Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, one of the best platformers from the PlayStation 2 era, is getting a full-blown remake – although the leaked assets don’t give the best impression. Spotted on the Russian UPlay website, we get a look at the titular prince and a lady reaching out to him as she’s obstructed by guards.
You can see the full thing in motion, courtesy of the capture from Twitter below:
Look, we’ll reserve judgment for now, as Ubisoft Forward is only a few hours away. Frankly, it doesn’t look good, but these are low-quality assets and it’s far too early to jump to any conclusions. We’ll anticipate the full reveal later today; hopefully the gameplay holds up, because Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is still fun to this very day.

While I will definitely buy this game, I hope for 2 things...
1. These pictures are not indicative of final quality
2. This leads to more prince of persia
I really do wish this was a brand new game and not a remake but at this point I'll take what I can get.
Next up gimme splinter cell.
It does not look that great. So what's their excuse for not putting it on the switch now?
Ouch... Ubi what have you done... I'll wait for tonight presentation but it's not looking good.
Ubisoft shouldn't even do conferences anymore. They should just wait for the inevitable leaks then just talk about the game in depth the next day lol. Would probably be better for them and would keep us on our toes.
I love Sands of Time but that looks like a low-budget French animated movie starring a raccoon.
I think they need to use the Sands of Time to go back to before they started this project and try again.
The shows is just a couple hours later, I hope the remake is good since I want more prince of persia games
I don’t care how it looks since I was expecting it to be a remake of the 2008 game so I have no interest now
Wow...that looks Gawful.
Let's see how it looks in the presentation, but yeah, this leak doesn't look too promising.
Remember when the Prince started listening to My Chemical Romance? Good times! 😂
I really enjoyed The Two Thrones though, probably my favourite one!
Not enough there to really judge
@torne that picture quality. Is not the final build.it definitely looks low res from ps2 era.but the game will definitely will look much better.word up son
@playstation1995 Fingers crossed. I also saw a brief animation on IGN and that also did not look great.
Early reports are usually sketchy.........reserve judgement on what was a joy to play 1st time out.
There was another picture that was leaked that looked way better than these two.
Ewww. That looks really bad.
That doesn't look like Jake Gyllenhaal at all.
@Deadlyblack Lets hope you are right it looks not ugly but a little strange.
So remake or remaster?
Remakes usually look good since they're basically recreated from scratch , right?
Fingers crossed the end product looks fine.
Also, since it's Ubisoft i (might wrongfully) expected Assassin's Creed graphics.
Clearly from the same animation team that did the FMV cutscenes for FFVII on the PS1.
um, aside from how it looks, I'm thinking it's not culturally "Persian" anymore. That looks like Prince of Arabia, somehow?
I'm not very hopeful in Ubisoft's games. After seeing AC: Valhalla's gameplay I was drastically disappointed in that game. I'd want this one to be a great game too but something tells me stupid decisions from Ubisoft is gonna also hold this one back.
It's a technique. They leak that and when you see the quality of the one they are actually working on, everyone will compare and go wow, that looks amazing!
Crumbs, I hope that doesn't represent the finished game! When you use the word 'Remake', rather than 'Remaster', it suggests a full remake from the ground up using current tech.
I guess now we know what a AAAA game looks like!
Not gonna lie it looks like an early ps3 game at best but I guess we have to wait until the presentation to get the full story
Doesant look too impressive but I'm just glad the reboot rumours were true.
Looks good to me, though I'd also love a full blown reboot of the franchise.
Seems like the perfect game to showcase the new future of swapping memory cards around!
Cool can’t wait to play this on my PS2.
