Claws of Awaji, the first expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows, is out now on PS5.
The DLC promises to wrap up a few storylines that were left dangling by the end of the base game, while also whisking Naoe and Yasuke off to the titular island — a brand new location that's yours to explore.
Ubisoft says that the expansion is roughly 10 hours long, which might come as a relief to players who have spent god-knows how many hours trekking across Shadows' massive open world.
The plot revolves around a new faction called the Sanzoku Ippa, so you can expect to be tasked with killing off its leaders who are no doubt scatted across the island.

Players will, of course, be rewarded with new abilities and gear, while Naoe gets to play around with a new weapon type in the agile Bo staff.

I started AC Shadows last week, so I'm still very far from the DLC. But, as with all ACs, I will play it and do everything.
Just in time to compete with Ghost of Yotei, what a coincidence 🤔
No time right now! Currently playing Borderlands 4, Hades 2 next week, then Ghost of Yotei the week after! It could be a while 😂
The main game is just way too big for me. I'm still going back to Valhalla and Mirage, and will be dipping in and out of Shadows for 5 years + no doubt.
Heck I have not even started the Syndicate DLC's yet. Still playing that game as well.
Too many side activities and collectathons, which I find quite enjoyable but it's not compelling enough to stop me diverting to other new games.
So I tend to play on and off sporadically over years.
@3Above be amazed if you could make a 10hour dlc last 3 weeks..
@Uromastryx With the short amount of gaming time I get i honestly could.
But I meant that since the review embargo for Yotei is up next week they probably wanted this DLC out ahead of the hype.
@3Above same for myself actually, is the embargo really lifting that early, they must be super confident
Pre-ordered so its free for me and yes i shell be dipping in later when i have the time.
Feels kind of wild that I am looking forward to this DLC more than Yotei. I will pick up Yotei soon, but it just reminds me a lot of Tsushima, which I played 5 years ago. The stories between Shadows and Yotei are also basically the same.
@Uromastryx Yeah Next week Thursday, a full week before release. They seem very confident. I'm excited!
Meh..base game is boring as hell..
And its buggy as all hell..
