Silent Hill 2 and Tekken 3? Good month.

I’ve been wanting to play the PS5 version of Until Dawn but couldn’t justify buying it, so this is good for me atleast.

Silent Hill 2 and V Rising? Wow, Sony is delivering this month.

As someone who owns all consoles this gen, Switch 2 excluded, I believe Sony with PS Plus Extra offers the best value of all of them.

I’ve already got the fantastic Silent Hill 2, great addition for those that haven’t.

But I’ve been wanting to play ‘V Rising’ for ages, waiting for a decent enough sale, and the others look interesting too. Good month!

Like the article says, more games are expected to be confirmed in the official reveal later today. But I think that's a solid start — my nostalgia for Tekken 3 might be powerful enough to knock me out.

I think I would actually play all of the leaked games this month as i own none of them. God my backlog is getting worse

Chat, V Rising is meant to be really good right?

@Oram77 I've been playing it since launch, and it has free Halloween DLC at the moment. It's kind of like Diablo meets survival/crafting. It's got a very fun game-play loop and can be played either solo or co-op/pvp.

Some decent games there and hopefully some more unannounced. For me personally I will be playing Silent Hill 2 and Until Dawn.

Tekken 3, baby. Now we're just waiting for the best game in the series- Tekken 5 (and Tekken 4 and Tag 1 would be nice too)

Definitely up for V Rising. Played Tekken 3 not long ago for RetroAchievements so the plat should be a doddle.

@EfYI As Dusk Falls isn't a horror game though?

Tekken 3 is the best Tekken imo. I wonder how they got around the licensing issue with Gon? I suspect that they will have deleted him.

Do hope there is more though, the constant dwindling of numbers each month has had very little coverage. compared to what we was getting around the time of the ps+ rebranding, we currently get about half the number of titles per month.

hopefully there is at least another 4 titles in extra, even if they're poor, filler titles, that number cannot continue to drop

@EfYI It's more a crime drama although fair play it's a solid month for us subscribers and will download it and V Rising too. Could have sworn though one of the actors looks like Joshua Jackson in the game poster!

Wasn’t As Dusk Falls published by XBOX? Is that the first XBOX published title to make it to the subscription service?

This is a really good month, with several games piquing my interest! I’ll definitely give V Rising a download.

i was waiting for until dawn to go on sale but this also works. and i loved tekken 3 so much so can't wait to play that again.

I need to stop buying games lol. Almost every month at least one of the games is one I had bought in the last 6+ months. This time, V Rising. Oh well.

On the flip side, I keep seeing Neva on sale and I just keep saying to myself, "I just have this FEELING it's gonna be on PS+ eventually. Hold off." We'll see if I'm right.

Never played a Silent Hill game and never pulled the trigger on this one because the Pro issues so this’ll be a good test to see if I click with these games. Also never pulled the trigger on Until Dawn because it never hit a sale price I would buy it at so this is good news for me. It’s my favorite horror game so I’m excited to play it again.

@Veritas7Ax this is why I only buy games when they’re on super sale. Indie games for less than 10 or AAA less than 20. I won’t be too upset when it eventually gets thrown into Plus or Gamepass.

Currently playing Banishers, then I’m gonna play Alan Wake 2, then I’m gonna play Silent Hill 2. PS is killing it lately…

@Stevemalkpus Even though Microsoft owns the As Dusk Falls IP, the game was actually self-published by Interior/Night on PlayStation. The Xbox and PC versions, on the other hand, were published by Xbox Game Studios. As Dusk Falls was technically the first of the Xbox games to go multiplatform, before Hi-Fi Rush

Yep, this is a super solid tip and I agree with you completely. I waited V Rising out for a really long while, but finally pulled the trigger a couple months ago. It was 50% off so I guess not too bad.

I just need a hint more restraint lol.

@EfYI Ive played a few hours of As Dusk Falls on Gamepass and it's got a great story. looking forward to seeing it through to the end.

I dropped down from premium to essential earlier in the year. Ngl, this is the first time since that they’ve added a game I would have played - Silent Hill 2. Oh well, another year or so and it will be on essential 😂

I always pick up a scary game for Halloween and was going to buy Silent Hill 2 this year so this is a very good month for me! I will inevitably wuss out half way through but I like getting in the spirit of things.

Good month for me but as I said earlier with the partial leak, the number of titles is unacceptable, 8 in total across the 2 tiers when we used to get double that is crap. Should be a minimum of a dozen across both tiers, don't need to be all bangers either.

Not a fan of them re-adding titles, especially when there is so few, does nothing but hinder the people that have been subscribed long term.

Wasn't yakuza an essential or been on extra before?

@VeldinX Tomb Raider's 29th anniversary is next week (October 25th) and in recent years there's been annual anniversary celebrations so it might be the Tomb Raider social media accounts and blog that announce the timing of TR Anniversary added to PS+ Premium rather than Sony.

@get2sammyb Soul Caliber 3 is also missing in the Blog post, which they did show during the SoP together with Tomb Raider and Tekken 3. So 2 Premium games "missing".

Ive got silent hill 2 nothing else im interested in there premium is a bit of a joke one game a month if its 3 games as someone mentioned thats ok though essential on the other hand has been great this month even though I bought Alan wake 2

Is it worth playing with Yakuza Like a Dragon if you haven't played any of the other games in the series?

@UltimateOtaku91 is it a perfect starting point? No. But, it’s worth playing IMO. It does reference and have reveals that hit harder or at all if you have played the other games. That being said, I really think it’s a solid starting point because it’s the start of a new main lead. Ichiban is the most lovable dork in the world so I hope you try it out my man! And its turn base combat is really fun tbh. I actually started with 0, played 7 (which is this game) then went from 1 through 6 then a second replay of 7.

V rising and Wizard with a gun for me when I get round to them, still heavily invested in B4 and BF6 is awsome. I simply can't agree that PS offers the best service when Xbox are putting 6+ day one launch games each month for the next twelve months onto GP. Absolutely baffles me that people cling to that opinion never mind write it.

@CWill97 Thanks for the reply, I have been looking at this series for a while and want to give it a serious playthrough but the amount of games kinda put me off. But, I originally said the same about the Trails games and now it's one of my favourite series. I will definitely be giving this a go then next week, hopefully I can get into it as I hear its a turn based which I much prefer in games.

V rising is a brilliant game. If anybody has not played this yet be warned..it will eat away your hours like nothing. Its very addictive.

@UltimateOtaku91 the thing is a lot of people don’t start games at the first installment of many franchises. You can always go back and play the other games if/when you fall in love with the series. I’ve seen you comment a lot on here over the years (I’m a creeper I know) and can pretty confidently say I think you’ll find at least some enjoyment in it. It’s not perfect by any mean but it’s made with a lot of love. It honestly took RGG a lot of balls to switch from the popular brawler series to a turn base one in this game. Yakuza is a very hard series to find an entry point in if you don’t know where to look. But Yakuza: Like A Dragon is a great spot.

I can’t remember if Yakuza: Like A Dragon has an English voice dub but I highly suggest playing in Japanese with subtitles. Usually I don’t say “100% listen to this”, but if you do decide to play more, Kiryu’s English voice is so jarringly different than the character it’s crazy 😂😂

The amount of games isn't really relevant. If you enjoy it, 8 or 9 games in a series can be an amazing thing.

I started with Yak 3 in 2020, played 0,1,2,4,5,6 almost immediately one after the other, then LAD on PS4 & 5 (platted on both PS4 & 5). Judgement (PS4&5) Lost Judgment(PS4&5), Ishin (PS4&5), The Man Who Erased his Name (PS4&5) LAD: Infinite Wealth (PS4&5) and Pirate Yakuza.. on PS5 with a PS4 playthrough to come as platinum 400 and have loved them all and in 5 years RGG has become the one studio I will pre-order the game regardless.

Worst case you try it and it's not for you. But give it a try, I'm a fan, the pic and username are fairly obvious hints and we love it for a reason

Silent Hill 2 Remake, for my money, is this best thing ever created in the video game medium.

Play it on Hard is my only recommendation (it's really a bit too easy on Normal).

Plus, spooky season. Enjoy.

Premium is lookin rough these days, my god.

My Premium sub expired two months ago. Not renewing. Even Extra isn't worth it at the moment. Maybe in a year or so, when I've whittled down my backlog a bit.
