@PaperAlien How does the game break down in terms of survival, combat and exploration? Are they fairly evenly split, or is there more emphasis on say, survival?

I’ve started playing Borderlands 4 again, after having not touched it in quite a while. I had the super deluxe version (got a good deal on Loaded) so have some new vault hunters to try out.
I want to buy myself a new game, but honestly can’t decide out of Blood of Dawnwalker, Control Resonant, Dune Awakening, or Wolverine. I’ll probably play all of them eventually lol, but which to buy first? 🤔

Not really surprised considering how much space Rebirth took up. Makes me wonder what the install footprint will be for GTA 6 😳

I’m somewhat torn on my next game purchase - it was out of Dawnwalker, Wolverine or Control Resonant. I enjoyed the first Control game, so am leaning towards Resonant now, and the £50 price point helps!

Seriously thinking of buying this game again! I bought it on Xbox Series X originally, but I now have the pro. May go for the bundle that includes base game and this DLC.

I’m going away in a week’s time, so I don’t really want to start a new game now then have to drop it for a week. Same reason why I haven’t yet bought Dawnwalker. Saying that, I want a new game to get stuck in to when I get back, and at the moment it’s out of Wolverine, Dawnwalker, or Control Resonant 🤔

I think this will actually hurt sales. October 1st was a good 7 weeks before the juggernaut that is GTA 6. Now releasing just 2 weeks after GTA when a lot of players will be too busy playing GTA still.

I wish there was a demo. I generally like roguelikes but never clicked with The binding of Isaac. Also the asking price (around £35 I think) seems a bit steep for the type of game it is.

Ive been playing pretty much the same games for a good few weeks now - Ghost recon Wildlands, Super Mario Galaxy, and Star Wars Zero Company. I’m undecided on my next game purchase - it was possibly going to be Wolverine, but now might get Dawnwalker instead. Wolverine doesn’t strike me as a £70 game, so may wait for a sale.

@Vertere I’m not too bothered about the timer. Have heard that it just affects the story - whether you save your family or not - and apparently you can still carry on playing anyway after the 30 days. I generally prefer open worlds so will probably pick Dawnwalker over Wolverine. I think in Wolverine the combat will get repetitive. Also it doesn’t sound like it should have been a £70 game.

I hadn’t yet preordered the game as I was waiting for reviews first. Now I see it sitting on a metacritic rating of 78 I’m in two minds on whether I should just go ahead and order it, or instead go for Dawnwalker, which has a 83 rating 🤔

I played Zelda OOT on the N64 and loved it. Haven’t played any of the subsequent remasters, but this remake looks amazing. Needless to say this will be day 1 for me, as will GTA 6 be as well!

This feature is getting earlier and earlier 😂 I had choice paralysis this week when deciding whether to buy either Dawnwalker or Onimusha…and ended up buying neither lol. I’ll probably just wait for Wolverine now. My games are the same as last week, so still playing Ghost Recon Wildlands, Star Wars Zero company, and Mario Galaxy.

I have this on the Series X but I’m tempted to buy it again for my pro. The only thing is there are so many games coming out right now I probably wouldn’t be able to give DD2 the time it deserves.

I don’t know who’s in charge of Sony’s PR dept but they need sacking ASAP. Sony are getting incredibly arrogant and it’s turning gamers away in droves.

Onimusha seems to have a slight edge over Dawnwalker on the aggregate review sites, so if I had to pick one to play first it would be this. Will no doubt play both eventually though 😂

I’ve already done 2 normal play throughs on TW3, so I’m just gonna have fun with it this time and use some of these new accessibility options.

Star Wars Zero Company (PS5) I didn’t fall in love with the game straight away, but after a few hours I’m now really starting to enjoy it. Once you start unlocking things like focus points, the armoury, black market etc the game starts to open up.
Ghost Recon Wildlands (PS5) Despite playing this game on and off for years, I’ve never actually finished it! I always forget just how big it is. Each area has a main boss, but also sub bosses beneath them. I’m determined to finish it this time 😂
iRacing arcade (PS5) Nice palette cleanser between other, bigger games. Good little racing game, though the AI is sometimes annoying af.
Super Mario Galaxy (NS2) Still having lots of fun playing this for the first time. I’m playing them in order, so once I finish this I’ll move on to Galaxy 2. I’m also going to be watching the Super Mario Galaxy movie over the weekend, though I’ve heard mixed reviews on it.
Onimusha Way of the Sword demo (PS5) The full game is out next week, so downloaded the demo last night to give it a go.

Update: I watched the Mario Galaxy movie today. I really enjoyed it, thought it was better than the pretty average first movie. The fact that I didn’t reach for my phone during the movie speaks volumes 😂 loved all the references to various Nintendo games, and even one to LOTR! I watched it in 4K, which looked amazing.

I originally bought it on my Series X, though am tempted to buy it again for my pro 🤔

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, in the right hands many games run absolutely fine at 30fps. Just off the top of my head, I’ve played AC Shadows, Death Stranding 2 and Forza Horizon 6 in their “quality” modes.

I was impressed with the extended look, just not as much as I expected to be. Could have done with more gameplay and less cut scenes. Still a day 1 purchase for me though.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this leads to a spike of returning players to GTA 5 in the coming days.

Does anyone know if the PS5 pro support includes PSSR 2?

This will tie me over until the PS6 version 😂

@GamingGod Japan is a great setting, and the game looks gorgeous, but they really need to revamp the structure. The game still gives out money and stupidly fast cars like there’s no tomorrow. “Events” like speed zones and danger signs get boring very quickly. I played it solidly for a few weeks, maybe a month, but then dropped it and haven’t gone back.

Hope it’s better than the massively overrated Horizon 6.

Ghost Recon Wildlands I’ve got right back into this since the recent 4K/60fps patch, and I’m loving it! There’s nothing more satisfying than using “sync shot” with your AI teammates, and taking out 4 enemies simultaneously 😂
On Switch 2 I’m playing Super Mario Galaxy. I never had the Nintendo Wii so the galaxy games completely passed me by. I just bought the Galaxy 1& 2 bundle so am playing them for the first time. Needless to say, I’m having a blast.

New cars is always nice, but I’m more interested in the 3 new world circuits. What are they?- it doesn’t say in the article or video 🤔

On Switch 2 I’m playing Splatoon raiders and Pokémon Pokopia, on PS5 some AC Black flag resynced, and on Series X Ghost Recon Wildlands.

How long before you can pay to remove ads, or if you have PS+ there’ll be no ads 🤔

I only played it for about an hour yesterday so too early to judge it. It definitely needs an increase text size option though!

I’ll just have to cherry pick which games I buy. Whichever I don’t I’ll just pick up at a later date, probably in a sale. My biggest enemy isn’t money but time, finding the time to play all these games. It doesn’t help that I’m going away for a week in September so will lose a week’s play, but the games ain’t going anywhere so will still be there waiting for me when I get back 😂

I can’t stop playing Splatoon Raiders! It’s just so much fun and addictive. I’m now level 25 and have started doing “spicy” raids now too.
Still playing AC Black Flag Resynced and docked. I was playing Halo campaign evolved, but when I loaded up the game yesterday it had lost my save progress and reverted me to a save from a few hours earlier 😡 and tbh I can’t be bothered to play through it again.

Hope we get a native 4K/60 fps patch on consoles. Let’s see the great visuals really shine!

I don’t know why but I just couldn’t get into DL2, which is strange because I loved the first game.

Splatoon Raiders OMG this game is so much fun! I’ve always wanted the Splatoon gameplay but in a full single player game, and this delivers in spades.
AC Black Flag resynced Trying to take more forts, recruit more officers for the Jackdaw, and progress the main story.
Also still playing Docked, and Mouse PI for hire.

I reckon Horizon 3 will also be next year. 2027 is already looking great!

Just got home from work and wanted to play AC Black Flag resynced - a single player game - only to get the message “Can’t use this content. Can’t connect to the server to verify your license” !!! F*** you Sony 😡

Wildlands is probably my favourite out of the Ghost Recon games. Would be happy to dive back in.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought Origins was only “free” with the deluxe version of Legends? 🤔

Good to see Ubisoft are on top of things with this first patch, considering the game has only been out a week. I’m loving it so far, though my naval combat is a bit rusty 😂

What better way to spend this hot summer, than on the high seas as a pirate! I’m obviously talking about AC Black flag resynced I loved it first time around on the PS4, and now it just looks even more amazing on my pro. Also finally pulled the trigger this week on Mouse P.I. for hire. The art style is obviously the main draw here, and actually playing it in person it doesn’t disappoint.
Also playing Docked, and The adventures of Elliot.
After almost 200 hours I think my time with Crimson desert may be at an end. I came up against a brick wall, with the hugely annoying boss Storm crusher. Honestly don’t know if I’ll be carrying on.

I remember playing the original on my shiny new PS4 and loved it. Have the deluxe version downloaded and ready to go on my pro. Roll on tomorrow!

I let mine lapse a few weeks ago, which was before Sony’s announcement re physical discs. Unfortunately I haven’t had any offers from them yet to tempt me back. If they offer me a good deal I’ll probably take it.
