Death Stranding PS5 PS4

Death Stranding Director's Cut, the enhanced PS5 version of the original game, has been updated to take advantage of the console's new Power Saver mode. When played in this mode, the game's overall performance (graphics, frame rate, and potentially more) will be reduced, but it'll consume less power.

In addition, its sequel Death Stranding 2 has also received a simple patch today. Update 1.010 weighs in at 4.083GB and adds the same Power Saver mode support alongside Mandarin Chinese audio as a language option. Both these patches are out and available to download now.

For more information covering the mode, refer to our All PS5 Games with Power Saver Support guide for a list of every compatible title and an explanation how it works:

While not yet confirmed, the PS5's new Power Saver mode is heavily rumoured to tie in with the handheld device Sony reportedly plans to offer alongside the PS6. In this power-saving mode, the technical performance is reduced to a point where the two Death Stranding titles, Ghost of Yotei, Demon's Souls, and more could run natively on the device. There's speculation tying the PS6 to a 2027 launch, so there's potential we learn more officially within the next 12 months.
