I'm glad people like it, but it's not for me. I now understand how many must have felt when VII came along. This is just so unlike what came before that i find it very difficult to accept as an FF title.

I didn't have a bad time with the first game, but I've also never felt the need to play it again either.
My hope is that they veer away from its clear origins as a Fallout clone and attempt something original.

People checking the game out for the first time or people trying to wash the bad taste out of their mouths by playing the superior version of the story? You decide!

A very poor comparison given how Mario is pretty much the most popular gaming character of all time. Very few games have the ability to compete with Mario.

I like to think of GTA3 as being the first true GTA game. 1 and 2 are just so unlike anything that came later and their mechanics have aged so poorly that they do not even feel like GTA games.
Honestly, at this point you probably could convince someone that Driver is the first game in the GTA series.

I think that a poll is needed.

Namco and Konami are the Japanese equivalent of EA and Ubisoft. If they can find a way for a cheap buck, they will.

@Oram77 If the continuous retcons of MGS4 and 5 have taught me anything, it is that this series is best left without Kojima in it as his ideas were starting to get nonsensical. The whole cast of MGS3 is now evil and there is a guy just off camera in every scene cleaning up after Snake. What next?

There has been a 31% drop in viewership since Pascal left the show. They made a very serious mistake in doubling down on Joel's death and it is costing them.

My view on this is the same as the Atari Classics collection. It might make a good birthday present for your dad but modern gamers will not find much here.

Open world sandbox games are great if there actually is an open world.

Too many devs just think "here is tons of empty space for you to run around in" and then just leave it there.

@RawnDawn I was skeptical for the simple reason that no one else has done this with the PS5.

It kind of pisses me off actually as it just confirms what I've been saying about how lackluster the PS5 has been up until this point. Why I have I spent years playing what are at best PlayStation 4.5 games when the base system was always capable of producing something that looks like this?

The era of exclusivity is dead for everyone except Nintendo. PlayStation on PC, Xbox on PlayStation.
The console wars simply are not profitable any more.

With the exception of the graphics this currently looks exactly like GTA5.

What worries me looking at these screenshots is that a lot of its satire is going to be outdated by the time of its release thanks to the constant delays.

My personal opinion is that all of those non-gamers who had absolutely no idea of the twist were confronted by the exact same question that we've been asking for the better part of a decade now: ''Was it worth it?'' and many have replied with a firm fat ''no'' and turned off.

Your continued enjoyment is probably also dependent on your opinion as to whether Pascal was carrying Ramsay or not.

Once again the adage ''just make good games and they will come'' has been proven correct.

That's what FF has always been. All of those menus, status effects, magic spells, skills, items, skill trees... 9 times out of 10 they are all completely irrelevant. The only thing that has changed today is that FF has dropped the pretense of choice.

I don't think "the scene" will happen until the last episode if it happens at all. We'll see. TV shows rarely survive for long after it loses its biggest star and they'll know that if they are worth their salt.
And yes, like it or not, Pascal is the name draw of this show.
