We're all waiting for the PlayStation 5 price and release date right now, and every hour that ticks by is now only made worse by this morning's Xbox Series S reveal. We now know the cost of one of the consoles launching this year, but Sony has remained tight-lipped on its own line-up of systems at the time of writing. The wait has gotten to some people so much that they think the Japanese giant is actively trolling them with Ghost of Tsushima gifs on Twitter.
Whether that is actually Sony's intentions or not, we'll never know, but it is a funny talking point nonetheless. It started yesterday as the official PlayStation account asked fans to "find some time to relax and reflect". PlayStation UK then followed that up this morning by tweeting that it was simply "blessing your timeline". The caption was once again accompanied by Jin Sakai relaxing in a Hot Spring with his buttocks on show.
The responses on both the social media site and popular gaming forum ResetEra are then filled with people very much not remaining calm in response. Remember folks, the news we're all waiting for is probably just around the corner. It has to be this month, right? This scribe cannot envision a world where we enter October without a confirmed PS5 price and release, but then stranger things have happened. 2020 is a thing.

I think many responses including that PushSquare article have been hilarious acting like this is a big deal.
The Series S is 300 before tax and with a 500 GB storage. Everyone knows that if you buy that you are most likely going to have to upgrade that almost immediately and that price will jump to 400-500 fast. By that point, you might as well have bought the better systems.
There is no way I’d pick a Series S over a PS5 considering both editions of the PS5 will probably between 400-500. A Series S might save you around 130 dollars which isn’t much when it comes to buying something you really want.
It’s seems like MS plan is more that they hope future PS5 owners will buy a Series S as well.

@OmegaStriver not to mention that it only plays 4K media and does NOT have 4K gaming. SSD is small and slow. No disc. The disadvantages make a long list for XSS. Is it even next gen? I don’t think so.
At least both editions of the PS5 actually have equal capabilities save for the 4K UHD blu-ray drive. Same specs. The Series S is worse than the One X. So why? It’s not even worth $200 to me much less $300. If I were ready to pay $300 for it I would GLADLY drop another $100 for the PS5 digital edition. Easily.
