@Kienda just use the āadd to libraryā option (something I wish Xbox would add). Whenever you get a lull in games then you always have them as an option.
Infinity Nikki has probably been one of the biggest surprises for me, and Iām definitely not the target demographic! To call it a ādress-em upā actually does the game a disservice - yes, you collect outfits, many of which have abilities, but itās also a gorgeous open world (running on UE5 no less!) with many platform and puzzle elements. Iām sure some of the āgachaā elements will start to grate eventually, but so far Iāve been having lots of fun and still havenāt spent a penny of real world money.
@Throb youād think in 2024 this option would come as standard. Teardown was another game that launched without a invert Y option, and we had to wait a few weeks for them to patch it in š
I was in my 20s when PS1 launched. Favourite games were Ridge Racer, the original Wipeout, Tomb Raider, and last but definitely not leastā¦Gran Turismo. At the time the graphics were amazing, and even better were the replays. Not only that, but GT had a meaty single player campaign which in a racing game was unheard of at the time. But the thing Iām most thankful to PlayStation for, was that it made gaming cool. Before PS, gamers were always regarded as ānerdsā, or āgeeksā, and being a gamer wasnāt exactly a hobby we shouted from the rooftops! Slowly but surely though, PlayStation became mainstream and we were no longer embarrassed to be gamers. Thank you Sony š
I was a lapsed player, but last time I went to play it I wanted to restart but the game wouldnāt let me š” donāt know if this is still the case. Probably just start it on Xbox now when it drops on there.
@Tatarimokke Yes youāll see other players, especially in towns, but I tend to ignore them š you may occasionally end up fighting the same enemy, but this is just because you both happen to be in the same place at the same time. I donāt think other players can hurt/kill you, unless you specifically enter a PvP event, which I havenāt done. Iāve heard that the campaign - which you can solo - is around 50 hours, and thatās before you get to endgame stuff, dungeons, raids etc. I would call the game a MMO ARPG, so yes would recommend it even to solo players. Also, check out a guy on YouTube called Renfail, whoās done quite a few good videos recently on Aeternum.
Iāve been playing this since last weekend and am loving it. Thereās so much to do, and I barely feel like Iāve scratched the surface of the game. There are 3 graphics options, and youāre best just sticking with the default āqualityā option. The 4K option isnāt smooth enough, and as you say, resolution takes a hit in performance mode. My character is a soldier, though I later swapped out his hatchet for a musket, so I now have the best of both worlds in close/ranged attacks. Yeah, the character models arenāt particularly great, but otherwise Iām really enjoying this and it definitely scratches that open world itch. Even though this is classed as an MMO you can totally play it solo, which is what Iāve been doing. My only gripe really is mounts being locked until you hit level 20, Iām currently level 17 so have to run everywhere š
Technically the game is amazing (no pun intended š) - swinging through built-up environments is very demanding on the console, but the PS5 manages it superbly. For actual gameplay/missions I thought the game was solid but nothing special.
To be fair the majority of games that charge over Ā£/$70 for āearly accessā also include DLC or an expansion pass as well, eg the āGoldā edition of Star Wars Outlaws. As far as āstandardā releases charging Ā£/$70 goes, I wouldnāt be at all surprised if GTA 6 is the first game to break through this barrier.
How is FF7 Rebirth not even in the top 10?!? My favourite - so far - is probably Astro Bot, but also enjoyed Stellar Blade and the aforementioned Rebirth. Games which I bought (damn FOMO!!) but didnāt click with were Helldivers 2, and Space Marine 2. Have only just started the prologue demo for Metaphor ReFantazio, so too early for an opinion yet.
The Last of Us Part 1. I played it when it first came out on PS4, but this is my first time playing the PS5 remake. Needless to say, the graphics are amazing. Astro Bot. I so far have around 230 bots, so still plenty to find. Iām currently tracking down all the lost galaxy levels. Last night I unlocked the āHorzionā themed level, which I look forward to playing later today. Diablo IV: Vessel of hatred. Hadnāt played the main game for quite a while, this was the perfect reason to jump back in! Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Literally just started this this morning.
I looked at them, just out of curiosity more than anything. Yep, it was still in stock (maybe still is?). For a split second I thought, āI couldā¦ā but luckily common sense prevailed, and I was back to āNo, I just canāt justify that Ā£825 price tagā.
Iāve almost finished the game now and am on the last (main) mission. Just a shame that this last mission relies so heavily on stealth, which makes it a bit of a drag. I have around 45 hours in the game and for the most part have enjoyed it. 8/10 from me.
@DennisReynolds I wonder if this delay will affect day 1 sales of PS5 Pro? After all, AC Shadows would have been the first new game to take advantage of the Proās power.
Some games do āfidelityā mode really well. Eg, I played FF7 rebirth in fidelity mode and had no issues with it. I always try both, but Iād say I probably use performance mode more than fidelity.
Ā£700 and doesnāt even include a disc drive?!? Even if I could afford it I simply couldnāt justify spending that much on a mid-generation console. Pass.
Iām hovering between 8-9 after around 18 hours played. I love the balance of exploration, combat and stealth. Love all the Star Wars lore, and have just met a certain character from the movies. Music is great, as is the lighting. I like the way you unlock abilities through āthe expertsā. Planets/maps are a mixed bag so far. Toshara I liked, Kijimi was a bit boring. Have just arrived on Akiva, so too early to give an opinion. Havenāt been to Tatooine yet as Iām saving it - will recognise lots from the films so am looking forward to that. Thereās loads to do in this game outside of the main quests and Iām in no rush to finish it š
Already downloaded! Couldnāt really find any big deals for the physical version, only about a fiver less than the RRP, so bought it digitally. Will be rushing home from work on Friday š
It seems only recently that Ā£/$70 games became the norm, and theyāre already talking about an another price hike?!? GTA6 is probably the only game that could go higher, but I think it will be the exception rather than the rule. Most games wonāt come anywhere near the predicted sales for GTA6.
I have to face the harsh reality that it will probably be too hard for me š Iām not really into āboss rushā games, which this appears to be, especially ones with no difficulty options. Shame, because the actual boss designs look amazing.
Really enjoying Deadlink. It had a bit of a slow start in regards to meta progression, but things are getting tasty now. Also playing Atlas Fallen. Donāt know what the game was like before the recent āReign of sandā update, but Iām enjoying it. Plenty of essence stones to choose from to tailor your build, and the momentum mechanic is good. Going to try and finish it before Star Wars Outlaws comes out.
