Grand Theft Auto V is 12 years old and has sold more than 215 million copies, but as of today, it is officially a brand new release in two regions: Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The game was unable to receive an official, legal release in the two territories due to a ban on the depiction of drug use, violence, and sex. Fans got around this restriction by importing physical copies and buying it on a different region's PS Store, but now an official release carrying a 21+ age rating is available.

A Saudi Arabian firm named Advanced Initiative Company will now act as the local distributor for Take-Two products, which will see series like WWE 2K, NBA 2K, and Red Dead Redemption handled by them. Presumably, next year's GTA 6 will also be handled by the Advanced Initiative Company in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Released in two regions with a joint population of over 40 million people, GTA 5 will likely add a few million more sales to its current total of 215 million.

And this is why they are in no hurry to release GTA6.
I still think that it'll release to coincide with the PS6 so they can maximise the cross platform. Basically the same trick they pulled with the PS4.
Do they not already sell WWE 2K in Saudi Arabia? I would have thought they would considering SA pays WWE many millions for shows out there each year? (Or am I just misreading the article).

Im not really interested in GTA6 until I know its 60fps on Pro, but I can't see them not releasing until 2028 (or maybe later) to coincide with PS6. Maybe im wrong.
The problem in waiting for the PS6 is if you have the utter chaos and/or unavailability like when the PS5 first came out. I can't so sick to death of it waited a good couple of years before picking one up.
@LifeGirl so you predict GTA6 will be delayed for almost 2 years? Ofcourse eventually it will come out on PS6 as seperate edition. You dont need to be big brain to predict that )

40M pop and a few more million sales. I mean, I think 5%-10% of the pop buying it is a lot.
Inflating game sales by selling copies of the game cheaper than the in-game currency is a genius masterstroke by R*.
A few more million sales will be tacked on now. I would be in no rush to release GTA 6 either if I was making a killing on a 12 year old game
