PS5 Price Release Date Rumours

August is the month for Sony to nail down many more PlayStation 5 details -- or so the internet would have you believe. That's right folks, we're once again at that point where desperation is setting in. Sony's been silent on the subject of next-gen since it revealed its upcoming console back in June, and of course this means that every chancer on the web is telling people that news is gonna drop over the next 30 days or so.

The bottom line is that no one can pinpoint a precise date because no one actually knows what Sony's plans are -- that much is clear based on previous events. We're obviously due a State of Play at some point soon -- the Japanese giant's still got so much to talk about -- but right now, your guess is as good as ours.

Still, rumours are definitely starting to swirl. On the latest Kinda Funny Gamescast, Imran Khan says that he's "heard" both Sony and Microsoft "have" to talk about "pricing and availability" in August. What's more, Jeff Grubb is back on Twitter with an updated event schedule, suggesting that Sony's next showing will take place between the 5th and 11th August.

It's starting to feel like something has to happen in August, but as always, we'd advise against placing bets until Sony makes a move. While we understand that the wait for key PS5 information can be a bit frustrating, it will happen eventually, and we'll be around to cover any breaking news here on Push Square.
