@TheGamerKing The switch only has 32 GB 25 of which are usable for games. There are games like the BioShock Collection that won’t even fit on the internal storage. I doubt the will ever be a PS5 game that you won’t be able to install without a gen 4 nvme in the way that you require an Micro SD card for some switch games.

I get that they sold out for launch day. Shouldn’t you be able to pre-order a PS5 for later delivery. That’s what I did with my PS4.

Ironically the reputational damage suffered by monster energy drink in making this vexatious claim is greater than zero loss they would’ve suffered if gods and monsters had kept its original name.

FinalFantasy 16 Will be which ever game Square decides to attach that title to. It’s not like mainline entries have the same world or any characters in common with each other.

@rjejr The advantage of Microsoft approach in having different names for the disk and diskless consoles. Is that they can write Xbox series X on the disk and it will play on every Xbox series X. Nowhere will it say Xbox series S so you don’t have to worry about confusion.

This, The Avengers and the Sword Art Online game are all things that I’ve decided not to get on the current generation. But which I may get on the next generation if that fixes the frame rate.

@Anti-Matter I don’t think there is anything on the Tony Hawk‘s Pro Skater 1 and 2 disk apart from for tutorial and the warehouse. It was not a problem for me as the game had finished downloading by the time I’d completed the tutorial.

I’m intending to play this on PS5. Hopefully the digital foundry types will do an analysis to tell me whether that would fix the problems.

Death end re;Quest 2 The story has really started to pick up the pace now.

It would definitely be a benefit to be able to download and play PS3 games from PlayStation now onto the PlayStation five. You’d think it would save on the cost of keeping racks of old PS3 is running in server rooms to support PlayStation now as well.

So the plan is to port over story driven games that end on cliffhangers and then not there sequels?

I’m playing the Legend of Zelda skyward sword through backwards compatibility on my Wii U. When my sword arm need to rest i’m playing Brothers a tale of two sons. I downloaded it from PlayStation Now and I’m playing on my PS4.

This evening I intend to start Death End reQuest 2.

@Icey664 A gatcha game is a game where you have the option to pay to summon additional characters at random. Fire emblem heroes it’s an example. Some of them can be excellent games as no one is going to spend money to buy additional characters for a game they don’t enjoy playing. The problem is that some people get addicted to summoning additional characters and spend large amounts of money without achieving anything.

I’m still going to play it. But they seriously reduced their chances of getting money out of me by not charging me for it upfront.

I have no problem with content being added to games over time. If a game adds half an hour of content a week finally building to 21 hours at the end of the year that’s good. If you have to dip back into the game every week in order to play that half an hour of additional content or it will be gone forever that is bad.

I take a similar view of DLC if they put something up on the PlayStation store and leave it up forever and when I buy it I’ve got it for good that’s a nice option to have. If it’s a case of buying digital currency to get something in an in game store but will be rotating every day I find that bad. I have a similar problem with card packs and boxes that can be bought over and over again.

For those wondering how long for PS4 will continue to get new games. On this evidence basically forever. They will just get progressively more and more indy.

15 out of 20. On a couple of those are played all three games that weren’t pictured and so it had to be the fourth.

PS5 can presumably install the game directly off the PS5 disc whereas if you get the PS4 version you need to use the Internet for the upgrade. Without Internet access he would just be stuck playing in backwards compatibility mode.

Final Fantasy 8 remastered. I am enjoying it far more than I did Final Fantasy 12.

His sense of humour was part of what made the old GTA game is better than the competition. It will certainly be missed if we get a GTA6.

@nessisonett The key question the regulators need to answer is if anime is a separate market from the western cartoons produced by the likes of Disney and Netflix.

I will be getting Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. But I didn’t feel the need for any of the optional DLC personas in persona five and I feel no need for Dante in Nocturne.

There are multi platform developer yet most of the games only seem to release on a single platform. Porting some of them might prove lucrative.

That means I can dispense with the quarantine account I put PlayStation now in at the end of my subscription period.

Telling the developer to work on an IP they have no interest in is usually a recipe for a bad game. They should make for anime IP available for that game developers and their gaming IP is available to the anime studios. But trying to tie the 2 to closely together will negatively affect the quality of one.

It would be interesting to know how much of that DLC is discrete purchases like adding additional characters to a fighting game. As opposed to packs of cards were the same thing can be bought repeatedly. I would suspect the majority is the things that can be bought repeatedly.

@Mostik Last time we got games like Contrast and Fez. Which were also on PS3. But the PlayStation plus version was the PS4 version. I would expect a similar situation for the first PlayStation five games on plus.

Nothing quite like having people start to build a library of PlayStation five games that they claimed on their PlayStation 4 to incentivise them to upgrade.

@Athrum They’ve been manufacturing PS5’s for about a month now. So it should be arriving this year. They just haven’t decided how much it’s going to cost yet. They are probably waiting for the competition to announce their prices first.

I’m sure Microsoft has a cunning plan probably involving subscription services and cheaper hardware for 1080p screens.

Whether or not that cunning plan will work... It might well keep them in the race but I doubt they will overtake PlayStation.

We certainly need competition and it looks like they’re only two companies who will be putting out full fat NextGen consuls.

My guess is that you will be able to buy the original Spider-Man, the city that never sleeps and Miles Morales. For the price of a full game. Or just Spider-Man Miles Morales at the same price point that lost legacy was released at.

@avenovah Half-Life: Alyx was entirely on PC. The same as all their other projects this generation.

@TheTrueSelf I think we got to different endings on Persona 5 Royal. Which I guess shouldn’t be surprising since the game has multiple endings. That also kind of makes it hard to have Persona 5 Royal’s ending as cannon.

A new game day one on PlayStation plus can’t ask the more than that.

@Caliburn08 The first Tomb Raider was originally a Sega Saturn game that was ported to PlayStation. They’ve been most successful on PlayStation but were never exclusives.
