Ghost of Yotei PS5

In the four months since its release, Ghost of Yotei has outsold Ghost of Tsushima when comparing the numbers to its own launch period.

On a better sales trajectory than the original 2020 game, Sony said (via VGC) that Ghost of Yotei "exceeded the sales of the previous title in the same period of time", and it "significantly" contributed to today's financial earnings report. In the better-than-expected report, Sony shared its PS5 console sale figures had reached 92.2 million units.

Exactly one month after its October 2025 release, Sony shared Ghost of Yotei sales had reached 3.3 million units. By comparison, Ghost of Tsushima sold 2.4 million copies in three days and went on to shift five million in four months. In the USA, Ghost of Yotei was last year's third-best-selling game.

Today's quotes from Sony suggest Ghost of Yotei has now sold more than five million units.

As per Sony's Q3 fiscal year 2025 financial report, sales of first-party PS5, PS4 games increased over the same period last year. 13.2 million copies of first-party PS5, PS4 titles were sold during the period, which is an increase of 1.6 million units over the same time span last year. Ghost of Yotei launched during this period and is said to have contributed "significantly".
