I'm not remotely suprised that today's gamers cannot play MK. They are too used to being babysat. Catch-up mechanics, hints, a big pointing arrow to the objective, the main character literally spelling out how to do a puzzle - lol.
Games before the 5th generation threw you in there like a boomer dad teaching you how to swim.

Let us be clear about what "free" means in reality. It means "cost cutting because we are making no money off this service."

Even if it does launch in 2027 it'll probably take until 2029 for any console exclusive games to come out for it.

The sad thing is, there is a lot of potential here given the large cast of characters and the time travel aspect to do something Sonic the Hedgehog adjacent.

I was suprised by how good this game is tbh. Silent Hill was such a pachinko, gacha, dead franchise for so long that i was not expecting much.

Like Mortal Kombat and the first two Tekken games, this has aged BADLY. One for the nostalgic among you because I doubt that anyone used to faster, deeper, more intricate fighters will find much here.

Every single Fallout game to date has been bundles of fun gameplay wise but technically among the worst that I have ever played. Multiple crashes are expected, softlocks, broken quests, poor UI, dated graphics.

It'll sell. Of course it will. But Todd Howard has a bad reputation for a reason. Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies...

I suspect, like with the first game, this will be yesterday's news pretty quickly. It'll probably have a nice stint on PS Plus by the second half of next year.

I got to say, i really feel sorry for kids today who never got to experience the heyday of SNES v Genesis or PS3 vs 360. Continuous innovation, brand new IP every few months, games that actually shipped with a game on the disc.
I do not think that it'll happen again.

Then there is no reason to buy an XBox if you can get all of its games on PlayStation. That is what it comes down to.

Anyway, we know why they are saying this. XBox alone can no longer shift the product required to make an exclusive worth it. If they had another Modern Warfare 2 vs Halo 3 situation on their hands I bet she would change her tune very quickly.

One report I read in the news recently stated that something like 90% of companies that have adopted AI have only seen marginal gains. As what often happens with new technology, you have this huge burst in the early days followed by marginal gains as you get further along.

@saffeqwe A high score and a trophy is nothing alike. A high score requires continuous improvement and effort, whereas a trophy, once it goes ding, that's it. Forever.

@awp69 As someone who has owned consoles from every major brand at some point, I can tell you straight and without bias that the XBOX deserves everything thrown at it.
The 360 was an amazing console with amazing games - but in retrospect it was Microsoft's MegaDrive. Because as with Sega, everything has been progressively downhill since almost entirely due to terrible corporate decisions.

Tekken 3 is the best Tekken imo. I wonder how they got around the licensing issue with Gon? I suspect that they will have deleted him.

This is a good thing imo. AC has been feeling stale for a while. New blood, hopefully new ideas.

Does review bombing exist? Of course it does. But I also think that is a very convenient excuse to dismiss other people's opinions.
Sometimes, a lot of people are calling your game crap because a lot of people legitimately think that your game is crap.

It'll be interesting to see if the Switch 2 has legs over the long term. Nintendo's anti-consumer practices recently have caused even the faithful to grumble.

But some companies legitimately do seem to be immune from the consequences of criticism. They aren't doing much that Microsoft isn't with the Xbox and yet only one is being dragged over the coals for it.

This surprised me tbh. I would have assumed Digimon to be a dead franchise.

Its like, dude, do you have any idea how expensive 100 odd songs is? Be happy you've still got 98% of them.

@Ultrasmiles Supposedly GTA is one of Scotland's most profitable products. Not Scotch Whisky big or anything like that, but its still pretty bloody big.

Let's say it how it is: They've had a lot of poorly received games in the past decade. Not all of them were obviously, but a lot of them such as Anthem have been mega failures.
It would be a very different story if they had something amazing under their belt that they could point to. No company coming in to balance the books is going to be chuckling at the state of this output.

Two brand new games or one book full of artwork that I could just download for free.

I sincerely doubt that I will notice the difference. And as for the ethical implications, they join pretty much every other corporation in the world in chasing unethical money. You'll have to boycott a lot more than EA if you wish to not be called a hypocrite.

Lol. Try that day and age. I do not know how many UK readers of the site have forgotten that the game was not called ''Bully'' and never was. It was called ''Canis Canem Edit'' because a game about bullying was already pushing the knuckle of British censorship.

This game really does not look very James Bond to me so far. More like ''generic action game starring someone called James Bond''. But we'll see.
