Man they are just drip feeding games worse than Nintendo now for PS Plus Premium. Sony has so many first party games they could do but they're just so slow trying to drain people of their Premium subs lol

That’s a pretty solid month overall! There are a lot of great games in this list.

Crow country and conscript are solid adds. Have also been curious about the fate samurai series but never bit as JRPGs are always a gamble for me. Might have to buy in for a month

Premium is a waste if your in it for old games at this point, however, if you cloud stream it still has some value

Actually a pretty decent month. Might finally play a new WWE game after all these years even though they are so different from what I'm used too back in the day now.

I still don't see how people are surprised Sony isn't doing much for the Premium part of the subscription. I have always thought they just do the classic games just because enough people have wanted/complained about not being able to play them on Modern Consoles but they still don't care enough about releasing a lot of them because they want people to play current/recent games and not old ones.

I do like playing classic games here and there(Rogue Galaxy, Kessen III and Battlefront 2 which are some of my favorite games ever and I play on PS3/PS5) but the Classic part of PS Plus has always just seemed like a add on they will never support enough to make it worth it.

Garbage list I've just bought wwe 2k25 with all dlc I'm glad I don't subscribe to extra or premium both are pretty terrible I'd rather buy my games anyway than pay for this

This looks like a poor month and unless Green Hell has fixed its woeful PS5 performance issues there is hardly anything here even worth adding to the 'library'. Note to site editor: you do in fact have a review up of the mispelled Fate/Samurai Remnant.

Honestly validates my decision of not renewing my subscription last month when it ran out. There’s a couple games of interest in Extra but Premium continues being absolutely pathetic.

not a great month, but needs to be taken in context: i've got a backlog of PS plus games from June onwards ive not had time for, including AAAs like Diablo IV and Life of Pi and replaying Spider-Man but on PS5. Also just gone and picked up Hollow Knight, reminding me of how good the back catalogue is.
i've justified Premium on the basis of streaming for convenience, particularly on my Portal, but now remote play is so good, i rarely use it. Also, Sony need to get Portal streaming out of beta and expand to the full PS Plus catalogue. Subscribers should look across a full 12 month period to work out whether they are getting VFM.

Premium is the same as always, a small selection of various different styles of game. It’s not meant to have every game appeal to every person.

People always moaning like they’re expecting a PS version of Gamepass with first party titles being made available on Day 1.

Absolute dross. With Ghost of Yotei and Battlefield 6 on the way I think I'll pause my subscription for a bit and just pay the most basic fee to play online.

Nothing for me this month which is totally fine with all the new releases. Highly recommend Fate/Samurai though, was probably my game of the year for 2023.

I see the reverse Oliver Twists are already hard at work in the comments section. So being overly picky is a bad thing but willingly paying for something and then being glad you're disappointed with the selection because you've got too many games to play is totally reasonable and normal then? How curious.

I dropped from premium to essential a few months ago. I have zero regrets.

@themightyant that's a good point I forgot it's necessary to cloud stream. That does offer value. Regarding game lubrary: it's not that an expected slate of monthly games is missing. It's that what they have added is pretty mundane an offering as a whole.

I've had my eye on The Invincible for a while now, and didn't pull the trigger on multiple recent sales. Now I'm glad I held off.

That's one of the tradeoffs of Plus (or Game Pass) - even when a game isn't on the service, there's some resistance to picking it up if you think it's a good candidate for the service. Not that I'm complaining, but I wonder if the developers would be happier if I'd picked it up on sale.

@EfYI I'm glad you have a broad vision that encompasses the reasons everyone should like Premium, not just you.

The several niche reasons you gave that favor your tastes are largely irrelevant to most people as you can see by the comment sections.

Premium besides being name in such a way, barely offers any premium for its value.

It's much more expensive than extra and it drip feeds a few classics per year, even though Sony's catalogue is massive, it offers streaming which barely anyone uses. Finally it offers demos, and that actually adds value to the proposition, but it hardly justified its pricing.

Fact of the matter is, Premium is good price proposition for you , not the majority of people.

Your annoyance comes from the dissonance of your viewpoint and most people's views, but you're clearly not the general opinion and Sony should listen to others if they want to keep their service at a good value.

@RobN Yep, I didn't buy Mortal Kombat 1 for £20 around 3 months ago because I just had a feeling it would be on Plus soon, otherwise I would have just bought it there and then.

@themightyant I picked up Premium on sale, for none of the benefits you mentioned but because of something else - some PSVR2 titles are available free only on the Premium tier. That list has been shrinking since I upgraded several months ago (it was well over a dozen, now there are only about six titles left).

Yes, I understand the free PSVR2 catalog is a niche feature - but I would argue that streaming and PS1/PS2 games are each also niche features.

Premium continues to be a joke. Weaker month for Extra too. I will buy Crow Country by myself at some point when I have a chance to play but it's still the most interesting title in the month.

PS Premium is £120 whereas Extra is £100. What you call a couple of bucks, I call it a 20% price difference.

The last one is where you completely lose me. Going for the ad hominem response and calling people who complain "sad teenagers" is completely unnecessary. People can express their opinion whoever they want, including yourself. But moaning about other people's opinions is very entitled and it implies certain kinds of opinions have more value than others.

I've slated this month's offering earlier on but one thing I do not understand is thr constant demand for multiple premium titles every month. If you buy a years sub at full price its £20 difference for the year or £1.66 a month. Even if you ignore all other benefits on premium and you get 1 game per month it's still easily worth it if you're interested in playing older titles, you only need to play 2/3 premium titles a year to have gotten the value from it. Those that are expecting a barrage of titles every month are just expecting far too much for what you pay.

I heavily recommend Persona 5 Tactica. I liked that more than Persona 3 Reload if I'm keeping it a buck

Only if they would add scarface world is yours and GTA stories... One can wish. I have been asking for those ever since they introduced the ps2 games revival program back in PS4 launch... They brought like 25 games with that program but wasn't meant for these ;(

I love that we've been getting the WWE and MLB titles these last few years. Can't praise Extra enough. Every month lots of cool additions.

Nice I bought this WWE game a couple weeks ago, thought I was getting a steal. Turns out I was just setting myself up for disappointment. Literally hundreds of games on my wishlist and somehow still get stiffed

I wish it was at least 2 or 3 classic games a month added I was like was that it for this month

I already did P5T, found it cute, cool, easy but still with that Persona touch on the story. Really dug the new characters and some cut scenes/theme music.

Legacy of Kain Defiance is a nice addition but at this point the additions to Premium Classic Collection are a joke. So many titles that could could come across left aside. Cant remember the last time we got a PSP title added and now were pretty much getting one or at a push two games added per month.

For £20 a year, I would say 1 to 2 games a month is perfectly generous.
Admittedly I would get it anyway just for the streaming to Portal, so anything extra feels like more of a bonus to me, but have you really stopped to think about how much you are actually paying every month? It’s £1.66. Are the games you get every month from Premium not worth £1.66 to you?

Crow Country is a good Halloween add

Both The Invincible and Crow Country have been on my wishlist for a while so will definitely try those out!

Most of the PS4 stuff is also on Switch but Persona 5 Tactica is a definite headturner otherwise and even I'm lowkey tempted to dip a toe therein despite still being early in P5R itself (so basically having almost two whole games to wrap up prior).

@4fold Im probably in the minority but i got premium for the classic collection. I dont tend to play online and i dont stream. This meant when the price of premium went up and the amount of classics reduced to a trickle it was more cost effective to just buy the classic titles I want rather than get the odd title every couple of months.

At the end of the day as with any subscription service the inherent value is purely based on the user who is using the service and for me it wasnt worth the monthly outlay. Im sure its a different situation for others who may use tbe service more.

I agree in principle, but in this case we are talking £1.66 a month for 1/2 games. That cannot be not worth it unless you don’t like any of these games for several months, at which point yes, better to buy the 1 in 8 or whatever that you like and keep it forever, absolutely.

To me, however, that is not judging the value of the service, it is simply saying your taste is quite specific. Which is totally fair, but not a judgment of the value of the service objectively speaking.

This month for example: do you think Legacy of Kain Defiance is not worth £1.66? Or does the game simply not appeal to you personally?

@4fold Like i say i use it for only for the premium classics and occasional back up. Every now and then I might download a title to try before I buy but heres the thing of course Legacy of Kain is worth more than 1.66 but is it worth the entire price of premium for a month. Which has to be ongoing for continued access to a title. No it isnt.

The problem with sony premium classics trickling out and reducing wont go away and although some see the benefit of the service, I dont and in this financial climate I will save my money for something that I will use and not blindly pay for something that may improve over time.

Now, if you are saying something strange (maybe I misunderstood) but that you are only interested in old games and not new games, that the entire cost of Essential and extra is wasted, then of course it’s not worth getting Premium at all. But the absolute key thing to specify here is that, in this case, you are not judging Premium in the slightest . You are judging Essential and Extra.

In this judgment I may agree. But depends on the person and how much time they have to play of course.

@4fold I mainly played the older games as I reguarly buy newer games. Occasionly I will use the service to effectivly demo a game that i am kind of 50 50 on. However most of the newer games that arrive to the service I already own hence mainly playing the retro stuff. Hope that makes a little more sense as to my reasoining.

Sure. If you buy everything you want before it can come to a service that service isn’t going to be worth anything so why don’t you just buy the retro games when released too, they are much cheaper. I don’t get why you would get Premium for some retro games yet buy everything else. Didn’t mean for that to sound critical, sure you have a reason, I’m just bemused.

I'll check them out but the only one that grabs my attention are Green Hell, unfortunately it's available in VR and i'm more likely to try it there if anywhere. I can't believe I still pay for premium Getting kinda funny now in a 'how long will we get away with this' kinda way
If Premium is for old games then maybe it should say that in the description or at least change the name from Premium to something else. It doesn't really fit. Premium sounds like the better games would be available on that service when clearly they are not! Very strange. Nothing 'Premium' about it in my opinion. Extra is the Premium service out of the two.

Persona 5 Tactica (2023) is a worthy addition.

@nhSnork It is available on Switch (and other platforms) and I think it would work well as a handheld game, but I enjoyed it on PS5.
