Re: Crash Bandicoot 4 Demo Out Now on PS4

Crimson_Ridley

Utterly ridiculous that you have to pre-order a game to try a demo to see if the game really is worth purchasing. The greed and business practices in the gaming industry still continues to surprise me, even though it's more expected than a PS5 price at this stage.

@Steel76 - Gotta get them clicks... 😩

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at Ubisoft Forward?

Crimson_Ridley

@tameshiyaku I originally read "lit" as "it" and was immediately reminded of a Simpsons quote:
"I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me"

I suppose it still applies to Ubisoft. 😂

Re: How Well Do You Know Final Fantasy IX?

Crimson_Ridley

@ShogunRok
It was the 2nd trophy I unlocked! I had to learn the pattern, and where it changed and then pretty much closed my eyes and just kept the rhythm. If I watched the screen, I kept losing focus. 😂 After 300 jumps, it just stays at a constant tempo, so it's just a case of learning those first sections and getting the hang of when they occur. It's a lot easier to explain than actually do, but isn't too bad once you've spent enough time on it.

Re: Reaction: State of Play Continues to Find Its Way

@Grindagger
You are correct in your assessment. I was a little blindsided by people on YouTube constantly asking for things like a GTA VI announcement and other huge games when this SoP wasn't intended for those kinds of announcements.

I think there is room for both exciting SoPs and smaller, catered ones like this, that aren't meant for everyone. If they can strike a balance between the two, I think they could do well.

I appreciate your reply and counter-point and thank you for taking the time to write it.

Re: Reaction: State of Play Continues to Find Its Way

It was enjoyable to watch, and shed light on some games I weren't familiar with before, but interested in trying out when they release.

I also think they did a good job of letting people know what to expect, but unfortunately, you'll never please everyone.
Sony could have said "Look, we have 1 game to show and it's this" and people will still say "I was expecting more games, and they only showed one!" and then cry that it was rubbish. People are silly. 😂

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of the Latest State of Play Livestream?

Crimson_Ridley

It was pretty good. Sony communicated the contents of it very well, so people hopefully went in to it not expecting Earth-shattering reveals (let's face it, people don't listen, so many probably did).

There were some interesting games in there. I have yet to play Control, but I am a little disappointed that the DLC looks to be related to Alan Wake, when Remedy could just make another Alan Wake!

Godfall just doesn't do anything for me, and I usually like those sorts of games. I just don't think there's anything in it that says "This is PS5!", which a launch title should be aiming for.

The Hitman VR reveal was great, and I'm definitely interested in picking up VR again to give that a go!

I'm happy to see Braid again. I adored that game, but I do wonder why 13 years is an anniversary to celebrate?

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Ghost of Tsushima?

Crimson_Ridley

I'm still in Act 1 but have been going around filling out the map and collecting everything I can.

I'd give it a very high 8, nearly a 9 so far. There's a few wonky animations, and while the world is stunningly beautiful, it starts to look a bit samey in places.

Of course, this is going off of the first area, and I'm more than open to adjust my score as I continue to play through.

Overall, it's a fantastic game and I'm incredibly happy with it!

Re: Dragon Quest XI S on PS4 Is a Switch Port, No Upgrade for Existing Dragon Quest XI Players

Crimson_Ridley

Oh... That is very disappointing. This was my game of the showcase, but knowing that the Switch version is probably the better one to just buy (designed to be played at lower resolutions with lower graphical fidelity), I think I'll get the original on PS4 and S on the Switch. I waited all this time for nothing. 😢

Then again, it might have a separate Trophy list, so 2 Platinums... Hmm...

Re: Ghost of Tsushima: What Difficulty Should You Select?

Crimson_Ridley

I'll certainly be playing through on Hard. I play every game on the hardest difficulty as most of my fun with games comes from challenging my abilities and learning the game to keep moving forward.

I can't see this game being more difficult than Dark Souls, and that game is just a case of pattern recognition more than anything.

Work is going to be the longest shift tomorrow!

Re: The Last of Us 2 Petition Demands Dramatic Story Alterations

Crimson_Ridley

I've just reached a part that a lot of people are unhappy about, and honestly I think it's pretty cool (about 15 hours in for those that have played up to and past this part).

You can clearly see how many people don't pay any attention to the game they're playing. Everything that the story has been thus far makes perfect sense to me, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of it.

People are too damn entitled. It's that snowflake generation that were told they can have it their way their whole lives, deciding who can and can't do things. There are more important things in life than getting your own way all the time, and once you grow up and realise nobody owes you anything, you'll have a much greater understanding of the world around you.

You have no right to demand changes to someone else's creativity and work. You'd be the first to defend your own, so how dare you attack someone else's? Pathetic people. By all means review it, disagree with it and respect that it's not for you, but that's all you should do. You're no better than book burners.
