I forgot just how big Horizon Forbidden West is! On my second play through right now with around 32 hours played and I’m still nowhere near the end. Mainly mixing it up between main and side quests and really enjoying it.
Also playing Astral Ascent which is also very good so far.
Not planning on buying anymore new games now until Expeditions (A Mudrunner game) comes out.

@GKT I used to love Future cop LAPD! My mate would come round at the weekend and we’d play it until the early hours!

Re solo play. Some people saying it can be hard playing solo, so I’m guessing you can just turn the difficulty down? I would have no shame in doing that 😂

I also noticed today that there is a 3 hour trial for Alan Wake 2. Can’t remember if it was a PS+ premium perk or for everyone. I still haven’t played AW2 so will definitely give the trial a go.

I hope it’s good but will definitely wait for reviews first. The last couple of Ubi games have been a somewhat mixed bag - Prince of Persia is good, but Avatar FoP was boring af.

After failing to finish the main story a few years ago (sidetracked by other games) I’m now on my second play through. I had forgotten all the controls, skills etc to pick up where I left off, so decided to start afresh. Also picked the Burning shores DLC in a recent sale, so hope to go straight into that after the main campaign. Really enjoying it, and the game looks stunning, even in performance mode.

Is the upgrade path available indefinitely, or is it time-limited? I have the PS4 version and will upgrade at some point, but don’t plan on replaying it any time soon and don’t want it taking a huge chunk of PS5 SSD space.

@koverby sorry, I do 🤷🏻‍♂️ I do stream music, but also occasionally buy CDs, like The Beatles remasters I mentioned.

Some of us still buy CDs - I got The Beatles Red & Blue albums remastered recently - and DVDs, or in my case Blu-rays and 4K.

@Doctor_BK yes I’m enjoying it thanks. I can’t remember exactly why I didn’t finish it last time, I think I got sidetracked with other (new & shiny 😂) games. I’m wondering if I should just concentrate on the main story this time though, as if I do all the side quests it increases the chance of suffering burnout and then not finishing the game…again!

Have started a new play through of Horizon Forbidden West, partly thanks to Avatar Frontiers of Pandora! Let me explain…I had been playing Avatar but tbh - as beautiful as the world is - the game itself is just a bit boring, and it had me yearning to play HFW, which I never quite finished first time round. So to re-acquaint myself with the HFW controls I decided to start again from scratch. Hopefully I’ll finish the game this time, and play the Burning Shores expansion too. Oh, and Avatar FoP has been indefinitely shelved 😂

I have the standard white controller and a crimson red one. I use one whilst the other is charging. But yeah, a much improved battery life would still be very welcome.

Loved Kaitlyn in Booksmart and Short term 12. I’m sure she’ll do the character justice.

So it’s pretty obvious that the top 3 is going to be BG3, SM2, and Gollum 😉

Playing Avatar FoP, and not sure what I think of it so far. Yes it looks gorgeous, but certain game elements are annoying me. Having to find certain foods for quests can feel like a chore. Even having to regularly eat yourself is irritating. I also sometimes find that it’s not always clear where you have to go or who you have to speak to for a quest. I’m hoping that once I get my Ikran and the world opens up I’ll start enjoying it more.

No more choosing between graphics OR performance…I want BOTH! 🙂

I’m an invert Y player and have had to hold off playing Teardown until they added it. Shame it wasn’t there at launch, but at least I can play it now.

The way I see it, it’s been 10 years since GTAV so another 18-24 months ain’t a big deal. It will probably be those last few weeks/months before release that will be the most excruciating.

Looking at those graphics this has 30fps written all over it 😂

“Ultimate” edition which still doesn’t include NG+

After playing the trial I ended up buying it over the weekend as it’s currently reduced. I’ve heard it can become a bit of a grind after a while, but so far (around 3-4 hours played) I’m enjoying it. They should have released it for about £50, charging £70 for a new IP was never a good idea.

I bought BG3 last weekend, FOMO playing a big part. Have to admit that I’m struggling to get on with it. It’s still early days, so hopefully it will click with me at some point. Have downloaded the Immortals of Aveum trial so will give that a go. Still playing Super Mario Wonder.
UPDATE: Well, the IOV trial worked…have now purchased the full game. Went for the deluxe version @£35.99, only £1 dearer than the standard version.

Ideal scenario would be a cheap upgrade path for existing users, say £/$10 max, and simultaneously release TLOU Part 1 on PS+ extra.

Downloading the trial now. If I like it I’ll probably buy it, especially at £35

@Throb 100% agree. The first thing I did was go into the options to invert Y…only to find there is no option 🙁 have to shelve the game now until they patch it in.

I hadn’t even heard of this game until today. Then I find out not only is it coming tomorrow, but it’s a “free” game on PS+ extra! Happy days 🙂

I’ve been playing this on & off since launch, but especially the last few months with the 2.0 update & Phantom Liberty. Great game, and love the futuristic world they created. All we need now is NG+

I finally pulled the trigger on BG3, which I downloaded overnight. Looking forward to playing this highly acclaimed game, especially as I also have a week off work now 🙂

I think I may finally pull the trigger on BG3. I’ve just finished Cyberpunk Phantom liberty, and close to finishing Spider-Man 2, so want a new game to play.

I blood well hope not! Don’t want it to be held back (technically) because of a last-gen release. Let’s face it, GTA 6 won’t release until next autumn/fall at the earliest, by which time the PS4 will be 11 years old!

This actually looks pretty good. I wouldn’t go so far as saying I’m excited for it, but it’s definitely on my radar 🙂

I’m hoping for Christmas we get The Last of us part 1. It’s been out over a year now.

I had an issue a few days ago where I got stuck in the scenery and couldn’t swing/jump/walk out of it so had to reload my last checkpoint 🙄 I imagine it’s been sorted now

Another 10/10 game?!? What a year it’s been for games. I guess I’ll add this to my backlog, along with BG3.
