Part of the DNA of the Tony Hawk series has always been the music, and Activision clearly understands that. It's bringing back the original two games with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, a full remake for PlayStation 4, and it includes most (but not all) of the licensed songs from the PS1 classics. To supplement the soundtrack for this modern take on the beloved games, more than 30 additional tracks have been announced.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, you can see a full list of the extra songs. There are 37 tracks joining the classic lineup, with the aim to "represent the ever-growing and diverse soundtrack of skateboarding culture". You can get a taste of the range coming to the game in the above video, which showcases the likes of Deathwire by Rough Francis, Bass by Merkules, and Bloody Valentine by Machine Gun Kelly. Other artists include Billy Talent, Reel Big Fish, and A Tribe Called Quest -- yes, Can I Kick It is part of the soundtrack.
It seems to us the music will be pretty diverse, but it all seems pretty fitting. Just like the roster of new skaters, the remake's soundtrack is mixing old with new. It's shaping up nicely, then -- but what do you think? Are all these tunes getting you in the mood for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater? Tell us your favourites from the track list in the comments section below.

I am a fan of the old soundtrack and tunes...it feels like a better fit, but that’s just me as a guy who grew up on punk, rock, metal, and grunge in the 90s and the whole extreme attitude era.
I'm so excited for these. Being greedy, I hope they also remaster THPS3 and 4 as well. That would pretty much be my life complete then (even more so if PS5 produces a top notch PES experience as well).
Awesome. The original soundtracks are great but looking forward to getting to know some more music through this.
If it feels too repetitive I'll probably just whack Spotify on in the background anyway though.
I'm Happy for them to implement a diverse soundtrack, but please let me be able to turn songs off! I like my punk and rock to these games. The best thing was in Underground onwards there was a button to turn off Rap. I wish life had a button like that sometimes.
@tomassi THPS 3 & 4 are my favorites heres hoping...........I want the Foundry remastered.
@pip_muzz Have you even played THPS2? The game had a lot of rap, about 50% of its soundtrack: Public Enemy, Papa Roach, Naughty By Nature, The High And Mighty & Mos Def, Dub Pistols, Subculture, Alley Life.
@Kidfried I did play THPS2 yes. Papa Roach is more nu metal than rap and Public Enemy played with Anthrax to be fair.
That said I didn't oppose Rap in the game. Just being able to turn it off. THPS HD omitted this option much to my annoyance. The majority of THPS games are 1/3 punk, 1/3 rock/metal and 1/3 rap/hip hop. (According to their soundtrack screens)
Ehhh, I’m familiar with a lot of the new bands but personally I just would have rather stuck with 90s music, it suits the games more. I mean, THPS games always have terrible music that ends up getting stuck in your head, that’s par for the course, but I’d rather it be iconic and nostalgic terrible music than stuff that came out a couple of years ago.
@Number09 Yeah HPS3 was my fave personally, and the soundtrack was immense too!
Seems like it’s turning out to be ok so far. Don’t mess this up Activision.
@shonenjump86 Oh get ready for lootdecks
Can't go wrong with a bit of Reel Big Fish. Some Less Than Jake or Bowling For Soup would be sweet as well.
EDIT: Just seen they have put a LTJ song in as well!
I love the fact that Can I Kick It is in this soundtrack. I'm up for listening to the new music alongside the old. Seems like a good mix to me.
@ILikeStake yeah, there’s a good chance of that.
Is this basically a remastered version of the remastered version that came out on 360 about 10 years ago?
I'm not big on a lot of these, liked some Hopsin stuff and the track hes featuring on sounds alright, also instead of Skepta would have taken Chasing the Art by Wiley or something, much better. The Ataris song sounds good, never really checked anything out apart from Don Henley cover. Wasn't planning on picking it up until it was cheap anyway, because the ps3 era games were just much better tbh.
