hold your hand. The pacing is tight and formulaic (but in a good way). The writing lacks any kind of punch - it really doesn't take long for David Harbor to get comfortable with what's going on and just go with the flow. There's never really that, "OMG, what the hell is that?" moment. I know the character's name isn't David Harbor, but that's another issue. I don't particularly like when games use both the voice and likeness of a well-known actor. The facial animation isn't nearly good enough to let the actor become the character, and his script isn't convincing - he's just that dude from Stranger Things. The combat reminds me of the first Silent Hill in some ways. Melee combat doesn't always work as expected, but it's functional. The gunplay is discount Resident Evil 2 Remake.
For $25, this was a great pick-up. It's shaping up to be a solid 6/10 horror game.
They see me rollin'. They hatin'.
(If you know, you know)
Update since last week
Ghost of Yotei - I'm loving this game. There are some epic moments in the story imo, and I'm closing in on the end. I've done all the side content and collectibles etc so now I can just enjoy the rest of the story 🙂
Battlefield 6 - Very fun to play, impressed with how Dice could turn things around from 2042 and it feels like this will be a game I play regularly for a long time. I plan to play the single player campaign, I'll update you when I do 🙂
Keeper - So, this game has so much potential but after playing for 20 minutes I feel like my Series S isnt really delivering the best experience and I want to enjoy this game at its best so I'll wait and see if it doesnt show up on PS5 in the future.
Also- I just wishlisted Halo for my PS5. We knew it was coming but still feels a bit… wierd?… seeing Halo on playstation. Anyway, that will probably be ***** awesome!
Hello again, y'all! This weekend I'm playing:
Switch:
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: slightly fewer than 20 spirits to go (all of them but one involve summoning, the other enhancing), so I should have a complete spirit list by the end of the year.
Animal Crossing New Horizons: I convinced myself to temporarily return to this game to check out my new fruit trees I planted several months ago 🤣 and to finish donating to all the Lloids at Harv's island that have been waiting for over two years that my island save has existed. I've already finished donating to... uh... one of them... 🤣. Thankfully, I make a ton of money from selling crops every three days, so it won't take too long.
Super Mario Maker 2: I'll be uploading a new course today, probably somewhat soon after I post this comment.
PS4:
Super Neptunia RPG: I've already played this one for a few hours and am massively enjoying it. All of my party members (Neptune, Noire, Blank) are slightly above Level 10 and I'm currently heading toward the country of Lowee to find an archive of books in search of one of the seven tomes. Current number of trophies: 6
Mobile:
Pokémon Sleep
Nearly Halloween so I'm playing Resident Evil Village. Really enjoying it!
PS5Pro - yet more Cyberpunk 2077 & Ghost of Tsushima (100+ hours combined so far and loving every minute of both). Also playing one chapter of Until Dawn each evening - what a complete yawn fest so far…I’ll carry on in the hope it improves but more in hope than expectation. Anyway, glad it’s a PS plus title and not a purchase.
XSX - yesterday’s announcement made me fire up Halo MCC and play through the Silent Cartographer level and also replayed a few levels of Halo Infinite -this morning - looks, sounds and plays great, especially in 120hz mode. Halo 1,2,3, Reach & Infinite all great games and definitely ripe for Unreal 5 upgrade/ports to PS5. Not bothered so much for 4&5 and ODST.
Happy gaming all, have a good one 👍
This weekend I’ll be attending a wedding several hours away from where I live. I won’t be gaming much. However, an update from last week: I finally wrapped up the platinum trophy for Ghost of Yotei. It was an excellent experience. With the little sliver of time I do have, Ball x Pitt will be taking up my time. It’s the perfect travel companion, and I was not expecting it to be as addicting as it is.
Second playthrough of Silent Hill f and Life Is Strange Remastered. Digging how LIS and the first Last Of Us have the exact same ending albeit one with a choice. Who'd have thought Chloe Price and Joel had so much in common?
Some Once upon a katamari and a wee bit HOTD2 Remake since it was only £13.99 (Actually dont mind these with the gyro aiming). Was gonna get Fast and Furious arcade but there's only 6 tracks, think ill wait and see how Wreckreation fares next week 👍Oh also been spamming some Eddy windmills in Tekken 3 😀
Ghost of Yotei. I feel like Atsu is much more menacing and badass on her quest for revenge than Jin was.
A real Onryō
I'm in the mood for something spooky, so I was planning on starting The Quarry. I've also been playing some Like a Dragon: Ishin along with Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac. And if there's time, maybe a bit of Hitman: World of Assassination and Kirby's Adventure.
I finally platinumed DYING LIGHT: The Beast so I picked up Borderlands 4 and started on that last night. Having played all of the Borderlands games, I had grown tired of the formula as, if you’ve played one of those games you’ve pretty much played them all. But I have to say, after just a few hours in to this one, they’ve really nailed it. There’s so much that Gearbox has improved on that this seems to be the very best iteration of the Borderlands ‘formula’.So, when time permits, that’s what I’ll be playing this weekend. Hopefully everyone has a great time w whatever they’re playing! CHEERS!
I'm still playing Far Cry Primal at the weekends, but during the week it's still Balatro, 90 hours spent so far, l think that's a successful PS Essential download
I'm 50 hours into Yotei and have just now beaten the Oni. Still have all the other Yotei 6 to get to. I love this game to pieces, but I'm giving myself a little break with God of War (2018) just to change pace for a few days.
Persona 3 Reload also arrived yesterday for my Switch 2. I put 10 hours into the demo last month and it's blown me away. P4G is one of my favorite games, but I was really disappointed in P5R (unpopular opinion: I felt the characters and story were too flat, especially compared to 4). I'm beyond happy that 3 is drawing me in the same way 4 did.
@Don_Quixote227 Have you played Metaphor Refantazio? I have that AND P3 Reload to get stuck into and hope that's just as good.
Tormented Souls 2 on PS5. Loved the first one
Final fantasy XIII on the PS3/ step 2 on the trophy guide. Just brutalised neochu with Vanille’s death skill and now farming gil for the weapons and accessories upgrades.
@1970sGamer I haven't, but I've heard really good things, of course. I'm probably going to wait for it to come to Switch 2 (or for Sony to release a fully portable handheld). I hope you have fun with it! It looks awesome.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom in the Mist, thoroughly enjoying it, as expected.
I'm still trying to finish up Trails of Cold Steel 4.
I just bought a Quest 3, but I'm waiting for the VR lenses I ordered to arrive in the mail before I even unbox it. Will be so liberating to not have to use glasses inside the headset anymore!
Other than that I've been playing a top-down isometric Soulslike called Sands of Aura. It's pretty neat. I especially like being able to continously configure my weapons without starting to upgrade new ones - a constant issue in many Soulslike games. Also the world is pretty interesting, being made up of multiple islands in the midst of a sea of sand, which you traverse with a sailboat.
@1970sGamer Thanks, I'll probably do P3R first. Unlike yourself I really enjoyed P5R but tapped out after about 70 hours of it.
Ball x Pit.
I cannot be stopped.
Resident Evil 3 Remake. I’m also playing a decent beat em game called Maiden Cops.
Getting through Robocop Rogue City slowly at last as I’m trying to get through my back log.
My mate sold me Silent Hill 2 remake, AC Mirage and AC Shadows for £50 so I’ve got a few more piling up 😂
Have a cracking weekend everyone 🍻
I finally broke down (pun most definitely intended!) & bought Broken Roads. I'm very early in (less than 10 hours), but it's much more text heavy than I thought it'd be - which, for me, is fantastic!! I'm really enjoying it - already stopped & went back a couple hours to redo a section I wasn't pleased with my initial choices. 👍🏽 😸
Holy moly I don't think I've seen anyone else express that similar opinion in regards to Persona 5 @Don_Quixote227. I've felt like a crazy person for years not liking P5 at all
Here's hoping you enjoy Persona 3 it's my personal favourite of the series~!
another weekend combo platter of Cronos New Dawn and Battlefield for me. Cronos is soooo good. Bloober team man!!!!
@StitchJones yes! I wasn’t really into BT games at all. Then I played the Silent Hill 2 remake ❤️❤️❤️
I finished Evil Within 2 last night and really enjoyed it.
Not sure what I'm going to start next, but there's quite a few games on my list that I want to play. I do want to do some of the Halloween stuff in MH Wilds and hop into TF2 for some of the Scream Fortress. There's also a Halloween Splatfest this weekend that I may hop in.
Batman The Enemy Within
Then moving over to finish off Robocop I played it when I had PS+ but bought it the other day for £8
@HallowMoonshadow I'm about to boot up P3R right now. I can't wait to get further into the game.
My biggest problem with P5R was that I couldn't connect with the characters the same way I could with P4G. Having the dungeon bosses basically be members of your group (not a spoiler since it's an early theme that lasts the game) was a stroke of genius. And having to overcome your insecurities (i.e. growing up) hit a much deeper and more subtle chord for me than Here is Big Bad Menace to Society- GO!
Granted, the gameplay is brilliant, but that can be said about any Atlus RPG. My personal favorite turn-based system. But I have too long a backlog to invest 120+ hours into a game that isn't firing on all cylinders for me.
I’ll be the one to admit it, I’m playing Pokémon Z-A and having a great time with it. I’ve also been throwing in a few random rounds of Ball X Pit here and there. Lastly, I try to squeeze in some Ghost of Yotei when the kids go to bed, but that’s been easier said than done lately.
For the first time in almost 10 years, I’m not playing Elder Scrolls Online. Well, this is the first weekend in which I’ve had access to play it and have not.
In fact, after being a day 1 player, I’ve finally decided to leave the game. It kinda sucks. But it’s for the greater good of my gaming life. I’ve skipped so many anticipated releases (Dragon’s Dogma II, Ghost of Tsushima, Black Myth, etc.) due to my ESO obsession. Needless to say, it’s been a weird 5 days not playing.
Anyway, I’m playing Echoes of the End now. Will jump into Ghost of Yōtei after.
Reach for PSVR 2, BF6 and probably some more VR with Into the Radius or Alien Rogue Incursion
@GamingGod Silent hill 2 remake was fantastic. I wish I would have waited to play it for my halloween game. The atmosphere is perfect for that. But Cronos is really delivering in that regard too, so all is good
PS5 - Ninja Gaiden 4, Full Metal Schoolgirl, Tekken 3
Im carrying on with Yotei which is very involving and Im loving every minute.
I've also taken a look at test drive solar crown as its £17 in the sale and on season 4, so its had a lot of updates. If you can make it through the god awful opening 20 minutes and overlook some pretty rough elements, the actual racing and island to explore are pretty fun.
Im also starting out in Skate and like what Ive seen so far.
Whatever your playing this weekend, I hope you have fun!
Finished Pokemon Z-A this morning (and the final season of Resident Alien, as much as that is not a game). And after that, there was a new Katamari game. I will be out of town in a moment for the next two days. I will bring the Switch 2, sooooo… maybe a round of Hades 2 and Absolum to complement Katamari? Or maybe just Katamari. Katamari is such pure good to me.
@StitchJones cronos is certainly on my list too
Finally finished Hollow Knight again, and platinumed Hogwarts Legacy. I’m still “between games” and figuring out what to get next, so I’m playing the fantastic Steamworld Dig and OG Doom (The Master Levels) at the moment, which aren’t actually great, but I’ve only got a couple of levels left
@AhmadSumadi I lost count of the number of fantastic games that I never played or at best ended up in my backlog because of my 10 year obsession with Destiny (1&2). GaaS done right are so much fun and so involving - but at the detriment of experiencing a variety of games. Enjoy your new-found freedom!
Still playing and enjoying Yotei. The writing had been really good across the main quest and side quests with interesting turns. About 44 hours in and only 3/6 members killed. Pokémon ZA has me interested, so I started playing Scarlet which I had but never played and on the switch 2 it’s really fun so far. Enjoying the freedom to compete the game how you want and just catching Pokémon out in the open.
@GamingGod I hear ya. My list is huge. This onslaught from the GTA affect is great. I almost feel like I'll be set for games until next gen in 2 short years haha
I still have the same "WISHFUL THINKING" list from last week on top of playing cronos/battlefield.
Im ready for the next soulsborne done by fromsoft themselves. And still have an immense itch for a modernized TLOU multiplayer suite. Just standard TDM and such like the 1st, not some games as service thing.
Deltarune for me. I've been playing it on and off, now having mostly just started chapter 3.
Borderlands 4 and Unrailed with the GF.
I also want to see if I can get The Crew Unlimited working at some point, maybe this weekend.
Last weekend I finished Mafia Old Country which I really liked. Gaming-wise I´m not usually keen to play something spooky/horror game around Halloween time, but this time I felt like I want to play something like that and picked up Still Wakes the Deep from current psn sale and already finished it during the week - short but great experience to be honest. As not-native speaker myself, english in this game was really painful for me, but apart from that I enjoyed this game a lot. really can´t remember when I played last time this kind of game /walking simulator kind of game/...in the same sale I also picked up Scorn to be on the spooky wave now so I´ll be trying this game out this weekend and possibly will start Spiderman Remastered too.
Yeah, hopefully some sport in TV as well. F1, darts, El Clásico tomorrow...let´s see.
Have a nice weekend and happy gaming, everyone!
After a long, hard work-week I'm ready to relax with some Digimon Story Time Stranger. The Nostalgia is kicking in! But I owe Atsu some attention as well so I'll play some Ghost of Yotei by tomorrow.
Heard Halo is coming to PS5. Thought it was "Just 4 games" 😏
Happy gaming PushSquares!
PS5: The Witcher 3, my second play, finished it 10 years ago, waited and decided to play again. Surprised how many things changed with updates, new quests, gears, and how many things I actually missed playing first time. Love it.
PS5: Broken Sword Remaster, I have huge sentiment to both 1 & 2, next to Witcher and Skyrim this is my comfort zone
3DS: Professor Layton and Curious Village, to challenge my brain and actually relax.
Angry Birds Seasons (Windows Phone) - Nearly done with all the Halloween levels now.
Flowerz (Windows Phone) - Around the halfway mark I think. Still a great time killer on the can.
I'm still playing Ghost of Yotei! PS5 Pro playing on Ray tracing Pro.
Paradise City and Peppa Pig with my 4 year old!
Zelda Tears of Kingdom S2
Wolverine PS3
Dead Reset , which I think is Resistance prequel lol!
@Marquez for sure. I’d always sworn to never getting into MMOs because I never wanted to ever have to pay a monthly fee to play a game (obviously, this is now how it works), and knew that my personality would cause me to get too imbedded in the world of it if I happened to like it. This is what ESO did to me for a long time.
I’m playing Echoes of the End right now and it’s a 7/10 game (Metacritic says 6.6/10). It’s every challenging due to no animation canceling in combat (a complaining many reviews have) but I’m fine with that. Animation cancel isn’t a real thing a person can do. I understand this is fantasy but still…
Can’t wait to finish Echoes of the End and get to Yōtei. After that, Dragon’s Dogma II. I’m gonna lost in fantasy worlds for at least the next 6 months.
@AhmadSumadi I worry that jumping into Arc Raiders at launch is going to lead to all the issues we’ve been discussing - we will see… hopefully I can leave room for other games.
I got the Yotei platinum this weekend as planned and it’s a top quality experience. Enjoy!
Finished Clair obscur the other day with as thorough of a play through in a single go through as I could do. Just wow. What a game. At 50$ price point no less. It may hope other devs take notice. They won’t… but one can hope.
I’m torn between starting death stranding or Batman Arkham asylum now.
I am continuing to love Ghost of Yotei. I’ve got over seventy hours in but I trying to tackle everything I can find so half the Yotei Six are still alive though a lot of other, lesser evils have been addressed. The Onryo effect (which terrifies enemies for a few seconds and maybe calls the wolf to you) is a thing of beauty in heated close combat though I am also fine with surreptitiously cutting throats or killing enemies from afar with a bow or a rifle.
Today is Liberty Day in Helldivers. One can visit Earth and watch fireworks from orbit, but you can only read about the parades and public dissident executions. The traditional free gear seems to be tied to a damn near impossible major order though I don’t think for a second we will leave Liberty Day empty handed.
The current major order sets a sadistic one day, 40 million kill target for the constitution (an antique bolt action rifle with a bayonet). Most are ignoring it and using modern weapons but some of us are picking up the gauntlet so it’s not outside the realm of possibility we will defy Arrowhead’s expectations and win the major order.
